Preview: Carly finally learns the truth about Angel.
Recap:During a routine checkup, Tony discovered that Sorel was dead in his hospital bed. He called in Amy and another nurse to ask them how Sorel's death could have gone undetected. Both nurses said that Sorel's monitors at the front desk had remained normal and had never indicated that he had died. Tony paged Alan, who reacted with remarkable calm at the news of the crime lord's death. He told Tony to simply have Sorel taken to the morgue and be done with it. Upon further investigation, however, Tony realized that Sorel's respirator had been unplugged and his heart monitor alarm had been disabled with a tongue depressor. He suggested that they call the police because it appeared that Sorel had been murdered. Across the hall, Zander's nurse checked in on him and found him sitting on the floor. He told her that he had gotten out of bed to walk around the room and didn't have the energy to get back into bed. She noticed that his alarm had been disengaged with a tongue depressor and asked where he had learned to do that. Zander told her that the less she knew, the better. Taggert arrived on the scene and initially had as blase a reaction as Alan had to Sorel's death. But when Tony showed him all of the evidence, Taggert declared that Sorel's room was officially a crime scene. He questioned the guard, who said that one moment he had been guarding the room, and the next thing he knew, he woke up to see Tony standing over him. Realizing that the guard's coffee might have been drugged, Taggert called in forensics. Roy found Melissa praying for forgiveness in the hospital chapel. Having been lurking outside of Sorel's room when Taggert announced Sorel's death, Roy told Melissa that Sorel was no longer a threat to anyone. She was stunned to hear that Sorel had been murdered and told Roy that she felt as though his death was her fault. Roy suggested that they take a trip out of town to cleanse their minds of Sorel and their pasts. Melissa thought it was a good idea, but a bad time to leave. Sonny entered his office and saw that Carly was asleep in his chair. He took a moment to watch her sleep and then gently woke her. Carly told him that she had slept there because she needed to see him after the horrible night she had. She was terrified that something was going to happen to Michael and was angry with Sonny for not telling her how he planned to keep her son safe. She also informed him of her plan to work with Skye against Angel. Sonny berated her for trusting Skye and for not trusting him to keep Michael safe. When he told her that she didn't understand the steps he had to take, she yelled that she had taken steps of her own to protect Michael, and she didn't need him after all. Suspicious, Sonny asked her what she had done, but Carly walked out without telling him. Edward invited Jax to breakfast at the mansion so that they could discuss booting Skye out of ELQ. An eavesdropping Skye hurried upstairs to change, and when she and Jax were introduced, she was wearing a sexy dress. Jax offered to buy Skye's ELQ stock so that he would have even more control, and Edward huffed over that plan. The meeting was interrupted when Sonny came in. He and Jax coldly greeted each other before Sonny took Skye onto the terrace. He warned her to stay away from Carly, and he told A.J. that if he didn't back off, he would suffer the consequences. Genuinely afraid, Skye wondered if the scheme should continue, and A.J. told her that she was off the hook because he didn't want her tangling with Sonny. When Edward received a call about Sorel's death, Monica and A.J. eyed each other warily. At the hospital, Taggert questioned Zander about his possible role in Sorel's death. The nurse didn't reveal that Zander's alarm had been disabled in the same manner as Sorel's. Zander coolly lied that he had been sedated, and he was shocked when Alan chimed in and said that he had given Zander the medicine. Alone, Alan told Zander that no one was going to pay for Sorel's death, since the only thing that mattered was that Emily was finally safe. Carly ran into Roy and Melissa at GH and expressed her extreme gratitude that Sorel was dead. Having received a call, Angel was there as well, and she yelled at Carly for being insensitive. Carly reeled when Taggert told her that Angel was Sorel's daughter. She called Angel a lying piece of trash for keeping such a hateful secret. Jax returned to his hotel room to find Sonny calmly drinking a dram of whiskey on the sofa. The two adversaries circled each other like lions until Sonny told Jax that he wanted answers, and he wanted them immediately.
