After more than a decade in captivity, you find yourself in a world that’s changed, and not for the better. Now, you’ll need to use the survival skills that kept you alive all those years ago to save even more innocent lives.

Dying Light: The Beast is a thrilling standalone zombie adventure set in the post-apocalyptic Castor Woods, a once-popular tourist destination. After 13 years of enduring experiments, you escape and hunt down your captors to seek retribution, only to discover there’s far more at stake.
While the region is not as populated as it once was, there are still people and factions here, as well as plenty of horrors. Some will ask for your help, others will want to kill you. And that’s not to mention the mysterious creature that’s turned the woods into its personal hunting grounds.

The story was very good overall. Crane is just such an interesting character and it really shows when we return to him. Aiden was good, but it’s so much more satisfying to return to an established character to see more of his story. You can honestly tell that the developers have more fun with Kyle Crane and Roger Craig Smith definitely does. Overall, if you’re a fan of the first game, go out and buy this game right now. It’s made for you. I honestly like every piece of Dying Light that I can get my hands on, so each game has been great for me. The Beast has a few bugs here and there but nothing like what Dying Light 2 had when it first released. The Beast runs at a VERY smooth framerate from the start on Xbox Series X and PC. No doubt, Techland will give this game support for years to come, just like they have done with Dying Light 2. The Beast stands out as my personal favorite Dying Light so far. It just has all the best of Dying Light combined into one – tons of zombie splattering, decent amount of parkour (not overdone), the Kyle Crane character and a great story. Bravo Techland!

Dying Light: The Beast is much more than what you would expect from an expansion, it is a new prism within the saga and it has made it clear to me that there are never too many zombie games.

Dying Light: The Beast marks a welcome return to the series’ roots, highlighting fluid parkour, brutal combat, and the fresh addition of “beast” powers. While dated mission design, forced grinding, lack of fast travel, and a weak narrative hold it back, the game remains content-rich and highly enjoyable, proving the Dying Light formula is still thrilling and remarkably effective today.

Dying Light: The Best is a return to form. I loved revisiting this world after the disappointment that I had with the second game. It knows what it wants to be and never apologizes for it. If you loved the first game, this is a must-have.

Dying Light: The Beast is an exhilarating, grotesque, and technically impressive game that proves Techland still understands what makes this series special. The parkour is smoother than ever, the melee is unmatched, and the attention to detail in the world is astonishing. It stumbles with stealth, the story remains functional rather than unforgettable, and some design choices feel limited, but these flaws don’t outweigh how consistently enjoyable it is to play.

Kyle Crane is back, and looking for revenge on the evil scientist who's spent 13 years experimenting on him in this enjoyable if sometimes uneven romp through Techland's greatest hits.

Dying Light: The Beast succeeds where Stay Human fell short, reconnecting with the horrific, visceral and nerve-wracking essence of the franchise. The return of iconic hero Kyle Crane, his monstrous transformation, steroid-fuelled parkour and the sublime setting of Castor Woods provide a brutal, intense and deliciously wild immersive experience. The gameplay gains depth thanks to the well-exploited man-beast duality, and the day/night cycle is even more unforgiving. Not everything is perfect: the storyline remains mundane, exploration is more restricted (but more intense), some recycled mechanics struggle to surprise, and the AI still has a few glitches (sometimes more frightening than the undead themselves). But no matter, The Beast, like a hungry offspring, becomes the wild child of the trilogy, howling its return to its roots with rage and darkness. If you liked the first Dying Light, you'll love The Beast!
