Final Fantasy XV is a must play for this end of the year. It features a concise narrative storyline but a massive amount of side quests in a huge open world to elevate the game's longevity beyond a hundred hours.

Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition brings a nice set of content to a two-year old experience, which includes an extended map, a new/awesome action in Armiger Unleashed, new vehicles to work with and a more open world feel to it all.

The best version of Final Fantasy XV so far. Plenty of content and DLCs included to spend hundreds of hours leading Noctis and his mates to restore the kingdom of Lucis. Even it still needs to improve the story, the game feels more elaborated and well developed than one year and a half ago. Perfect chance for a second opportunity.

I enjoyed it a lot, as it has not been for a very long time with a video game in this generation.
With over 150 hours and more playing time I never get tired of playing with it.
And for this I highly recommend it to all videogames fans.

This is the greatest game to exist in all of human history. That’s no joke. There’s no punchline. No quick-witted quip. There’s no rug being pulled out from under you. This is THE greatest game of all time. Although one could argue that the base game was lacking in some areas, Royal Edition is the definitive way to play this masterpiece. Combining perhaps the most beautiful character writing and musical compositions known to man, this game deserves to go down in history as true art. I believe that our protagonist, Noctis- does seem “boring” at first, however, he grows on the player as the story goes on. Especially when the end of the game comes around, you seriously feel for this guy. Although, we cannot talk about Noctis without talking about his friends. The main “group” (which will henceforth be referred to as the boys) is believable, fun, and dare I say it- cool. Gladiolus is a strong warrior who wants to protect his buddies. Iggy is an intelligent tactician who knows how to cook. Prompto is a young dude who’s good with guns. And Noctis is a mighty prince who must carry the eight of destiny upon his back. If you think I’m praising this game, trust me- this review does not do FFXV Royal Edition justice. It is THAT good. I cried, if I remember properly- three to four times playing this game. Not just being vaguely sad. I cried actual, literal tears. The ending cutscenes and boss fights give me chills. A gaming experience like no other, FFXV Royal Edition is the peak of human creativity. Please buy this game, I implore you to. Metacritic fails me though, as I cannot go higher than 10. This is not a 10/10. No. This is a ten billion out of ten. I’m serious. Final Score:
    10,000,000,000/10

    Closing Statement:
Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition is the pinnacle of beauty in art. This narrative is one that will know no competition for years to come. Likewise, this game’s soundtrack is simply indescribably astounding. Thank you for reading.

It is an open world in concept, but linear in practice. The side quests are not worth doing after your achievement is complete, and generally not worth doing even before then unless you're planning on mastering it. Side quests are dry and content-less fetch or find quests. The few actual side quests with plots end very suddenly and leave you asking why. To the designer's credit, they did create a gorgeous world, even if most of the monsters were not designed by the team and are assets purchased from other art studios. If you haven't purchased this abomination, avoid it. If you have, well, get your money's worth because you won't find any true value in the game. The plot is predictable, the supporting cast is downright annoying, and the main character is a whiny post-teen with all the angst you could want. If you haven't watched all the extra media created for this game, you might have trouble understanding why you are doing anything in the game...i.e. the world building is SEVERELY lacking in the game itself. Do you want real world companies advertising to you in game? This is the game for you! Nissin, Coleman, and American Express bankrolled the game and it shows. SE shot for the moon, and it was a dud. Commendable effort, but they SHOULD be ashamed of the product they released. I've never seen a more money-hungry game from SE than this heaping pile of trash. I say this due to the deceptive way they released the game. It was essentially a beta game that was released after quite a few delays to attempt to fund the "fixes" and coerce you into buying the rest of the story. This service model is 100% deceptive and downright disgusting. Buy at your own risk. I hope you enjoy it more than I did. Expand
