While the Nintendo Switch has seen its fair share of Metroidvania titles over its four-year run, Ori and the Will of the Wisps stands strong as one of its best. While the original was already a memorable adventure, Ori and the Will of the Wisps manages to make improvements whilst dazzling with a visual look that somehow manages to be even more eye-catching than before.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps arrives on the Switch in exceptional form. Though there have been a few nips and tucks here and there in order to squeeze it into a considerably more modest form factor, it still showcases Moon Studio’s incredible vision from the moment it starts to the tear-jerking finale.

I will say that the best way to play this would still be on a PC or Xbox One, as you'll get a better graphical and technical performance. But, most of us Switch owners know that there's usually some kind of price to pay for the opportunity to take games wherever we want on a handheld system. In this case, very little was sacrificed. If you were waiting for this port to happen, then you can whip that wallet out and make this purchase without fear, as Ori And The Will Of The Wisps is a great new addition to the Switch's ever-growing digital library.

The pleasure of the game is therefore intact and we can now enjoy, wherever we are, one of the best Metroidvanias of recent years.

It's incredible how moving this game is. The boss fights in particular, both with the people you face and how they are handled, are extraordinary.

The combat is EXTREMELY fun and filled with variety. There are times where I was just running around the world slashing enemies because the combat was THAT fun and satisfying. Movement is also one of the game's strong suits, it feels SO good to control Ori and move him around different places all the time, there are times where I run around the world because Ori is just so satisfying to control. The bosses are all great, they feel like true celebrations of how far you have come, they are very well designed and fun, plus their soundtracks are AMAZING. The story is also pretty good, it didn't make me cry or anything but it's far from a bad story. The platforming and levels are also very fun and challenging. The game does have one flaw though, and that is it can get pretty glitchy a times. But the glitches arent anything game-breaking or anything so it's easy to ignore them. Overall this game is a masterpiece, I highly recommend this game to ANY Metroidvania fan. I would even say it's on the same level as Hollow Knight! This is my second favorite Metroidvania right below Hollow Knight, this is definitely a must-play for sure Expand

Perfect platformed for Switch. I like this game better over the original because there is a lot more combat in this game. Graphics are just asPerfect platformed for Switch. I like this game better over the original because there is a lot more combat in this game. Graphics are just as beautiful as in the original game and the game is just as difficult and frustrating at times (in a good way) but overall it is a significant step up from Ori and the blind forest. I had choice to buy this game on PC but I opted for Switch version because Switch form factor is just perfect for game like Ori. I can play it on the go anywhere and then come home, dock the Switch and continue playing this game on big screen TV. Graphics are a little bit of a downgrade from PC (they are not as sharp) but nothing that would be much of a deal breaker. Great game. Expand
