It's not often a game keeps its claws in after the credits roll, but Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals will stay with me for much longer than just another playthrough.

Oxenfree 2 is excellent entertainment whose magic lies mainly in its gripping writing, well-constructed characters, and absolutely brilliant sound work, voice acting and music included. If you liked the first part, no doubt you will love its sequel, which retains the same aura overall and only deepens a few aspects of its experience, capable of immersing you in its captivating universe from its first minutes.

This sequel is not a revolution by any means, but it is a fantastic interactive drama where the paranormal is just a channel to talk about emotions.

The first Oxenfree was hardly a masterpiece, and the continuation in Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals is even further. The plot is interesting and intriguing, especially if you understand all the references to the first part and can connect the events of both games in the series in your head. But an annoying companion and not the most exciting gameplay spoil the impression, overshadowing the amazing acting and great atmosphere. Perhaps it's time for the Night School Studio team to move on and come up with something new - the developers either can't or don't want to implement fresh ideas in this series, and even Oxenfree fans probably won't want to get all the same in the third part.

Like a Netflix show that tries to keep its success with a second season, Oxenfree II is a forced sequel that after seven years loses all the magic. It's still enjoyable, but not fresh at all.

The characters and writing aren’t as strong as they are in the original, but Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals still tells an interesting story that’s punctuated by some truly intense and creepy moments.

Oxenfree 2 is a disappointing sequel that takes the flawed gem of a first game and rubs out almost everything that made it shine. A reasonable plot and neat audiovisual effects find themselves submerged under ponderous navigation, flat characters, and overly regimented dialogue.

Did not like some bugs that make you miss content. I got the achievement about asking out Charlie, but did not hear the conversation on radio due to some bug. |
The ending feels too long, The final choice is supposed to be hard, but here it was obvious to me. I liked the ending itself, including the return of Alex.

Great visuals, good OST, and a captivating atmosphere can describe this game in the beginning.

I loved the UI and how the narrative works.
Great visuals, good OST, and a captivating atmosphere can describe this game in the beginning.

I loved the UI and how the narrative works. It felt pretty unique and different than what I'm used to. Unfortunately, the gameplay itself is quite weak. The game slows down when it is supposed to push us in and becomes repetitive with time. The dialogs are good but not enough to sustain the game.

Sad because it had a lot of potential for me.
