The Taken King addition corrects majority of errors that Destiny had from the beginning and finally brings a larger portion of the story and lot of new content to explore. [Issue#258]

The Taken King is a bold, brilliant expansion that brings out Destiny's true potential. It's pricier than I'd have liked, but still a massive new adventure whether you're a newbie or a veteran Guardian. [Dec 2015, p.92]

Above all, The Taken King's new raid brings a whole new level of challenge and you will be forced to put your power and friendships to the test in your quest to bring down Oryx.

It’s more of the Destiny that the fans love, with enough tweaks to keep them grinding for hundreds more hours to come. This is the game that Destiny should have released as, and there’s no doubt that people jumping into it for the first time are getting a great game, and a lot of it at that for a lovely low price, while dedicated players will enjoy themselves immensely while nursing their poor wallets back to health.

It doesn’t fix everything that was wrong with Destiny, but The Taken King does enough in all the right places to make it a highly enjoyable FPS experience overall. A renewed focus on narrative and a streamlined progression system helps to push Destiny in the direction it should have been heading all along.

All the changes and additions are for the best, and a great step forward for Destiny in general, but they come at a price – both literally and figuratively.

It's the best moment to start for new players, and to come back for thoose who stopped playing. All bad reviews are so bad mainly because of the price, so are written by year 1 players who can't stand that. For new players the price is great for all content from year one plus TTK. Stop crying, rate game for it's quality, not your wallet! Expand

The trouble with the PS4 and Xbox One is like the Wii U they seem to have a lot of potential your like yeah lets get on this bandwagon of hypeThe trouble with the PS4 and Xbox One is like the Wii U they seem to have a lot of potential your like yeah lets get on this bandwagon of hype and get some subs.
Then you look at the games and the console this happens especially with PS4 and Xbox One the games on these consoles seem foreign and lack the hype of previous games.
Then to help me dislike them more they price these games outrageously as well as the consoles they are on making me shy away from these games entirely.
If PS4, Xbox One OR Wii U had ANY games that had reviews like steel and did not have a significant number of vocal haters swarming around them I could justify paying the price.
If the record though is not solid why would I want to pay money for a bet that has a high chance of making me lose what I work so hard to get.
For me these console companies have made it appear to me that the risk of buying these new games is higher than the reward BARF I wish I never had to say that but at some point I've got to put my foot down...

The FPS mechanics are solid and the game looks great. It's a pretty lobby shooter with a bit of a shallow MMO experience to it. Most will get sick of the repetition and grind and end up playing PvP and a few select Raids or scheduled events.

For those that have played before. It quickly turns into a grindfest (again). Level cap of 40 can be reached in under 2 hours of play (for those at level 34 -the previous cap) and those that did not purchase the Taken King appear to be locked out of a lot of content.

TTK is more of the same from Bungie/Activision. I have only been this disgusted with a video game publisher once before and I've been around since Atari. Bungie sold their soul and allowed their vision of an Epic game/universe to be reduced to a confused mess. TTK makes it better but it is way too little, too late.

The story was lame, thei never liked destiny when it first came out, but the hype before actually having the game was really high. The story was lame, the multiplayer was ok and the shooting mechanics was all it was worth. then they gave extra lame content with the promise of giving new fun stuff in the near future. And now that i've played the taken king i can say nothing has changed and that this game is the same crap. Please bungie stop ripping us off asking us to buy something that could've been included in the original game. Expand
