    As a whole, Journey to the Savage Planet is a rather simple game but still manages to find unique ways to challenge a player both during combat and exploration. My only dislike is that there could have been a few more side missions that didn’t revolve around item collection. It would have been great to have more incentive to go off the main path aside from hunting for upgrades. But in saying that, I found the exploration aspect of this game quite fun thanks to the innovative level design. This is definitely a fun little game that is worth checking out or playing with a friend.

    I enjoyed my time with Journey to the Savage Planet, not only for its simplistic gameplay and exploration of an interesting and beautiful planet, but especially for its humor. Even the way that you hold items in your left hand throughout is funny, as is every email and commercial you receive on your ship. Typhoon Studios has created something special in their very first outing as a developer, and while it may not be perfect, it sure was an interesting Journey to the Savage Planet.

Perfectly paced, genuinely charming, and rewardingly explorable, developer Typhoon Studios’ debut is a love letter to thoughtful game design and the ancient art of fun over function. If you grew up loving 3D platformers and games with worlds that felt bigger than they actually were, Journey to the Savage Planet will make you feel like you’re coming home.

    With a colourful alien world, cheeky satirical story and heaps of potential for self-directed exploration, Journey to the Savage Planet promises a happier and more completable small-scale take on familiar first-person exploration ideas, even if the back half of the game funnels you more and more towards prescribed scenarios and combat.

    Journey to the Savage Planet is a game with a lot of nice ideas – trying to single-handedly twist a well-worn genre into new and exciting shapes – but ultimately doesn’t quite have the courage to commit to them. There’s a lot to enjoy, particularly in its opening hours, but for all its grand ambitions, Savage Planet ultimately falls back on tired ideas to see it through to an underwhelming end. Like the ship you’re trying to repair throughout, it’s an admirable thing, but it can’t quite nail the landing.

    Very funny, great mechanics and excellent environments. It feels a triple A game at less than half the price. I would highly recommend this game

    Exploration of beautiful biomes, crazy creatures and a lot of humor make this game perfect if you need to change your mind. I'm not sure this is as unique as it sounds, but with incredibly easy to grasp mechanics and a genuinely funny, imaginative world, it sets itself apart from other games. I do think there could have been greater incentive to explore, other than just the necessity to find items, because it never offers much sanctification in the exploration and discovery as a result. The game is either very easy or very difficult, which indicates a balancing issue and makes the game's intended audience difficult to pin down. I also encountered a few bugs. Its a fun game with some obvious charm but not much more.… Expand

    Il s'agit d'une sorte de "No man's Sky" en moins buggué (c'est pas difficile...) pas buggué du tout même (à ce qu'il m'a semblé) mais deIl s'agit d'une sorte de "No man's Sky" en moins buggué (c'est pas difficile...) pas buggué du tout même (à ce qu'il m'a semblé) mais de dimensions et d'ambitions nettement plus modestes... C'est techniquement tout-à-fait présentable avec l'habituel moteur Unreal 4 assez bien maîtrisé ici, ma foi.

    Le ton et l'ambiance sont néanmoins complètement différents de l'autre daube : c'est ici en effet beaucoup moins sérieux... et davantage... voire carrément débile en fait. Il faut donc se faire à l'humour québécois, y compris avec le doublage intégralement en québécois et les tics de langage si typiques... ou atypiques pour nous en tout cas !

    On explore donc la planète, on ramasse des machins et des trucs pour fabriquer ensuite des bidules, afin de réparer le vaisseau et ainsi de suite... j'ignore s'il y a une autre planète après, car la débilité générale, les flatulences et la répétition de l'ensemble ont eu raison de ma patience. Les allers et retours incessants entre le vaisseau et les endroits de ce monde peu aisé à parcourir et d'un mauvais goût trop envahissant, l'absence de toute carte rendent l'expérience décidément trop déplaisante.

    A la fois trop limité et trop débile, il reste mieux... que le sale étron de Hello Games mais à peine... finalement.    … Expand
