Metro Exodus isn’t the perfect game we wish we had. With a poor AI, some technical issues and it also has some controler issues on PS4 and Xbox One. But the game is beautiful, well-paced and offers many memorable moments.

Through its meticulous artistic direction and its urban universe full of charms, NEO The World Ends With You manages to offer a pleasant adventure that will delight lovers of Japanese culture. We enjoy discovering the Shibuya district in its every nook and cranny and enjoying the many shops it includes. The ride is all the more enjoyable as it offers a story full of twists and turns and endearing characters. Ultimately, it is more at the level of the combat system that the limits are felt. If the latter is rather pleasant and nervous at first, the lack of depth ends up making the clashes really repetitive in the long run. Still, nothing to spoil this 20-hour straight-line tour of Shibuya that will delight those who appreciate the style of Nomura and Action-RPGs.

Contra: Operation Galuga finally allows the series to reconnect with its origins to once again become a staple of “run & gun”. Even if its artistic direction spoils part of the experience, we definitely find the original spirit of the franchise. Weapon management has been completely redesigned and the game is now teeming with multiple bonuses and improvements to unlock. The frenzy of Arcade mode playable with 4 players in coop compensates for the lack of readability specific to certain levels as well as the lifespan 100% focused on scoring. And if the feeling of déjà vu is sometimes tenacious, it is it which makes the link with the mythical origins of the saga.

Days Gone PC is undoubtedly the ultimate version of the title from Bend Studio. With more detailed textures and lighting effects that gain credibility, Deacon's adventure asserts itself, and becomes a little more realistic and immersive. Two years after its release on PS4, the post-apocalyptic open world is rid of the bugs that hampered its launch, and the adventure is more fluid, with almost instantaneous load times during the transitions between gameplay and cinematic as on PS5. , if you have an SSD.

Pokémon Scarlet/Purple: The Turquoise Mask is an extension of the base game. Simply put, it will suit players who had a good time initially. The story unfolds without a hitch, with endearing characters with interesting themes, especially as it builds up a certain suspense. The capture system still works just as well in a region that is smaller than Paldea. The Pokémon Company also brings some new features with a refreshing photo-related activity as well as a monster hunt dedicated to competitive enthusiasts. In summary, this first part of the DLC brings hours of additional gameplay that it would be a shame to miss for fans of Scarlet and Violet. Otherwise, it is better to move on since the Turquoise Mask does not bring anything revolutionary to the formula, whether in substance with the new Pokémon or in form with the technique which still makes people cringe.

Excellence in gameplay, quality online mode, smooth execution... all the ingredients are there in this new generation fighting game! Fans of the latest installment should be thrilled, but we can't help but have some reservations about the art direction, content, and lack of life and inspiration in the sets. The King of Fighters has always been a franchise with a certain vibe, and it's perhaps a bit too generic to open up to the masses.

If you're tired of going around in circles on the twelve tracks of WipEout HD and its Fury expansion or if you're just a thrill-seeker, Pacer is for you. Even if it does not manage to overtake the master, it will charm you with its inspired artistic direction, its substantial content or its sensations of speed. But you have been warned, while R8 Games' production has many qualities, the title also delivers many shortcomings. The handling of the game lacks precision, especially in the highest difficulties where it will necessarily be necessary to play double airbrakes to hope to escape unscathed, the HUD is particularly intrusive and the menus are not very ergonomic.

Faithful to its predecessor, Beyond a Steel Sky is a success on consoles. Taking advantage of the 4K resolution and fully dubbed dialogues, this version puts the player in an armchair. More stable and comfortable, the adventure turns out to be pleasant thanks to the impactful writing, colorful characters and a city more surprising than ever. The lack of life is however glaring and may hamper those looking for a spectacular setting.

Max Caulfield is back and she's stronger than ever. A narrative game in the vein of Quantic Dream's works, but with its own identity, Life is Strange Double Exposure is an astonishing experience. While managing to emancipate itself, the game narrates a different poetry for a result that does not leave you indifferent. Despite a somewhat slow pace and some events that are a little too disjointed, nostalgia works and we become attached again to the one who was a teenager at Blackwell. Without being revolutionary, the formula, tinged with parallel worlds and temporal powers, manages to move us. Without going all the way with its intentions, this long-awaited sequel opens a door to new adventures of the very charismatic Maxine. Can't wait for her return.

Despite some obvious flaws (especially in the combat department), Hell is Us is a good action-adventure game that shines particularly brightly thanks to its atmosphere and its ability to surprise the player. Rogue Factor has managed to create a rather unique blend of exploration, action, and puzzles, supported by a technique that commands respect. In short, if you're looking for a game at the crossroads of the genre, we recommend it. Be careful, however, if you have high expectations in terms of action-RPG or puzzles.

Survival in a dark fantasy world populated by nightmares is a long succession of tests and crucial choices, especially when madness awaits our units with each new incursion into darkness. Too bad that the strategic stakes impose permanent vigilance on the management side because this is done a little to the detriment of exploration and adventure.

A deep action game, just as dynamic and enjoyable as its predecessors on traditional media. With World of Demons, the Japanese studio is indeed showing unfailing generosity, both on the size of the bestiary and on the number of powers available, without of course forgetting the options to improve the weapons and the different playable characters. Even after eight hours of play, we are surprised to discover new subtleties and possibilities, pushing to invest and widen the mind to face the advanced difficulty modes, thanks to the natural element system. Drawing lessons from its elder, Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden is a more controlled experience than The Isle Dragon Roars. Touching story, gameplay adjustments, ability to speed up the game... The main criticisms of the original game have been heard. But if we find the charm of this original concept thanks to its minimalist side and its neat artistic part, the title remains logically very similar to its elder by its short development time. The result is certain flaws that are still as present as the random fights that are still as numerous. It now remains to be seen whether Alim and Yoko Taro's teams will continue on this sustained pace of publication after this more successful second attempt.

Even if we feel that the Moonscars formula is not at its full potential, the Black Mermaid studio delivers here a solid and often quite ingenious action-RPG. Between mixing genres with a touch of rogue-lite; two-speed difficulty; good sensations in combat and beautiful artistic direction, there is really something going on, controller in hand. It is finally two or three inaccuracies, in terms of balancing and finishing, which pull Moonscars down. Regardless, it's always a pleasure to restart a game. Beyond its surprising concept vis-à-vis its license, Final Fantasy VII: First Soldier is a classic mobile Battle Royale but effective in many aspects. Graphically simple but fluid, playable on the touchscreen as well as on the controller, Square Enix's title takes up different ideas from the competition for a BR experience that is both accessible and complete. Finally, despite all its qualities, the biggest stake of First Soldier is to know who it is really for, between the fans of Final Fantasy unaccustomed to this kind of game and the overloaded market of BR on mobile.

This includes options to facilitate learning without forgetting veterans who will be able to rediscover the ultimate versions of their fighting games, now playable online against real opponents remotely. But despite these efforts, it's hard to deny that these titles won't appeal to everyone for several reasons: the gameplay is sometimes dated, the graphics are from another era, even if the overall package hasn't aged so badly. Furthermore, they all require a significant investment to really get the most out of them.

Uninhibited brick breaker, the Pastagames title has the good idea of integrating an ingenious Battle Royale mode, but also a single or multiplayer mode for long winter evenings. While the game loses some momentum towards the end due to a lack of content, it compensates with its lightheartedness and artistic direction. But despite these efforts, it's hard to deny that these titles won't appeal to everyone for several reasons: the gameplay is sometimes dated, the graphics are from another era, even if the overall package hasn't aged so badly. Furthermore, they all require a significant investment to really get the most out of them...

Equally deep being on the battlefield or behind a commander desk, Battletech is a good game for all XCOM lovers, if they can accept its poor visual aspect and a clear lack of polishing.

Very respectful of the hit of yesteryear, Arkanoid Eternal Battle is adorned with a successful electro look and new mechanics that will delight fans of the genre. Uninhibited brick breaker, the Pastagames title has the good idea of integrating an ingenious Battle Royale mode, but also a single or multiplayer mode for long winter evenings. If the content could be more generous – if only in terms of rewards – the room for improvement is such that we come back to it regularly to improve our reflexes. A good little game that is just waiting for a large community to give full meaning to the Battle Royale.

For its frankly unforgettable concept and its completely absurd sequences, Not For Broadcast constitutes an almost unmissable experience. Aficionados of British humor and satirical dystopias will be served by the actors' performances as convincing as they are extravagant. Too bad that our freedom of action within the management of the National Nightly News is so restricted and that our maneuvers quickly become too mechanical.

Moving from TPS to FPS isn’t a easy thing to do, but that’s something Shadowgun achieves with greatness. Far from perfect, the game fits better with short play sessions because otherwise it may feel repetitive.

It's hard not to be charmed by Naraka Bladepoint. Its refreshing approach to the Battle Royale genre will convince the bravest, while the less patient will probably not have the temerity to go beyond a few hours. When we see the game design choices made by 24 Entertainment, we can only salute the nerve. It is therefore all the more regrettable to face a monetization unworthy of a paid game, present at all levels, and which will ultimately reward relatively little those who decide to really get involved.

F1 Manager 2022 was a fairly successful first attempt, and F1 Manager 2023 is following suit despite a tight development time. The software is a reference on the visual rendering of the races, far ahead of Football Manager and other Pro Cycling, with clever ergonomics and accomplished graphics in the preview of the Grands Prix. Effectively helped by the acquisition of all the licenses and a faithful modeling of the pilots, the title from Frontier does not yet reach the gargantuan content and the possibilities of its elders in the genre, but a few years will undoubtedly be enough for it to become the holy grail of sports management games.

Despite these qualities, Three Hopes is nonetheless a Musô with inherent flaws in this kind of game, such as a certain repetitiveness in the gameplay which will put some people off. As for the technique, if the graphics are simple, the framerate manages to remain stable as a whole, even if it happens to have slowdowns. A pleasant return to Fódlan in itself.

Cyber Shadow keeps its promise without question. This tribute to Ninja Gaiden draws on period games to give us a fun and exhilarating platform / action game. Bosses all over the place, an agile hero and a pretty tough challenge, that's exactly what we hoped for. While it will surprise players less than a Shovel Knight or The Messenger, who went further in their ambitions, it remains a good experience for fans of the genre.

Brutal yet technical, Ninja Gaiden 4 ticks the boxes of what we'd expect from a good 3D beat 'em up like a ninja stringing life beads from the Gods. Driven almost exclusively by its rich combat gameplay, the baby of the Team Ninja/PlatinumGames couple delivers the essentials without being as sharp as we would have liked. The environments lack soul in addition to being repetitive, progression is marred by a flashback that makes us repeat the same levels/bosses, the weapons are few and far between, and various choices are questionable. Sometimes "wow", sometimes "meh", Ninja Gaiden 4 suffers from an irregularity that could be scorned by shinobi masters. Nevertheless, the heart of the game - the action - beats so strongly that we willingly return to it to lose our heads... by splitting those of others.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! provides the show and offers fans of the "Yakuza" saga an epic feudal epic at will. This remake in no way distorts the original 2014 experience, but modernizes the visuals and gameplay enough to make the adventure memorable a decade later. Ishin! is not perfect, far from it, and has some shortcomings, especially technical. However, the pleasure of playing a “Yakuza” game is there, and that is the main thing.
