As an energy source, this substance was expected to dramatically advance humanity's technological and communications capabilities. Instead, this substance caused a catastrophe that engulfed the planet and the surrounding stars in flames and storms, forming a Burning Star System.

Almost half a century later, the same substance resurfaced on Rubicon 3, a planet now contaminated and sealed off by the catastrophe.

The player infiltrates Rubicon as an independent mercenary and finds themselves in a struggle over the substance with the corporations and other factions.

In ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON, players will assemble and pilot their own mech with 3D maneuverability to move freely through three dimensional fast-paced missions.

Take on difficult challenges and overwhelm your enemies with dynamic movements that make full use of ranged and melee combat.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is a unique experience all about learning to accept failure in order to find solutions to new challenges. Accepting the fact that some runs need to end in defeat in order to learn more about how to tackle the encounter can take a while, but once you settle into the groove it feels so rewarding.

After laying dormant for a while, Armored Core has returned to light up the stage on hardware that makes the most of its grandeur. Fires of Rubicon feels exciting to play, it looks superb, it’s fast and furious, it’s devastating and badass, it’s all you could imagine a modern Armored Core game to be. Sure, humans are absent and all the codenames and straightforward characters make it rather unrelatable, but when you’re caught up in thrilling tussles with all manner of mechanised robots, nothing else will matter. If Fires of Rubicon is a glimpse at what the future holds for Armored Core, it’s a very exciting one indeed.

A great mech combat game that boasts a surprisingly moody atmosphere while offering one of the most rewarding customisation components in all of gaming. So, definitely play it if you love tough combat and plenty of explosions.

Years and several Soulslike games later, FromSoftware revisits another of its iconic franchises and mostly soars with awesome visuals and combat. While difficulty is always going to be a factor in these games, the sudden challenge spikes will alienate those who lack the patience for finding the right build.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is a powerful mech flying with faulty thrusters. A fast-paced action game loaded with thrilling dogfights and stimulating mech customization is dragged down by all too familiar FromSoftware quirks like illegible UI and a headache-inducing third-person camera. It’s not enough to fully spoil an exciting ride, but it does leave me wondering how far a good tune-up would have gone.

With that in mind it still has some of the coolest boss fights as if it were a souls-like game simply because fromsoftware is a master at boss fight mechanics, and combat overall. I would say if you love mechas this is a must buy as it's single handedly the best modern Mecha game out there.

If you're not a Mecha fan, and only like souls-like games, I'd argue this game is worth trying and at least getting through the first chapter or two. For me, it really started to gain it's appeal starting around the 2nd chapter and completely sold me at the end of chapter 3.

You're going to die a good amount, but this game is very forgiving and you'll start back up right before a boss fight will all your repair kits, full ammo, and full health. If you're a masochist that doesn't like that, don't worry you'll die plenty of times still and it'll feel fulfilling to you I am sure.

Im only not giving it a 10 cause it really did start very lukewarm to me and you have to commit to the game and it's gameplay as it definitely gets better the more you unlock, purchase and build your ideal build.

It's also worth noting there is no leveling system and mechas in ng+ don't scale up to how much you've improved or gain more efficient parts, BUT there are additional missions added that will test your skills further than the first playthrough did so there's challenge and a reason to play ng+ (true ending requires ng++)

The game stands out for its customization and multiplayer mechanics, which allow you to create a custom mech and face other players in three-dimensional settings. The game also has a large variety of parts and weapons to choose from, increasing the combat possibilities. However, the game has some issues with the camera, which can be tedious and hinder gameplay. The game allows you to adjust the sensitivity of the camera and the settings of the buttons, which helps to improve the control of the mecha. ARMORED CORE 6 is a very different game from other FromSoftware titles, such as Dark Souls, Sekiro, Elden Ring or Bloodborne, but it preserves the essence of its mechanics in a form accessible to modern audiences. It is a recommended game for those who are looking for an extreme master level challenge. My score is 9.4 out of 10. Expand

*sigh* yet another souls game that tries to pain itself as something else. Sekiro, elden crap, armored core. It's all the same stuff except*sigh* yet another souls game that tries to pain itself as something else. Sekiro, elden crap, armored core. It's all the same stuff except now an existing franchise that was already good gets all the sewage runoff mechanics from souls games such as the trademark awful camera perspectives. As soon as the first boss happened I knew they ruined it, giant enemy ship that would be slow due it's sheer weight in any other armored core game but somehow is faster than your mech made for mobility and as an added bonus goes outside of an artificial boundary to where you can't hit it(lmao). Actual trash and anyone who days otherwise never played an armored core game before. Stop putting these lame mechanics in other games, it's not fun. Expand
