Age of Empires IV is a solid RTS. It's fun, it's challenging, and it has a promising future. This is because the base is Age of Empires II, a mythical title that remains unsurpassed after so many years. Hopefully this greatness can be replicated, and in the future, Age of Empires IV will be seen as the cornerstone to advance into a new era.

Without a doubt, this is the best South Park game so far. The quality in the level design, the animations, and the addictive combat highlight this fun experience and really makes you feel part of a South Park episode. The Stick of Truth doesn't try to revolutionize the genre but tries to offer a good laugh from classic poop and fart jokes.

Marathon finds itself in a difficult position. On one hand, it is a title unafraid to make you eat dirt and learn from your mistakes, all while delivering an experience with few apparent downsides—at least on paper—and featuring a presentation that stands out amidst the endless array of hyper-realistic offerings currently flooding the market. On the other hand, it is a tough sell to an audience whose sheer fatigue with "games as a service" keeps them at a safe distance from the blast zone.

After changing the longstanding mechanics of Castlevania with Lords of Shadow, MercurySteam managed to merge action and exploration in Mirror of Fate. The game is far from the Metroidvania style but in exchange offers many hours of intense combat, and a story that studies in the Belmont family mythology. Cygames did a great job of turning a gacha game into an epic adventure full of action and magic. Granblue Fantasy Versus: Relink capitalizes on the charisma of its characters and their abilities. The best part is that we can unlock them without paying and harness their power in awesome boss battles. As Dusk Falls is an emotional story with broken characters whose lives take a turn in the wrong direction simply because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Something that, unfortunately, can happen to anyone. This narrative introduces us to a cast of morally gray characters who must make difficult decisions with repercussions that mark their lives and the lives of others. It thus explores how people process, cope with, or try to escape from trauma. As it is practically an interactive movie, it may bore those who are looking for action. On the other hand, those who enjoy this type of experience will find it a worthwhile adventure.

Despite being a 2-year-old game, Sonic Colors feels fresh, fun, and dynamic. The levels are colorful, interesting to navigate and fun to repeat. Control is decent, something that's more than can be said for most 3D Sonic titles. The music is energetic, upbeat and in tune with the setting of the game. The art direction corresponds to the title: bright colors and different palettes for each world. The story is simple but entertaining and does not go to the extreme of being naive or pretentious. In addition, the power-ups that the wisps give add a lot of depth to the game. Clash in the Clouds offers a great opportunity to delve in those action filled moments we all loved in the original game. Although killing wave after wave of enemies in 4 different maps might get old relatively quickly, the implementation of the Blue Ribbons adds variety to gameplay and require a higher strategy level.

With good level design, charming graphics and fun multiplayer, Kirby: Star Allies stands as one of the best entries in the franchise. Its Story Mode may be easy, and it probably won’t take you much time to complete, but HAL Laboratory has packed a nice amount of content that will keep Kirby’s biggest fans busy for a while.

Tormented Souls is a great tribute to the old school survival horror genre. The Chilean studio, Dual Effect Games, demonstrates great mastery and knowledge of the elements that made horror games great back in the day. Although graphically it is not very impressive and the presentation is kind of cheesy, the setting, the atmosphere and the monsters are so well designed that the resulting experience is particularly immersive. Tormented Souls strengths definitely outweigh its weaknesses. If you are looking for a typical horror experience from the late 90s and early 2000s, Tormented Souls is a must.

Legend of Mana remains as a peculiarity that can feel disconcerting and confusing, especially at the very beginning due its open structure. Definitely, one of a kind game based on activating and solving quests that as a whole feel somewhat dull. Still, each one is a small story, an arc that teaches you a little more about who each character is, what they are looking for and their place in the world. The latter gives Legend of Mana a unique meaning. Everything, added to the beautiful art, the excellent work of M2 and the atmosphere that the Yoko Shimomura soundtrack brings to the game, makes Legend of Mana a unique experience that is worth trying and that, for better or worse, will become memorable for all players.

While this game offers the same magnificent platform experience than the original Wii version, it suffers from issues associated with the smaller screen. The new controls are precise, specially now that you don't have to shake the controller. Even though the art direction and the levels where designed with a TV screen in mind, the 3D effect really enhances the backgrounds and environments. Challenging, fun and solid, the game design of this title shines even through its flaws and the patches that where made while adapting it for the 3DS.

Madden NFL 17 is not a revolutionary iteration of the series, but it polishes the finer details of an already well-rounded experience instead. In other words, Madden NFL 17 is like the New England Patriots: they deliver year in and year out but that isn't precisely fresh or surprising.

Disney Infinity suffers from unpolished game mechanics and it's world creation tools are somewhat limited, but at the end it offers a fun and enjoyable experience. Each playset has its own special game mechanic and that helps to add variety to the game, specially the ship battles in the Pirates of the Caribbean set.

Pokémon never looked better. Pokkén Tournament does have really cool graphics for a Wii U title and an amazing soundtrack. It may not offer enough content for all the Pokémon Trainers out there, but at least it brings enough fan service to entertain fighting game enthusiasts. Having said that, Pokkén Tournament falls short in its quest to become a competitive fighting franchise due to the lack of balance between characters.

Double Helix made a lot of adjustments to the overall Killer Instinct experience. The graphics and audio presentation are great, even the solid gameplay mechanics that it already had were improved. It may not be something that you should buy right away, but it is definitely something that competitive gamers should be grateful for.

The absence of the traditional gimmick that every Nintendo sequel usually features was actually the right call for Splatoon 2. In the end, Splatoon 2 is a compelling, quick and fun multiplayer game, suitable for new players -due to the simplicity of its mechanics- and veterans that will be seduced by the complex and tactical challenges in Ranked and League Battles.

Fatal Fury: City of The Wolves marks the return of a legendary franchise with new mechanics but a classic approach aimed entirely at the competitive environment. This move worked out well but SNK's game is somewhat lacking in other aspects such as game modes and options for casual gamers. Fatal Fury: City of The Wolves is a solid fighting game that we will see in all the tournaments but the rest of the package is somewhat sloppy. The bonus is that we can play with Cristiano Ronaldo, who to everyone's surprise, is a powerful and well-designed fighter.

Triangle Strategy has the seal of approval of Tomoya Asano, producer of other RPGs that have stood out for having a special touch. This tactical RPG sweetens the look for its aesthetics and draws us in little by little, in a drama full of tragic overtones. The robust story and its battle system are its strong points, although the exploration is practically nil. The narrative is dense and at times very slow, which make the battles feel like a prize for which we waited a long time.

Scott Pilgrim EX is a remarkable sequel because it respects its predecessor and the franchise as a whole while seamlessly adding numerous elements that makes it a clear step forward. Although it removes some elements from the original that worked well, can become quite repetitive, and we feel it could have done more to encourage replayability, it delivers a well-rounded experience for both solo players and those who enjoy multiplayer.

LEGO City: Undercover is a fascinating adventure that even though it stays close to the franchise roots, it also takes a different approach with its own identity and charming originality. Infused with clever jokes, brilliant puzzles and excellent narrative, it doesn't need far away galaxies nor Middle Earth myths in order to bring pure fun.
