With Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the Nintendo Switch welcomes a new essential role-playing game in its catalog. Far from the lightness of tone of the second episode, the title delivers a captivating scenario, rich in twists and emotions, aided by a beautiful soundtrack. By taking up the basics of the two previous games, the gameplay gains in dynamism and benefits from many effective and complex mechanics, even if the fights suffer from readability problems like the other games in the series. And if the exploration through vast panoramas remains as pleasant as ever, this pleasure is still affected by a technique which displays visual shortcomings on several occasions. Not enough to spoil this memorable adventure exclusive to Nintendo's hybrid console either.- Jeuxvideo.com

While in substance and form FF7 Remake remains an excellent J-RPG on PC, we can only be disappointed by the “little arms” aspect of this port. The title runs fine on a mid-range machine, but the near absence of graphics settings and incompatibility with ultrawide screens make the toll bitter. So this version does not do much justice to its support and there is more to hope for, perhaps, a life-saving update.- Jeuxvideo.com

Undoubtedly the best opus of the license released to date. In addition to the already gargantuan lifespan, further improved in solo and multiplayer thanks to a My NBA mode boosted by the choice of 4 eras, the return of the Jordan Challenge, the co-op mode in My Team and the Career Theater, the gameplay in will delight some. The former crazy dribblers are now limited online and must think collectively, the shooting timing is more demanding, but much fairer and a lot of new animations come to shake up the regulars. Graphically impeccable, taking in immersion with old-school skins for period matches, the title enters the Hall of Fame. Only gray areas, the usual desire (or even need) to take out the credit card to get more VC and advance your player, a matchmaking that is still quite unbalanced and some crashes on certain career quests. Even MJ can have flaws.- Jeuxvideo.com

Far from lazy porting, Wild Rift makes complete sense on mobile. Its intelligent ergonomics create gripping confrontations and manages to restore what makes League of Legends salt. More accessible, shorter and less frustrating, the games of this mobile version could represent a perfect compromise for players who have dropped out of LoL and its grueling games, or for those left on the sidelines by its demanding prerequisites. For others, this experience is a logical extension of Summoner's Rift and has a place on their phones. If we regret a set back content or a few missing options here and there, Wild Rift is nonetheless an exceptional mobile experience that manages to superbly transcribe the sensations of one of the greatest competitive games in the world.- Jeuxvideo.com

It's difficult to write a complete review when the great strengths of the game in question revolve around surprise. But with Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Nintendo delivers an almost perfect performance. Almost fifteen after New Super Mario Bros. Wii, this new episode reconnects the series of 2D platform games with the exceptional. While remaining faithful to it and keeping its gameplay devilishly simple and effective, it brings new ideas that hit the mark. The entire production is reminiscent of a musical comedy which never ceases to dazzle the player both in form and content. Mario is off to Wonderland, and so are we.- Jeuxvideo.com

Addictive, varied, precise, coherent, relevant, Rogue Legacy 2 serves as the ideal sequel to the cult 2013 game that popularized rogue-lite. But more than doing better on absolutely every level (classes, weapons, traits), the Cellar Door Games studio is setting a new benchmark in the genre thanks to a clever mix of metroidvania and randomly generated levels. It's simple, the whole thing works like hell. Never frustrating, always giving the feeling of moving forward, constantly reviving the pleasure of the game with different powers and heroes to embody, Rogue Legacy 2 returns and marks the rogue-lite with a red iron. Hades II succeeds in this crazy gamble of respecting the essence of its predecessor while adding layers: enriched gameplay, deeper narrative, reinforced artistic direction, grandiose soundtrack. That said, the game does not completely transcend repetitiveness—cycle after cycle, run after run, we end up recognizing the same biomes, the same room constructions, the same visual motifs—which can limit the wonder after long sessions. If you accept this condition—that repetition is part of the journey—then you will live an adventure blessed by the Gods.- Jeuxvideo.com

What an adventure ! Hogwarts Legacy is definitely the game all Harry Potter fans have been waiting for. Beautiful, lively, exhilarating and surprising, it drips with passion and magic and is a real pleasure to browse. But that's not all ! With its very good ideas, its world just waiting to be explored, its art direction to die for and its combat system as addictive as it is magical, it is quite simply an excellent action and adventure game. We would have liked choices with more impact or a proposal a little off the beaten track. As you will have understood, there are many things to say about Hogwarts Legacy. But to leave you the surprise, we let you discover the magic of this game which will very clearly mark the year 2023. And, who knows, it may be a potential good candidate for the GOTY...- Jeuxvideo.com

No doubt: Resident Evil 4 Remake is simply an excellent horror action game and Capcom proves, for the umpteenth time, its ability to produce a controlled adventure with an exemplary finish. The basics of the original game couldn't be more solid, but the firm has been able to modernize the whole thing to make the adventure more intense, deeper in its game systems and even more thrilling. Was a remake necessary? Maybe not, but impossible to spit on this impressive version, which knows how to honor the original material as well as to bring it a rejuvenation that is ultimately very relevant. Finally, if we have a mad desire to finish Resident Evil 4 as soon as possible, it is to start it again immediately.- Jeuxvideo.com

During our preview, we decreed that Stellar Blade could become the new star of action gaming. Today, after more than thirty hours of play, we are able to confirm it as the clever mix of genres it offers us keeps us in suspense from start to finish, despite the multiple hiccups highlighted in our test . If we had had expectations about it for months and months, Stellar Blade easily exceeds them. The gameplay continues to get more spicy, the styles of play increase tenfold the way of approaching combat, the universe and the graphics carry us away and the joint work of Shift Up and Monaca on the music really makes it an adventure that has nothing to be ashamed of in the face of NieR: Automata or the other big names.- Jeuxvideo.com

Spider-Man 2 is a very successful mainstream blockbuster, which will easily please fans of the license. The adventure is more explosive than ever, with technique that is sometimes truly impressive, a New York twice as big as in the past and even more in-depth side missions. That being said, Insomniac relies a little too much on the strengths (and weaknesses) of previous games, missing the opportunity to take the gameplay and writing a little further. In the end, it lacks a bit of momentum, of material to give life to a second episode that meets our expectations, but we still had an excellent time.- Jeuxvideo.com

Successful bet for our little pink ball! This transition to 3D is a great success and gives more depth to this Nintendo universe, usually further back than the giants of the firm (Mario, Zelda and other Pokémon). Between well-thought-out novelties and emblematic elements, Kirby has undeniably found the right formula and gives us an excellent surprise. Everything is simple, of course, but it works and it is difficult to let go of the console. So yes, the world is less open than we thought, yes you will find few real challenges there, but we quickly forget that once the game is launched. A little breath of fresh air that feels good and is an excellent gateway into the world of Kirby.- Jeuxvideo.com

With Fire Emblem Engage, the Nintendo Switch offers itself a first quality exclusivity at the start of 2023. Like Three Houses, the fights are always fluid and accessible, and even benefit from spectacular animations which reinforce the pleasure of play. also in depth thanks to the Emblem Fusion mechanic which offers tools to approach situations with intelligence. Beyond the quality of the design of its friendly characters, the title also shines with its successful graphic rendering for the Nintendo Switch, even if we note sometimes poor environments and a static staging. Finally, it is more by its not always practical menus and its classic story and more interventionist than Three Houses that the experience is a little fishing. Not enough to sulk the pleasure of this new Fire Emblem which remains an excellent way to start the year controller in hand.- Jeuxvideo.com

Oxenfree 2 is excellent entertainment whose magic lies mainly in its gripping writing, well-constructed characters, and absolutely brilliant sound work, voice acting and music included. Alan Wake 2 is a completely unique adventure, an “author's game” that goes beyond the boundaries of video games... The Remedy studio appropriates here all the forms of art that it loves so much, moving from experience video game to live-action film, or from concert to photography. Clear-cut biases which give it all its charm, but which - on the contrary - can also be off-putting. What's more, as a video game, this second episode is not free of flaws either, and we regret jump scares that are a little too present and an open construction that quickly goes in circles. For the rest, it is a remarkable adventure, if not memorable.- Jeuxvideo.com

Civilization VII is a real success. When you are the old behemoth of a genre that has welcomed new faces in recent years, it is often difficult to adapt, but the developers at Firaxis have perfectly fulfilled their mission by drawing inspiration from the best elements of the competition while keeping what makes the series strong. The separation into distinct ages with different directions and the many ways to adapt our strategy allow for engaging games right to the end, where weariness often took over at the end of the game in previous games. With a top-notch soundtrack and more refined and detailed visuals, Civ 7 will attract all audiences even if the user interface probably deserves some fixes. Although we would have liked a less invasive DLC policy from the start, there is no doubt that you will spend long nights playing “just one last round” and that you will not regret it. Excellent opus!- Jeuxvideo.com

Inscryption is much, much more than a deck building game. Rogue lite, escape game, horror, adventure ... the title of Daniel Mullins Games is a game of everything, which succeeds almost everything it does. By never giving the player time to be bored, offering a well thought out narration and never hesitating to surprise the player who thought they had covered the matter, Inscryption is a small UFO in the video game. If the second part of the game turns out to be a little disappointing and the random dimension may frustrate people less used to the genre, it's hard not to warmly recommend this experience as strange as it is surprising.- Jeuxvideo.com

Cyberpunk 2077 on Nintendo Switch 2 succeeds where few expected. Accepting the technical compromises required for this format, the experience is robust, immersive, and close to the console versions in terms of content. It was a risky bet, but it's generally a success. This port demonstrates that Nintendo's new console is capable of hosting recent AAA titles without relying on the cloud, which opens up interesting prospects for the future of the catalog.- Jeuxvideo.com

With Mario Kart World, Nintendo delivers a solid launch game for the Nintendo Switch 2. The new gameplay mechanics, survival mode, and art direction are all successes. The open world, meanwhile, adds a fresh feel without being entirely convincing over time. The title doesn't revolutionize the series as we might have thought, but it intelligently enriches the formula, while offering plenty of room for improvement and immediate gameplay fun. While we were entitled to expect more, Mario Kart World remains an excellent game that paves a whole new path for Nintendo's iconic series.- Jeuxvideo.com

If certain points still deserve a little work, we are light years away from what we were offered only 4 years ago with WWE 2K20. An unsatisfactory episode for many players of the license. The roster is huge, the immersion and visual rendering are clean, despite the few flaws that we mentioned. On the gameplay side, the controls are easy to master and the progression curve is very pleasant. The tribute to 40 years of Wrestlemania in the Showcase mode is totally successful and even if that is not what interests you, you will inevitably find what you are looking for in one of the many game modes. It therefore seems to us that if we don't yet have the perfect game for wrestling and WWE fans, we're still starting to seriously get closer.- Jeuxvideo.com

Thanks to its upgrade, Cyberpunk 2077 finally offers a gaming experience on PS5 and Xbox Series at the height of what it should have been at its launch in December 2020. More beautiful, more stable and better optimized than in backward compatibility : those who had waited for the next-gen patch will finally be able to enjoy the adventure in good conditions. But beyond these technical considerations, if patch 1.5 brings some welcome adjustments (more responsive crowd, improved but still perfectible driving and ergonomics...), the title remains globally identical to the PC version despite a less impressive visual rendering. More than a year after its release, Cyberpunk 2077 remains an RPG with a fascinating universe and impeccable writing that remains plagued by immersion-breaking bugs and an artificial intelligence that falls short. Now that CD Projekt has finally honored its promises, we can't wait to see what the Polish studio has in store for the future of its futuristic open-world with new DLCs.- Jeuxvideo.com

Diving back into this Silent Hill 2 completely rebuilt by Konami is like returning to a childhood village dear to our hearts decades later, or coming across a fiery declaration written by a person with whom ties have been broken... everything is there as in memories, but everything is different too. James Sunderland is back, accompanied by his eternal demons. If our hero has doubts about the necessity of his coming to the heart of the cursed city, we no longer have any: this trying journey is a dream for fans, as much as it will be a nightmare for others. Within this striking story of which we are the Eros (and Thanatos), the infernal round trips to the confines of darkness - even more numerous than in 2001 - will leave tourists on the side of the road. Bloober Team has written a love letter primarily to Silent Hill 2 fans. A letter at least as powerful as the one addressed to survival horror fans 23 years earlier, written by Team Silent.- Jeuxvideo.com

Let's be clear, the Total War series is still going strong with Warhammer III. There is no upheaval in the gameplay, but there are good, very good ideas to keep us going on the game. The emphasis has been placed on role-playing and the universe, as for the precedents Total War: Warhammer and the scenario of the campaign imposes a breathless rhythm which works wonders. The few technical problems do not spoil the party. If you are a fan of Total War combat or the Warhammer license, you will love it.- Jeuxvideo.com

GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon has potential, for sure. It will only take a few tweaks and additional rooms to become a highly commendable Rogue-lite. As it stands, we mainly regret the jumps that are a little too steep, and the ergonomic and questionable balancing choices. With very solid foundations that do honor to the 2019 opus, the series innovates, bringing new gameplay, new equipment clearly welcome. Above all, the progression is much smoother - with a nice job on the system to unlock weapons! Somewhere, everything is done to welcome new players and this is a very good point. Even the third-person mode is surprisingly successful. Overall, this opus will undoubtedly lose the purists accustomed to faster gameplay. Path of Exile 2, more accessible and visually appealing than its predecessor, remains a complex old-school game that will appeal to fans of muscular combat. This difficulty, which is nevertheless the heart of the game, can however discourage newcomers or people who are not used to taking their heads. It remains ideal for those looking for a long-term experience, it might not suit casual players or fans of simplified mechanics like Diablo 4. Is the €27.75 supporter pack worth it despite the future free game? Yes, because it already offers much more than some recent AA or AAA. In early access, Path of Exile 2 still promises a lot (narration, new classes, end-game content, bug fixes). For an optimal and free experience, you can also wait for the final version. This title, demanding and focused on improvement, is a worthy successor to the first opus, cut out for players ready to take on many challenges. [Early Access Score = 85]- Jeuxvideo.com

Solasta 2 is a role-playing game brimming with promise—potential just waiting to be realized—though bringing it to fruition will require time: both development time and playtime, in the hope of fulfilling the dreams of Dungeons & Dragons and RPG fans alike. More linear than other titles in the genre, it leverages its original setting, its fidelity to D&D, and its tactical combat as its true strengths. Unfortunately, the lack of freedom, the still-limited playtime, and the bugs encountered serve as reminders of its current state: that of an Early Access title. While awaiting the 1.0 release, this title from Tactical Adventures remains a passion project well worth keeping a close eye on. [Early Access Score = 70]- Jeuxvideo.com

While almost everything about Hytale is reminiscent of Minecraft, Hypixel's title manages to generate interest, even in early access. Even better, we had a great time playing it, both in Exploration mode and Creative mode (despite a few issues "beyond our control," as they say). With this early access, Astral Ascent proves that it has the weapons to carve out a place for itself in the competitive roguelite genre. Thanks to its colorful pixel art graphics, detailed animations and polished soundtrack, the Hibernian Workshop title offers pleasant environments to browse. However, the fights are not left out since the game offers nervous gameplay and many build possibilities that make each run interesting. Despite everything, a few slight flaws overshadow the picture, such as problems with readability or even a lack of logical content for early access. The FPS, yet using a particularly aging engine, therefore takes all the codes of its ancestors with bravery to allow players to evolve in levels built with intelligence, to participate in joyful and dynamic clashes and to observe sublime panoramas. However, taking the old formula literally, the title is sorely lacking in identity. We will then have to face a universe that we have already crossed 100 times. Unfortunately, this is not the only problem with retro production. The title also suffers from a certain repetition, the fault of a particularly shy bestiary. In this first version released in Early Access, inZOI reveals itself to be an ambitious project, rich in innovative ideas and with undeniable potential. The graphics are stunning, and the character creator and the build mode are already very enjoyable to play. However, the game also highlights significant shortcomings, both technically and conceptually. The artificial intelligence lacks substance, and the open world, despite its size, is desperately empty and not very interactive. Social relationships, the pillar of life simulations, suffer from enormous inconsistencies and bugs that mar the experience. We can only believe in the promise of continuous improvements, supported by a detailed roadmap, which suggests a brighter future. In its current state, inZOI is a (very) rough diamond, even an unbaked cake that we can't wait to taste, but much later. [Early Access Score = 65]- Jeuxvideo.com

As it stands, Super Dungeon Maker lays a solid foundation that early access will have to flesh out for the title to reveal its potential. Quite limited at the moment, whether in tutorials or elements and sometimes imprecise in its construction mode, the title of Firechick nevertheless has enough functions to create original and slightly complex dungeons, as evidenced by certain creations of the community which was able to push the game to its limits. It only remains for Super Dungeon Maker to remain attentive to the feedback of its followers, as is already the case today and to take advantage of early access to give substance to its ambitions. For the time being, you will certainly have the feeling of having seen everything in about ten hours, but should have enough fun to make the investment worth it. Disney Dreamlight Valley has a hybrid concept that works well. Couple that with the wonderful world of Disney and you have two very good reasons to immerse yourself in it daily. But the Gameloft title is still under construction and that has something to spoil the experience (bugs, risky optimization, repetitiveness, etc.). If you like first-person stealth/action games that leave plenty of room for creativity and the “retro” graphic style doesn't scare you, you can try Gloomwood's early access without any worries. This Victorian “Dishonored/Thief”, with an atmosphere close to a survival-horror, already benefits from an exceptional level design, making it possible to vary the approaches widely. The desire to offer “early 2000s PC gaming” sensations is there, very clearly, with however the necessary adjustments for a title coming out in 2022. The result is a mixture of very pleasant sensations, as if our Pentium MMX had miraculously crossed the ages, and that developers continued to release games there against all odds. However, we must be aware that this early access, impeccably clean, is only a big prologue and that the best is surely to come. [Early Access Score = 80]- Jeuxvideo.com
