    NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… is one of the most carefully constructed re-releases in recent memory. I was delighted to see just how much of the original experience remained intact, with the bulk of alterations focused on its visuals and combat. While I am happy that NieR: Automata remains a resounding success, its influence over this updated release of NieR hasn’t robbed it of its unique identity; this is, by and large, the NieR that I fell in love with. I think all the new content that has been added to Replicant ver.1.22 is all worth seeing. Looking back at my journey once more with Nier, Kainé, and Emil, I am so happy that one of the most underappreciated games gets another chance to show why it is so special again.

    While the game takes a leap in graphical quality, it is more of a short step then a broad jump. Furthermore, Nier Replicant still suffers from the same dull sidequests and the redundant open world it did eleven years ago. However, once you put all this behind you, focus on the fluent combat and enjoy the amazing story, Nier Replicant is a unique experience rarely seen in videogames.

    This game is awesome so far, put in a good 20 hrs its just objectively better that the one we got originally. It looks better, the rerecorded voices are better and even fantastic where they need to be. And the music that they redid is phenomenal with some much emotion just gives me goosebumps every time i hear it. The story and music are what really steals the show overall and the combat overhaul alleviated my biggest criticism of the original and is great this time. I cant wait to get all endings again i detect another game to Platinum :D (Also cant wait for the next game in this fantastic series, and tbh i would take another Drakengaurd as well please )… Expand

    A trilha sonora aqui, segue sendo uma das mais marcantes que eu já ouvi na minha vida. A história é simplesmente épica, linda e cheia de desastres. Os plot twists, como de costume em NieR, são completamente insanos. Destaque para a história de Kainé.
    É uma jornada épica que justifica muitas coisas de Automata e expande esse universo.
    Fiquei sem chão ao notar que antes da história da 2B e 9S, ocorreram tantas coisas nesse mundo. Chorei assim como chorei em Automata.
    Serão para sempre meus 2 jogos favoritos.    … Expand

    Music - 9/10 (imho Automata wins this one but the music is quite good especially for a 11 year old game)
    Gameplay - 8/10 (The sidequests are **** even for a game thats 11 years old, but some of them have an OK story to cover it, most of them dont. Combat is really good and fluid, on par with Automata. The Word system is also well balanced but it falls short if you play on anything other than the Hard difficulty.    … Expand

    I'm quite far in the game, and decided I'll leave a short review already, because I don't think my impression of the game will change much.I'm quite far in the game, and decided I'll leave a short review already, because I don't think my impression of the game will change much. Game is ok. In some aspects it exceeds Automata, mainly with characters who are much more colourful and more entertaining then those in Automata. But in terms of fetch quests it is way way worse. Both games suffer from similar bad design issues thought, as fetch quest in Automata are also tedious and combat although smooth and flashy gets quickly repetitive. Later on in the game enemies just become damage sponges. But I think that's because of small worlds both games have, although both have nice vistas to look at. I recon that if the worlds would be bigger and more intricate, combat would be good enough. Story is not bad and better then in Automata. Music is again fantastic and drives the playthrough. But just like with Automata where I only completed Route A and didn't want to play more, here I'm not even sure if I will complete the game. I probably will, but at least half of the game is a slog. I had much more fun with Trials of Mana remake. That one, although much more simple in its design, is way more entertaining. Still, I recommend this one at a discounted price.… Expand
