Alexis protested a little too much and an amused Mike listened to her hem and haw about her relationship with Sonny. When Mike alluded to the fact that Sonny was with another woman, Alexis refuted that by saying that Sonny took his vows too seriously to cheat on Carly. She also said that if by some great chance Sonny did find someone else, she would wish him well. At the lakehouse, Sonny pulled away from Angel and told her that he couldn't get involved that way with her. Angel said that she didn't want a physical relationship with Sonny, she just wanted to know that he was safe. She also wanted their peace to continue and believed the best place for them was Greece. Sonny thanked her for looking out for him, but decided against going to Greece in favor of taking care of business in Port Charles. He had a cab waiting outside and Angel asked if he planned on returning to her. Sonny couldn't make any promises, but he said he would be careful. Alone, Angel burned pictures from her wedding, including one of Sorel. Though Sorel warned her to keep quiet, Carly yelled out to A.J. With Sorel's gun pressed to her side, Carly answered the door. She told A.J. that Sonny was dead and that she needed him to be sensitive to her grief. A.J. showed her the newspaper and asked how a dead man could threaten him. Carly knew nothing about the paper and said that Sonny's men had probably done it. A.J. didn't believe her, but Carly was desperate for him to stay with her. He pulled away and told her she had finally lost it. When A.J. left, Sorel warned Carly that she had made a grave mistake. Carly told him that she would die before she let him hurt her husband. Sorel admired her loyalty and wondered if she would be willing to give it to him instead of Sonny. Johnny and two of Sonny's other men debated on letting Sonny know that Sorel had Carly. While Johnny was in favor of telling Sonny, the other two thought Sonny wouldn't care because Carly was dead to him. Johnny ignored their orders and went in search of their boss. A few minutes after he left, Sonny strolled in and wanted to know what had happened in his absence. Neither of his men said anything about Carly. Later, Sonny and Alexis met on the docks and Alexis berated him for worrying her with his unexplained absence. Sonny apologized and she filled him in on everything that had happened with Zander and A.J. Then she told him that she had been spending a lot of time with Carly and asked if he wanted to know how his wife was doing without him. Zander finally got through to Emily and she agreed to leave town without him to go to rehab. It was a very difficult decision for them to live with, but Zander promised that they would only be apart until Sorel was captured. Alan and Monica thanked Zander for getting Emily to leave willingly and Edward grudgingly offered his thanks as well. In a moment alone, Skye confessed to Emily that she had initially been jealous of her, but she had come to realize that Emily was a wonderful and special person. Skye said that she felt very lucky to have Emily as a sister. Zander and Emily shared a final private moment where they pledged their love to each other. Alan and Monica wheeled Emily away with the family in tow. Zander's pain overwhelmed him as he watched her leave him and he cried alone.
