The Bearded Ladies signs a winning return to the Tactical-RPG genre after the potential trial run Mutant Year Zero. Miasma Chronicles retains the same formula in gameplay, namely a title combining RPG, Xcom-style strategy and even infiltration to make the task easier in combat. The scenario, the characters, the graphics and the sound form an organic universe largely at the level to make the game one of the beautiful surprises of the year 2023. There remain a few imperfections (camera, difficulty, etc.) to be corrected so that the Swedish studio establishes itself as the leader of the genre for the rest of its adventures.- Jeuxvideo.com

With a second rolling start on PS5 and Xbox Series X, F1 22 has put some oil in its engine. A little more animation during the celebrations and on the track with the arrival of the safety car in the race, the addition of events with Supercars to drive and drops in FPS during less significant cutscenes than in 2021, the standing of the latest generation of consoles is finally respected. Codemasters has succeeded in making this new title a reference for multiplayer games with the adjustment to the new rules, the addition of sprint races and a new pit entry system. We will just grumble about the too superficial F1 Life space and the lack of inspiration on the content, but F1 22 is well worth it for new motorsport fans and multiplayer enthusiasts.- Jeuxvideo.com

It is now impossible to doubt it. With Top Spin 2k25, Hangar 13 and 2K mark the return of the reference in tennis simulation. We would still have appreciated a larger cast of players; a more entertaining career mode or the presence of a commentator. But let's stop dwelling on its setbacks. Top Spin 2k25 hits the nail on the head with mastered gameplay, transposing into the video game all the realism that makes the sport of the little yellow ball so special. It's the return of video game tennis, the real thing, and that's the most important thing.- Jeuxvideo.com

While the latest titles in the PGA Tour license left us a little hungry, 2K21 being too classic and 2K23 not very ergonomic, PGA Tour 2K25 manages to enchant with its Career mode. The latter is very complete, leaving an exhilarating feeling of progression throughout the season with marketing choices, calendar, equipment and skill points finally completed. The most discerning will say that NBA 2K lacks an open world, but it is clear that there has been progress this year also in online games. The fully customizable gameplay is still as precise in approaches or putts. Enough to live a great experience for any fan of golf or the saga.- Jeuxvideo.com

Because we must not lie to each other, opting for an old-fashioned challenge is a real risk-taking for the publisher and such an approach will not suit everyone. It's a real niche game! We loved Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle! Despite quite a few flaws - whether it's the behavior of the NPCs or the very structure of some levels -, the title from Machine Games offers us a very beautiful adventure that perfectly reproduces the essence of Spielberg and Lucas' character. The Ancient Circle is at once funny, intense, sometimes rather touching, and will certainly satisfy fans of the license. What's more, with its first-person camera, it's a fairly unique vision of the action-adventure game with a treasure hunter twist. Unlike Uncharted, Indy is not a superhero and the overbidding of spectacular staging here gives way to a more "traditional" approach to archaeology. Enough to get lost for 20-30 hours in superbly produced settings whose atmosphere commands respect.- Jeuxvideo.com

A comeback? Yes, we can say so. Fatal Fury: City of The Wolves is beautiful, fast-paced, and has a netcode that works perfectly for facing off against your friends or complete strangers online. There are certainly a few drawbacks, notably the choice of certain characters, Ronaldo in particular, and a story mode that is unfortunately rather anecdotal, but we readily forgive the 26-year wait given the quality of this production, which marks a spectacular return for this essential saga of the fighting game genre.- Jeuxvideo.com

We understand better why it took so long for a new opus. Pikmin 4 is an exemplary sequel and the gaming world would certainly be much better off if all licenses followed its example. While keeping its DNA, the title does not just offer a few anecdotal novelties: it explores new horizons. Something to delight both fans of the license and perhaps tempt a new audience. In any case, trying out the Pikmin formula with this new opus is clearly your best option. Pikmin 4 indeed surpasses the already excellent Pikmin 3, and this for our greatest pleasure. But we wouldn't have said no to a little visual refresh and the return of the coop mode of its predecessor. Two big shadows that come to tarnish an experience yet sublimated on all the rest.- Jeuxvideo.com

As a pretext for a trip to the worlds of Disney, it is mesmerizing from start to finish, thanks to an exemplary artistic direction that adapts constantly to the subject. With its neat pixel art and millimeter-tuned gameplay, Vagante is a roguelike that manages to stand out thanks to its dark-fantasy vibe and dynamism. Drawing on the best ideas from the competition, it reveals its true personality as one progresses and demonstrates that a small team can bring a fascinating game to life. Lost Judgment is the legitimate sequel to Judgment, and does as well as its predecessor on most points. The faithful recreation of Tokyo and Yokohama is an invitation to exploration as the combat retains that franchise-specific intensity and technicality. As for the scenario, the latter literally takes the guts. The high school setting as well as the themes addressed perfectly compensate for the lack of a strong link with the Yakuza saga. Only certain gameplay mechanics that are too interventionist, and the noticeable absence of a new geographical area are to be deplored without this ruining the gaming experience.- Jeuxvideo.com

With a rich and pleasant gameplay, a really neat artistic direction and a fairly well balanced challenge (a little less at the end of the adventure), Ender Lilies ticks all the boxes of the successful 2D action-RPG. There isn't much more to say, except that if you enjoyed Hollow Knight or Blasphemous, you are going to have a great time with the baby from Live Wire and Adglobe. Especially since the title has its twist, thanks to its mind system, which will allow you to recover new skills on the bosses beaten. Enough to forge your own style of play, within tortuous and increasingly challenging levels. In short, it's varied, inspired, rich with in addition a good lifespan. A very nice adventure.- Jeuxvideo.com

If FC 24 had shaken up some things a bit along with its name, starting with the gameplay, FC 25 has not taken this path at all. The considerable contribution this year is called Rush, a new way of playing 5 against 5 quite well integrated into all game modes alongside the classic 11-a-side football. Because even if the title integrates FC IQ, a new tactical and positioning system for AI players very interesting in Career and Clubs mode for budding managers, the gameplay hardly changes one iota compared to last season. Haters of the last opus may therefore move on, except for lovers of Kings League and Ligue 1. The latter will be able to rejoice to see many players from the French championship modeled unlike last year. Cocorico!- Jeuxvideo.com

Biomutant is what we expected from it, no more and no less, namely a generous project, steeped in good intentions, and which, through his atypical vision of Action-RPG, breathes a breath of fresh air into the genre. The studio title Experiment 101 is an ode to the exploration of a colorful post-apo universe, karmic destiny, avatar customization, and martial arts. It is difficult, it is true, to concretize these different aspects and to merge them. The fact remains that this experience, equal to no other, changes, surprises, and throws off to the point of becoming memorable. However, it is necessary to ignore a technical achievement which is clearly behind schedule and a progression that is sometimes too interventionist.- Jeuxvideo.com

In its way of transforming the fast FPS into a raging rhythm game, thanks to the support of an impeccable soundtrack, Metal: Hellsinger gave us a few hours of pure adrenaline. The gameplay loop is mastered, the instinctive handling and the multiple levels of difficulty allow you to create an à la carte experience. The fact remains that the content is a little too light, since we will complete the main campaign in 5 to 6 hours depending on the desired challenge. The challenges, however, allow you to extend the lifespan, but it is above all the interest in scoring and the desire to climb the world rankings that will allow you, or not, to play Metal: Hellsinger for more than 10 hours. As it is, it's still an experience to try if you like "Doom Like" and big guitar riffs.- Jeuxvideo.com

Wasteland 3, in the field of tactical in general and tactical RPG in particular, will inevitably suffer the comparison with some titles released since Wasteland 2, which proved that one could remain faithful to the spirit of the C-PRG without necessarily lacking a modern and deep approach. However, the old-school character of Wasteland 3 is sure to delight fans of the genre as the baby of InXile knows its lesson and recites it with some enthusiasm.- Jeuxvideo.com

For its part, therefore, the Nintendo Switch version offers a more timeless title thanks to the addition of an Offline mode which may no doubt appeal to younger players. The portable aspect of Nintendo's hybrid console is also a plus that shouldn't be taken lightly, especially as Plants Vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville allows for short play sessions.- Jeuxvideo.com

The Mudokon indeed returns on an adventure meeting current standards, full of challenges and sadistic traps to be avoided by a well-placed roll. Like the disappearance of flatulence, our famous petomaniac does not completely let go of the gas, the fault of various inaccuracies in terms of handling, the camera, but also artificial intelligence. Soulstorm remains a well-orchestrated adventure with qualities as great as the greed of a Glukkon.- Jeuxvideo.com

Against all expectations, Fuga: Melodies of Steel is much darker than its visuals might suggest and justifies its PEGI 16 rating with a difficult, uncompromising story driven by deep and varied game mechanics. Despite the flagrant nature of its technical and budgetary restrictions, CyberConnect2's tactical RPG does well and manages to embark on its experience by making us forget almost all of its shortcomings, moreover few in number. However, there remains a redundancy of actions to be carried out with difficulty compensated by the introduction of new elements, but nothing that is not able to put off fans of tactical role-playing games with a good depth, in search of an accessible title which will know punctually resist them.- Jeuxvideo.com

If the teeming universe of Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong is a tedious entry for newcomers, it does not become less exciting once mastered. Fans of the Big Bad Wolf studio will probably be delighted by the formula "The Council way World of Darkness"; Mean by that a system of dialogues of choice revisited by the controlled addition of RPG mechanics. Swansong unfolds a story consisting, sometimes too much, led by three protagonists with an impeccable style whose progression remains fairly linear.- Jeuxvideo.com

We weren't expecting it, and maybe it's a big spark that lights up in the world of motorcycle simulations. Developed by the Italian studio of RaceWard and published by Nacon, RiMS Racing overshadows Ride with its simulated aspect reserved for purists, even if it tramples on content and technique.- Jeuxvideo.com

If you want to offer your children software that will teach them the basics of professional video game creation, or if you want to discover this funny universe yourself with wacky characters rather than a cranky boss who sets up the "crunch ”, The Video Game Workshop is made for you. The lack of an integrated game browser still remains a huge limit to the community dimension.- Jeuxvideo.com

It is indeed a very good strategy game, rich, complete and immersive but it clearly does not have the aura of its ancestors due to a main campaign that does not hold in suspense, a gameplay who suffers from pathfinding concerns and a somewhat aging AI.- Jeuxvideo.com
