Recap:Sonny surprised Carly when he presented her with the papers that A.J. had signed, relinquishing his rights to Michael. Carly thanked him and hugged him gratefully. Sonny further stunned her by saying that he never wanted Michael to know a minute of uncertainty about who his family was. To that end, Sonny told Carly that he wanted to adopt Michael. Carly received his announcement with mixed emotions. She was pleased that Sonny was so dedicated to her son, but she felt that their impending divorce would confuse the issue for Michael. Sonny accused her of selfishly trying to stay married to him, but she felt that he was the one behaving selfishly. She told him that she needed time to think about it, and Sonny agreed. Lucky made his way to the Cassadine yacht to look for Elizabeth. Gia was the only person he found, and she was surprised that he didn't remember anything that had happened with Liz. Lucky confessed that Helena had gotten to him again, but he knew that he was getting better at fighting her. He told Gia that even with that positive sign, he was certain that Helena would win, and that none of them would ever be safe or happy. Gia offered him words of reassurance by telling him that love never died, and if he believed hard enough, he would be reunited with Liz. Comforted, Lucky had a vision of Liz telling him that she still loved him, and that they would be together. Skye was relieved when A.J. returned to the Quartermaine mansion, but a sullen A.J. expressed no joy at seeing her. She told him about the bartender telling the family that A.J. was on a bender, and A.J. reacted with surprise. He told Skye that Sonny had held him captive in a meat locker, and had browbeat him into giving up his custodial rights. A.J. had held out for a long time, until Sonny had brought in bottles of vodka that were chased by a phony news headline of A.J.'s death in a drunk driving accident. He had reluctantly signed the papers after that, but he assured Skye that he was going after Sonny with guns blazing. Sure that it was the fastest way to ruin, Skye advised caution. She eventually convinced A.J. that Michael was safe for the moment, and she told him that they should bide their time to get revenge. Though Stefan was initially confident that he would win against Stavros, his brother soon gained the upper hand by talking about Nikolas. Stavros cheerfully told Stefan that Nikolas had killed Liz, and he was now just like his father. Devastated, Stefan's guard slipped, and Stavros overpowered him. Stavros let Helena out of the chamber and scoffed when she demanded that he kill Stefan. Stavros claimed to have a better plan, and he tied Stefan to a chair. Nikolas found Laura at the hospital and told her that Liz was safely hidden away, but Gia now knew about their scheme. Laura had news of her own, and she told him that she had aided Stefan in his escape from jail. Nikolas was dismayed to hear that, since he believed that Stefan was safe in jail. He told Laura that he was determined to use Helena's newfound trust in him to their advantage. Laura was going to warn him about Stavros' return when Helena showed up. She took Nikolas away and told him that she had something special to show him. Scott stayed with Luke, while Laura spoke with Nikolas, and he tried to make sense of Luke's ramblings. Luke kept going on about the lab and the maze, and he whispered that the keys were in Laura's mind. When Scott relayed the message to Laura, she had no idea what it meant, but she told Scott that time was running out for them to solve the puzzle. Meanwhile, Helena took Nikolas to the lab and told him that she had something to show him that would make him very happy. Inside, Stavros waited impatiently to be reunited with his son.
