    Sekiro is the fabulous culmination of From Software’s modus operandi, honed relentlessly since 2009. While it plays like its predecessors, it also feels different and fresh.

    It is the best SoulsBorne game since the original Dark Souls, a tremendous victory lap for the genre that pushes the series in a fascinating direction, revitalizing its most stale features and introducing bold new ones.

    Going in to this review I wasn’t sure if Sekiro was going to be simply a ninja re-skin of Dark Souls, but there’s more than enough that’s different, and improved, that it stands on its own within the genre, even if it’s from the same developers. Like every other FromSoftware title, the difficulty is either going to be what drives you to become better, or make you shy away. I believe that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is going to be on many Game of the Year lists for 2019, and for good reason.

    From Software mixes well-proven and new gameplay elements to deliver an incredibly challenging and satisfying game, within a captivating Asian environment. It could have been bett-optimized and it's a pity it can't reach 60 fps on Xbox One X, but this undoubtedly is a must-have for all lovers of skill-demanding action games.

    Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is effectively the offspring of what would happen if Dark Souls and Tenchu got frisky under the covers on a weekend trip out to the lake. It’s devilishly difficult, supremely stylish and fantastically realised. It’s just a shame that FromSoftware still hasn’t fixed the camera issues and shonky lock-on system a whole ten years after the first Souls game.

    The combination of classic action titles with the Dark Souls formula is truly phenomenal. Sekiro shows that there is room for complex games, although the high degree of difficulty is likely to discourage many.

    Best FROM game in terms of pure gameplay. Doesn't have a lot of replayability but its pure action throughout.

It doesn’t require full on stealth while still allowing it, and includes break-neck melee combat against threats of massive proportions with a heightened excitement of a new IP. It’s sincerely imaginative and supports a focused experience that down sizes some of From Software’s previous senses without losing its new feel and mystery. Sekiro is an amazing new twist on a familiar set of ideas that can stand on its own alongside its predecessors. From the moment I began the game I knew I was in for a AAA giant game that was definitely in the running for Game Of The Year. Sekiro is a truly new expression of the designs philosophy that FromSoftware has spent years refining. Mega-Fans will rejoice in every second of tense combat, rich environments, challenging and puzzle based boss battling, and stealth-killing enemies to glory. This is a boss-battle focused game with a target lock-on and is pretty much ninja gaming perfection. If you’re into 50-60 hours of intense story telling and over the top balanced gaming, then you have found it. If you haven’t bought this game yet. Why? Adventures are not supposed to be easy they're supposed to be long, captivating, mysterious, magical, and challenging. While I did start off with a rough time on one of the first bosses something just clicked with me that instantly hooked me, I understood the game and that's all it takes to fall in love with it. This game is an absolute joy to play, and it's an experience from start to finish, while it's a Niche genre I do believe this game is a masterwork and an example to other game developers. Do yourself a favor, if you like a good challenge, a great story, fantastic satisfying gameplay, and amazing scenery purchase Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. You won't regret it.… Expand

    First things first, I have not beaten the game. In fact, I even gave up on it for a while as I am terrible at souls-like games. But after recently giving it another go, I have been having a genuinely amazing time playing the game. Nothing is more satisfying than struggling on a boss for a while and then finally landing that last death blow and ending the fight. To anyone looking for a challenge, I would definitly reccomend this game. Not to mention this game has a phenomenal movement system that will have you feeling like Spiderman at times.
