Like many modern entries in the series, it occasionally struggles with pacing and an overemphasis on action in its later moments, but those issues are easy to forgive thanks to its confident blend of survival horror and spectacle. As the story unfolds, the tension builds around its vulnerable protagonist and the eerie environments that surround her, creating a sense of dread that feels both familiar and refreshed. Resident Evil Requiem may not radically reinvent the franchise, but it successfully captures the spirit that made the series iconic, delivering a thrilling horror experience that longtime fans have been waiting for.

Easily the best Resident Evil game in many years, with inspirations from both RE2’s survival horror and RE4’s more action horror. Paced perfectly, and with plenty of surprises to discover, I can’t recommend Resident Evil Requiem highly enough.

Having 2 main protagonists with such a different game style was a bold choice, but Capcom nailed it. Resident Evil Requiem feels not only a refreshing take on the Resident Evil series, but it also manages to add some interesting lore, along with offering us a great blend of horror and action. There are plenty of jaw-dropping moments, along with fan service and two endings that will certainly make you think what will happen next. And although I played every Resident Evil until Requiem, I didn’t know how Grace would fit in, considering how expansive the series had become. She is a stellar addition to the series, and having Leon back was definitely a blast. All in all, Resident Evil Requiem is an excellent game, a stunning entry for the series and it will keep you glued to the screen no matter if you’re killing enemies as Leon or experiencing true survival horror as Grace.

Resident Evil 9 sets a new standard for modern survival horror and is currently one of the most visually stunning games available on PC.

Resident Evil Requiem is one of the series’ best outings in recent years. Delivering on the action and scares, the game shows what makes the franchise so special. It can fall into the trap of fan service, but never falters much in what it sets out to do. Yes, it’s February and, yes, it is cliché, but Requiem is already one of 2026’s best and an experience that fans and newcomers won’t be able to get enough of.

Resident Evil Requiem is a spectacular return, expertly blending classic horror with modern action starring Leon and Grace. It boasts incredible design, fantastic visuals, and superb optimization. While it lacks classic puzzles and mission variety, these minor flaws are easily overshadowed by its compelling narrative, excellent pacing, and genuine fan service, carving an exciting future for the series.

Resident Evil Requiem succeeds in breathing new life into the series rather than relying on nostalgia. The nostalgic elements, updated gameplay mechanics, the ease of playing from different perspectives, and the surprises combine to create a Resident Evil storm that will keep you glued to your seat for hours. But I must add this: Those expecting the revolutionary change Resident Evil 7 brought may not find what they're looking for.
