    Developing a new title in the sports genre every year and improving at the same time is a real challenge for any company, but Visual Concepts managed to create a true 9th generation experience with NBA 2K23, offering solid visuals, stunning animations and tons of content while staying loyal to simulation gameplay. It is safe to say that the king is back.

    NBA 2K23 does a killer job of opening the floor to those that are new to the franchise, or those returning for their umpteenth time. With gorgeous visuals that help solidify this as one of the best-looking games of the generation so far, to controls that let you feel like a pro, there's very little to complain about here.

    NBA 2K23 is one of the best entry in the series so far, thanks to its devout tribute to the story of the sport and a few gameplay innovations. ERA MyNBA e the Jordan Challanges represent the best example of sport digital storyitelling in the world of videogames, while MyTeam and MyCareer suffer from the usual monetization policy, even if The City is far more engaging than the last year. On the court NBA 2K23 is a solid basketball experience, with a new shooting system that feels simple and consistent.

Its nostalgic ways massage the affection that more traditional NBA fans have for games and teams of the past, while also bringing a little bit of the history that turned the NBA into the emotional machine it is today. All of this combined with gameplay changes like improved spacing and better AI make this an ideal game for sports game fans. NBA 2K23 is indeed one of the best experiences for basketball fans in games, but please, stay away of its microtransactions. Particularly, we focus on the parts without it and that's the path for some real fun.

    Overall, NBA 2K23 is a fitting tribute to the historical legends and iconic moments that made this sport what it is today. Though the game has its fair share of issues with its poor narrative choices and omnipresent microtransactions, it’s still a solid improvement over the previous game. This year’s release isn’t quite the flashy free-throw line dunk that lands a perfect score, but it is a worthy, all-around effort that would earn M.J.’s shrug of approval.

    Old gameplay mechanics and some minor innovations are not guaranteeing that this series is going in the right direction. Sports games and real money microtransaction don't mix well. Zero respect for the time of the players that don't have fat wallets.

    Direct that same zero energy towards Roger Goodell and the 32 NFL owners for letting EA's "Madden 23" hit the shelves once again. Actually, this isn't a 10 either because beloved popular game mode All-Star Team Up during the COVID-19 pandemic on both consoles was removed for CURRENT gen. Play Now Online matchmaking is region locked so West will not connect to East servers where 10 of 10 games will actually start. And this game is still not supporting cross platform play.    … Expand

    The core of the game is the MyCareer and Online Mode tho and that has become an even bigger boring cash grab than previously. You have to skateboard through the cities and talk to random "celebrities" before you are allowed to play your next game which gives you a tiny bit of VC.

All I can find is the jump like an idiot button. Foul the mf. And attempt a shot. Where tf is the dunk button and why tf are the controls such **** and not intuitive.     This game is not made for offline players anymore I have bought my last 2k game. The shooting changes every year for the worse. Game stinks.

The obvious problem is 2ks greed, cheating cpu(they can make any shot they want even as a 40 ovr no badges with all the sliders at 0 etc), inconsistent gameplay( the ball will literally be touching your hand but someone online or offline just runs past you and scores but when you try to do the same they just snatch it from you) and them not giving af about the people that work their a** off to purchase the game/vc( they only incentivize sweats) yea I can get “good” but when i or other are just playing the game to have some sort of enjoyment or unwind from a long day why tf should I be good at the game just to have fun?. I’m done with 2k I just can’t deal with their bs anymore I’m done giving them my money. There needs to be competition for this franchise to even think about stepping up their game but sadly there probably won’t be any in the near future. Hopefully this review saves you time and money please do not buy this game.… Expand
