How can we make something that's already pretty perfect even better? Thankfully, we don't have to look very far, because Separate Ways is the perfect ending to Resident Evil 4 Remake. The cool thing about Separate Ways is that it doesn't waste its time on drawn-out scenes that get old, or on gameplay mechanics that become boring in the long run. Instead, it focuses on giving you a different style and pace of play that's not totally different from Leon S. Kennedy's, so you really feel like you're playing as Ada Wong.- LevelUp

It's surprising to be here, in the middle of 2025, talking about yet another Silent Hill game. Today, the franchise is back with two well-defined paths: one that follows the conservative and traditional (Bloober Team) and another that takes risks and experiments. Silent Hill f is part of the latter, and the result, in the end, is satisfying. Neobards' installment dared to push the boundaries but maintained respect for the pillars of the franchise. Although the new and risky aspects show some inconsistency, they don't undermine the concept that gave rise to it and are consistent with what it proposes. I repeat, it works for the game itself, but perhaps not for Silent Hill , at least not entirely. The journey to 1960s Japan has a soul of its own and lets the Western city rest. The prospect of repression and abuse against a woman shape a heartbreaking and terrifying story.- LevelUp

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance arrives to become the definitive edition of Shin Megami Tensei V. Some of its changes may not be enough to fix the major problems of the original, but it does an incredible job of elevating it and bringing it that much closer to reaching its potential. ATLUS did it again and delivered a re-release that's worth checking out regardless of whether you finished the original game or if it's your first time playing it. Mind you: if you're an old-time Shin Megami Tensei fan, don't expect Vengance to be some sort of director's cut or a chance for the development team to deliver their original vision of the game. There's little in this new version that points in that direction, and it feels more like a 2.0 version made after hearing what critics and fans said about Shin Megami Tensei V. In other words, it's a product that improves in almost every aspect, but also doesn't redefine or revolutionize what we played in 2021.- LevelUp

Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is a very good remaster worth every second and guaranteed to be fun. It’s a testament to a different era, but no less exciting for it. The audiovisual improvements, gameplay tweaks, and enough content to replay (despite its limitations and flaws) are enough to give you a glimpse into the past and prepare for what’s to come. Onimusha is emerging from obscurity, and that’s definitely a good thing.- LevelUp

An explosion of color and personality, Splatoon is brilliant as a light shooter that innovates in its genre. Having said that, Splatoon is also ridden by a chronic and surprising lack of content.- LevelUp

Madden NFL 15 won't break the mold in terms of gameplay innovation, but its new looks coupled with a much-needed improvement on the defensive side of the ball and the Gauntlet mode, add some freshness to the formula and, most importantly, make this the first truly next-gen iteration of the series.- LevelUp

Since it was launched, the PS Vita has been longing for a game like this. Not only Killzone: Mercenary a good FPS, but it is also a solid addition to the scarce lineup of games in this portable console. Leaving aside some problems with the running and covering controls, the game offers a pleasant experience that we can't really see happening on another console.- LevelUp

Control takes us right the other side of that door you do not remember having unlocked, to the middle of the that dark hall that you started crossing while thinking that there’s nothing hiding in the dark, specially not behind you. The dark tone and creepy setting of the Oldest House remains all through your adventure and even though you’ll eventually get enough powers to kick around any enemy you find, you’ll never get to chase away that feeling that something is not right. Control is a reminder that Remedy is still a developing powerhouse.- LevelUp

Underneath the odd blend of Mario with the Rabbids lies a very good SRPG. Its combat mechanics are frantic, fun and complex enough to make the whole campaign a joy to play. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a nice surprise, there is no doubt about it.- LevelUp

EA Sports F1 25 is much better than last year's installment, and Codemasters addressed key points to ensure its fans weren't disappointed. Braking Point 3 and My Team 2.0 are high-quality offerings that warrant recommending the game to fans of the competition and those looking to immerse themselves in its world. The handling improvements, despite their rough edges that will surely be addressed in future updates, are a decent sim cadence, as is the audio-visual section. Despite the less than favorable environment, this is a good F1 installment, and it will undoubtedly hold its own throughout the season.- LevelUp

Far Cry 5 has an interesting story and a theme that explores dark corners of the North American psyche. The Story has some pretty good moments that make you think about what a group of people is capable of when they follow an extreme ideology and they try to impose their vision of the world not caring about anything besides what one person or a book says. But the story just establishes the setting of the game; on top of it there is a pretty fun game, full of action and adventure in witch you'll be running from religious fanatics and blowing everything that stands in your path to put an end to madness.- LevelUp

NBA 2K18 remains the best basketball game out there right now. Great gameplay, lots of modes and the online component is pretty solid. The only downside is the aggressive monetization system in the single player MyCareer mode.- LevelUp

Pikmin 4 captures the essence of the franchise, even if it doesn't redefine the gaming landscape. While it doesn't revolutionize gaming, it delivers the familiar real-time strategic gameplay and introduces interesting changes. The open philosophy in level design and beautiful atmosphere will immerse players in a miniature world. Though it may be too easy and lacks an intriguing story, Pikmin 4 is a solid addition to the series.- LevelUp

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a bold step forward for the franchise, turning the traditional formula into a fast-paced action RPG. Its combat system is thrilling, strategic, and refreshingly different, while its return to Kalos brings nostalgic charm. However, its single-city setting, underwhelming visuals, and lack of voice acting keep it from true greatness. Still, Legends: Z-A captures the wonder and heart of Pokémon better than any recent entry. A strong evolution, even if not the final form.- LevelUp
