Sep 18, 2025Techland was under the scrutiny of thousands of players worldwide - this was a final exam and the developer has passed with flying colors. Dying Light: The Beast is more Dying Light than ever, they've learned from the mistakes of the 2nd and returned to a path they should never have strayed from. It's fun, it's beast, it's crazy - in short, it's a masterpiece with one of the best protagonists and villains we've seen in years.

Sep 28, 2025Dying Light: The Beast is a triumphant return to Techland's winning formula. An excellent zombie survival game packed with fast-paced action and visceral moments of combat and survival. The return of Kyle Crane is a tremendous success and a love letter to fans of the original game. However, its lack of innovation prevents it from reaching the heights of a true revolution for the series.

Sep 18, 2025Dying Light: The Beast is a game that will resonate most with longtime fans of the franchise. Choosing to focus on targeted improvements while preserving much of what worked in previous entries is a bold move. And while this approach has backfired in many other games, here it pays off—making this the most enjoyable title in the series yet.

Sep 18, 2025Dying Light: The Beast is a worthy successor to Stay Human and the most ambitious installment in the saga. Techland unleashes its bestial side in 2025 by refining the parkour and combat, and attempting to iron out several historical flaws of the franchise. The game's sense of freedom and cathartic brutality make it a perfect outlet for all fans of the genre who will take the time to contemplate a dazzlingly beautiful open world. However, The Beast is far from perfect, and suffers from certain modern ills that would have deserved to be addressed.

Sep 22, 2025I enjoyed my time as Kyle in Dying Light: The Beast and continue to regard Techland as having mastered a singular type of game experience. Some key aspects I bristled against were concerning, but the reactive gameplay, popcorn-munching plot, and mechanical depth at its heart are all fully intact. I remain eager to see where this over-the-top story goes next, but I’d rather get there by grappling hook over a cityscape.

Sep 18, 2025Dying Light The Beast is a fun spin-off that avoids evolving the franchise.

Sep 18, 2025Dying Light : The Beast is all bark and no bite. Techland had the right ideas and tools to deliver a tight action-adventure package, but stumbles on bad level design, a flimsy plot and repetitive slugfests against roided-out zombies.
