With Armored Core 6, FromSoftware brilliantly shows that its know-how is not limited to Dark Souls or Elden Ring. The Japanese studio delivers here an action game with a rather irreproachable gameplay, at the same time tactical, demanding and ultra-dynamic, spearheading a frantic pace title... Do not be fooled by the supposedly old-school structure with individual assignments. Fires of Rubicon immerses you directly in the action, and knows how to draw when necessary linear, more open phases, bosses, not to mention still impressive panoramas. Despite a slight disappointment for the major enemies, in the 2nd part of the adventure, and a small lack of content, Armored Core 6 is an addictive title, which sticks to the skin. A great action game, even if you don't have a crush on mechas.- Jeuxvideo.com

Cult of the Lamb is an action-management title that works devilishly well, with a strong concept - as a reminder: taking care of a demonic cult - that it holds from start to finish for ten / twenty hours game offered by the adventure. It's funny, cleverly thought out, deep enough that you never want to stop. The Massive Monster studio and the publisher Devolver Digital sign a new must-have from the independent scene, to be devoured without moderation. Prepare your most beautiful sermons!- Jeuxvideo.com

20 years. It is, often, the age symbolizing youth at its full potential. This is also the period between the release of Mario vs Donkey Kong on Game Boy Advance and its remake. It arrives exclusively on Nintendo Switch on February 16 and is the subject of an excellent makeover from "Big N". The reflection side still works just as well; features allow you to modernize the software; new content to extend its lifespan; without forgetting the more than careful graphics update which will make you forget the pixelated features of the original version. Mario vs Donkey Kong has gotten a big facelift thanks to a remake that we would like to see more often. A great game to look forward to the next plumber games. Remake or not.- Jeuxvideo.com

While it sometimes feels its age in terms of gameplay, Famicom Detective Club is nonetheless an excellent Visual Novel. The two proposed surveys are pleasant to follow while the visual rendering impresses. Its sublime artistic direction, mixing the new and the old, is practically worth the detour on its own. And too bad if the whole thing sometimes lacks interactivity, because the essential is there. We take pleasure in following these budding detectives in their discoveries. Too bad these very successful remakes do not benefit from a French translation despite their prohibitive price.- Jeuxvideo.com

Falcom has had a successful run with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter! By giving itself the means to achieve its ambitions, the Japanese studio delivers an ideal remake to discover its flagship franchise. Thanks to an excellent combat system, polished graphics, and above all, a successful French translation, the first adventures of Estelle and Joshua are more captivating and accessible than ever. And while the story is driven by a fascinating universe and endearing characters, we can still criticize that it takes a while to get going and suffers from some lengths. Now, we can't wait to discover the remake of the next episode, which is considered one of the best installments in the saga and is already in the pipeline...- Jeuxvideo.com

Once the adventure is over after eight hours of play, little Quill leaves a big mark in our minds. By integrating new weapons as well as new ways of interacting with both the scenery and the enemies, Moss Book II gains in depth. Although some environments, puzzles and adversaries are redundant, Polyarc's work is a delight. The element of surprise has certainly disappeared, but the intelligence of the design is still there. While Ghost of Yotei isn't the great game it appears to be in its first few hours, it's an excellent action-adventure game that marks a nice evolution from Ghost of Tsushima. Here, Sucker Punch studio takes a nice - even a very nice - step forward in terms of open world, notably thanks to a central play area that offers sumptuous panoramas and an impressive draw distance, and a constant generosity in terms of secondary activities. Even after 50 hours, we were still surprised by unexpected encounters and events, giving the feeling of evolving in an organic, living world. A sure bet on PS5.- Jeuxvideo.com

With Zenless Zone Zero, HoYoverse proves that it knows how to renew itself to remain the king of gacha. With its urban universe teeming with details, its original characters and its impressive cinematics, ZZZ benefits from a production value worthy of an AAA, even more than the previous productions of the Chinese studio. Besides that, the title does not forget the essentials with simple to access but high-level technical gameplay, with satisfactory endgame content even if the main plot is for the moment quite classic. With this solid foundation, we now look forward to seeing the evolution of Zenless Zone Zero in the long term, hoping that the follow-up will be as exemplary as that of Honkai Star Rail.- Jeuxvideo.com

After the masterful conclusion of Endwalker, Final Fantasy XIV leaves on new foundations with Dawntrail. Carried by its lighter tone and its endearing characters, it is in its second part that the adventure takes off, after a sluggish start and some less interesting passages. But more than anything, it is through its graphical update and its magnificent new areas that the experience wows us. With more exciting boss fights, two new fun jobs to play and plenty of comfort options, Dawntrail is an expansion that continues in the right direction instilled by Naoki Yoshida and his teams for over a decade. If it doesn't reinvent the wheel, Payday 3 modernizes its four-player heist formula with accuracy and intelligence, and that's all we ask of it. The eight missions available to date are well done - and make excellent use of the few new mechanics. All in all, the life of a “controller in hand” thug is still just as demanding. Even if we can criticize a slight lack of content, especially for the arsenal, this third part already sticks to the skin with a system of skills, difficulty modes which always make you want to start again and achieve the ideal run. A superb foundation for the future.- Jeuxvideo.com

With Reimagined, forget the laborious epic of the original Dragon Quest VII on PS1. More beautiful than ever with its unique aesthetic, the game offers a much more enjoyable, condensed adventure thanks to its numerous accessibility and difficulty options. In this customizable experience, combat gains depth through the richness of dual vocations, allowing for combinations that are as improbable as they are powerful. However, in addition to some flaws from the original game that are still present, this modernized version sometimes pushes the accessibility features too far, making the adventure too easy at times. But make no mistake: Dragon Quest VII Reimagined elevates a great RPG to new heights and will be a landmark title in the category of ambitious remakes.- Jeuxvideo.com

Sea of Stars has everything from an excellent tribute to the biggest names in Japanese role-playing games of the 90s. A well-paced story, a cast of characters to which we quickly become attached for their assumed personalities. It manages to do the same amazing job as its role models, thanks to its jaw-dropping art direction and adventure-perfect soundtrack. If the fights are engaging and push the player to think about each confrontation, they tend to lengthen the good dynamics of the title. It is especially by the lack of evolution of gameplay for the characters that the players will be able to find a certain weariness. If Sea of Stars is therefore not as revolutionary as its spiritual masters in their time, it should still have a place of choice on a shelf of your toy library in 2023. It may well establish itself as the independent game of the year if Silksong remains discreet or even claim prices from much fiercer competition. More than a great performance for a UFO from the 90s.- Jeuxvideo.com

Marvel's Midnight Suns manages to make tactical combat accessible to a new audience while showing great respect for the license it features. By choosing to create a new character, the Firaxis teams place the player at the center of this adventure, surrounded by a cast of five-star superheroes to please everyone. This desire is also felt in the tactical combat which advocates a more direct approach, but also more spectacular and satisfying thanks to a card system that is more intuitive than one could imagine. But in addition to its fairly slow pace of play, the title is particularly talkative with all the funny and friendly interactions they offer within the Abbey. Despite these small flaws, Firaxis manages to offer an experience that is both affordable to an audience unaccustomed to tactics and rich for fans of the genre thanks to its complex mechanics, while honoring the superheroes of the Marvel universe.- Jeuxvideo.com

If you've already fallen for Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! in 2014 or 2015, be aware that there is no need to go to the cash register again. The Oddworld Inhabitants remake is in every way similar to the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. We therefore find the same qualities as well as the same defects. However, if you're discovering the license today, we strongly recommend this version, since the title gains in flexibility thanks to the arrival of an addition of size, the nomadic side of the console which fits perfectly with the spirit of the Die & Retry title.- Jeuxvideo.com

With this Forza Motorsport 2023 edition, Turn 10 resets the counters and delivers a car racing game with a titanium chassis capable of carrying the license for several years. Beautiful, fluid, offering very good "simcade" driving sensations, it offers the right modes with the necessary parameters to satisfy almost everyone. Both ultra permissive (in its challenge) and restrictive (in the improvements to be unlocked), this reboot is a bit of a search. Aiming at a very wide audience thanks to its numerous options, it is nonetheless dedicated to fans of pretty cars, those who are able to go beyond its definitively austere appearance (and the absence of urban circuits) to let themselves be captivated by the joys of motorized competition, both solo and online. Nice job.- Jeuxvideo.com

After Nioh, Team Ninja once again proves its great mastery of action-RPG with Wo Long Fallen Dynasty. Admittedly, the copy is not perfect (bestiary not provided enough, rather disappointing endgame, side missions which take up areas already visited) but the gameplay is so solid that we are ready to excuse almost everything! Here, it's all about parry, martial arts and spells, in a novel approach for the genre. Most of the atmospheres are successful, there is plenty to choose your path as a warrior and everything is even more accessible than the studio's Japanese Souls-like. How exhilarating it is to travel the Wild West in the shoes of John Marston once again. Red Dead Redemption ages like a fine whiskey and proves that a video game work ahead of its time ignores the ravages of time. All the qualities of the original game are found in this PC version and much more. Playable in optimal conditions at 144 frames per second in 4K, Rockstar Games' western is living its best life on PC 14 years after its first ride on home consoles, even if it obviously suffers from the comparison with Red Dead Redemption 2.- Jeuxvideo.com

An excellent pickaxe.- Jeuxvideo.com

With The War Within, World of Warcraft is enjoying a third youth. Like Cataclysm in its time, it modernizes the MMORPG formula in a very competitive environment. No major revolution, but an improvement in thickness of the foundations put in place by Dragonflight: this is how The War Within shines. Enough to wait for the next updates, and of course the other two expansions of the saga, with unprecedented impatience.- Jeuxvideo.com

Final Fantasy XVI is a title with a fascinating proposal, unfortunately hampered by certain aspects. Going even deeper into the action than its predecessor, the game delivers spectacular combat and rich possibilities thanks to the powers of the Primordials. These confrontations have all the more impact as they take place within an exciting story and a mature and credible universe. It is also on the graphic level that FFXVI puts your eyes on it through its clashes of Primordials and its environments, despite a fluctuating framerate in performance mode. Unfortunately, all of this is marred somewhat by linear levels, limited exploration, and sketchy staging that create a disconnect with the modernity of the rest of the experience. Despite these dated elements, the Final Fantasy saga proves with this episode and FFVII Remake that it is still able to amaze, more than 35 years after its debut.- Jeuxvideo.com

Titanic, massive… adjectives fail to describe the immensity of Starfield. Shining like a sun, Bethesda's software is indeed the Skyrim in space that SF enthusiasts hope for. Admittedly, by not revolutionizing any mechanics specific to the genre, the software can be seen as a small nebulous step for the C-RPG. But it's a giant leap for great video game adventures, even if some features lack depth. Gigantic, captivating in its missions, full of things to do and discover, Starfield is an undeniable success. With its original New Game +, it will enchant you for countless hours.- Jeuxvideo.com

Like the first episode, Death Stranding 2 is a game that will divide opinion, but not for the same reasons. Kojima Productions delivers a more mainstream sequel here, both in terms of writing and gameplay, and purists may miss the roughness of the 2019 title. But what DS2 loses in "personality", it gains in pace and variety. Progression is more generous and stimulating than in the past, and the action-infiltration phases accompany very well a gameplay loop that is still as gripping, based on delivery and movement optimization. And then, what can we say about the technique and artistic direction, which are of very high quality! In short, Death Stranding 2 is excellent, but is it a great game? It probably lacks a little spark for that...- Jeuxvideo.com

By adding varied missions, a structured career, and spectacular graphical improvements, they are opening the skies to an even wider audience while respecting the legacy of the franchise. Of course, adjustments are necessary, particularly for the server infrastructure and they could correct certain sometimes difficult aspects, but the overall experience remains an invitation to explore our planet in a new light. An ambitious takeoff, certainly a little turbulent, but which promises beautiful horizons.- Jeuxvideo.com

Gran Turismo 7 is a real return to the series' roots, one that fans have been waiting for. It brings together within it the multi and community aspect of GT Sport while rediscovering the "RPG of the racing game" aspect of the first four opuses with a well-structured and scalable GT mode. The driving is both technical and accessible, benefiting from great precision which offers a good margin of progress. 420 vehicles, 90 tracks on 34 circuits and mission and license modes for those who like small challenges, it promises a phenomenal lifespan to all car simulation fans. Although we would have appreciated a less plan-plan artificial intelligence, GT7 regains its acclaim to once again become The Complete Real Driving Simulator that we have always loved.- Jeuxvideo.com

Three years after the release of the Director's Cut version on PS5, Ghost of Tsushima finally arrives on PC in the most beautiful way. Like the ports of Horizon: Forbidden West and Spider-Man, the Nixxes studio once again manages to brilliantly port one of PlayStation's exclusives. With all the graphics options available to players, it's difficult to find better conditions to enjoy the title of Suckerpunch than this PC version, provided you have the following configuration of course. An excellent way to rediscover Ghost of Tsushima while waiting for the announcement of a possible second episode.- Jeuxvideo.com

If one feels the mechanics of the old-school 3D platformer at the heart of the structure of Psychonauts 2, the reunion with Raz has never been so modern and pleasant. Funny, touching, ultra creative, more precise in its gameplay than before, Psychonauts 2 is a generous and rhythmic game, which offers between 15 and 20 hours of a particularly successful experience. Certainly, we will deplore a challenge in withdrawal, bosses perhaps less crazy than in the past or the absence of French dubbing, but nothing to sulk his pleasure in the face of this breathless, funny and touching adventure located in a universe that it is so refreshing to explore.- Jeuxvideo.com

A successful bet for our little pink ball! This transition to 3D is a resounding success and gives more depth to this Nintendo universe, usually more in the background than the giants of the firm (Mario, Zelda and other Pokémon). Between well-thought-out new features and emblematic elements, Kirby has undeniably found the right formula and delivers us an excellent surprise. Everything is simple, of course, but it works and it is difficult to let go of the console. So yes, the world is less open than we thought, yes you will find few real challenges there, but we quickly forget that once the game is launched. A little breath of fresh air that feels good and constitutes an excellent gateway to the Kirby universe.- Jeuxvideo.com

Batman: Arkham Shadow is quite simply the best virtual reality video game since Half-Life: Alyx, and that's saying something. Camouflaj's creation is not a "simple" VR experience. On the contrary, it is a full-fledged adventure that fits perfectly into the Arkhamverse and guarantees total immersion. The studios have managed to transpose the gameplay that made the series successful, whether it be combat, investigations and infiltration, while adding their own personal touch. In Arkham Shadow, you don't play Batman... You are Batman and that makes all the difference. Aside from a few bugs and a slight feeling of repetitiveness after several hours, Camouflaj is flawless.- Jeuxvideo.com
