    There’s hours of gameplay across both Kingdom Battle and now Donkey Kong Adventure, if you haven’t already bought into this new franchise. And with the added capacity to take the game on-the-go as a portable gaming experience, the value for money and Nintendo Switch buy-in here, and with Nintendo’s other key exclusives, is starting to look harder and harder to resist. At least from where we’re sitting.

    The Donkey Kong Adventure DLC brings a fresh angle to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, giving fans of the original something different to get their teeth into. It’s less daunting than the main game, with some truly powerful characters often making short work of the slightly-lessened enemy onslaught, but blasting through the campaign in this way offers a nice way to enjoy the comical ride. The lack of character options is perhaps the only downer here, taking away some of the deeper strategy involved in the full game, but we still loved every moment of our time with DK and friends.

    Donkey Kong Adventure clocks in at around 3-4 hours just to complete the story, though you can add on another few hours if you’re trying to do everything the DLC has to offer. It’s every bit as good as the main campaign, yet it manages to work in some new additions and surprises to keep things fresh. Even if you have no interest in the other components of the Mario + Rabbids season pass, Donkey Kong Adventure is easily worth the price, and it’s the next best thing to a proper sequel.

    Donkey Kong Adventure is a very good add-on to the original Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle which provides plenty of fun. The XCOM-lite formula works well and you'll need a good 10h of play to get thru this DLC. A very decent offer indeed.

    Donkey Kong Adventure is a very welcome expansion to the Mario + Rabbids universe and even if it is not the most ambitious expansion of all time, what it adds to the main game in terms of three marvelous characters and the variety of enemies and goals that come along with them is more than enough to make any fans of the original game fully satisfied with this additional element.

    Donkey Kong Adventure feels like a lick of fresh paint on the same experiences that were provided during Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Whilst the inclusion of Donkey Kong changes the way that you strategise; Donkey Kong Adventure is rather predictable and I did get fatigued with it by the second world.

    This additional story featuring Donkey Kong is heaps of fun, and it can actually feel like a full sequel (for example, the hub world and collectibles are unique). Gameplay is similar to the main game, but there are differences, mostly due to Donkey Kong's unique abilities. I'm glad they brought Rabbid Peach along too; she's as funny here as she is in the main game.

    The price is very reasonable, and I honestly cannot think of much to criticise this on (I guess if you didn't like the main game, you probably won't like this either, but if you did like the main game, you'll probably love it). THIS is how you do DLC. A must-buy for Mario + Rabbids fans.    … Expand

    Donkey Kong is a monster: can grab anything and launch it anywhere. Best combo so far: grab an enemy, launch him on a cover block that explodes, then have it bounce out of the battleground = massive damage. ez ;)
    I think I'm somewhat midway on the story (played 5hrs) and I'm having solid fun.

You can't select your team this time: you play the entire DLC with the same three characters, two of which are new.

    Pros:
    - More of the same great (and underappreciated) game.
    - Fantastic new characters and environments.
    - A generous amount of new content.

    Cons:
    - Easier than the main game, with wildly overpowered characters (although that could be a pro!)
    - The sliding blocks puzzles start to feel stale by the end.
    - The graphics are great, but there are a few issues with low resolution and pop-in.    … Expand

The overworld is charming but is cluttered with same old puzzles from the original game "move blocks and push switches for the eight millionth time" it got old really fast in the original game and they are back full force here. Other then that it's a well done dlc with even better visuals then the original with some awsome and hilarious cutscenes with great new ideas, however it's over faster then you know it and doesn't even come close to a challenge if you beat expert levels in the original game. Hate to say it but I think I it would have been better to save the time and resources and start working on proper sequel right away instead of this.… Expand
