Were Spyro games actually good 20 years ago? That’s what we wondered when we first launched Spyro Reignited Trilogy until we gladly discover that yes, they were. And still are, despite an outdated first episode.

With Ghostrunner 2, the One More Level studio is making an action-adventure shift that is not without its challenges. By focusing on larger and not always very precise areas, we lose a little of what made the first part charming... Here, “die and retry” is more often synonymous with frustration, which results in a less addictive experience! The adventure is thus punctuated by attempts (more or less successful) to flesh out the experience - with a few passages that stand out, particularly in the second part. We therefore end up with a pleasant experience, driven by gameplay that is always effective, but which gets lost a little too often.

This fourth additional campaign for Borderlands 3 is undoubtedly not the most generous in terms of content, but remains very successful thanks to a good story, a very endearing duo of characters (the two Kriegs) and humor bordering on the absurd that hits the mark.

Windjammers 2 is the logical continuation of the episode released in 1994: new characters, new mechanics and online ranked games, it comes out with all the advantages expected of such a title in 2022. in easy hand does not close the door to neophytes while the added moves constitute an additional strategic layer for amateurs of high level game. That said, it must be recognized that the title of Dotemu is sorely lacking in content and that it will hardly hook solo players in the long term.

It is impossible to fault Crimson Desert for the sheer generosity it displays. Yet, by pushing this dial too far, Pearl Abyss finds itself ensnared by its own ambitions. The result is a stark disconnect between the technical and immersive qualities of its world and the actual content within it. The storyline leaves one feeling almost entirely indifferent; quests follow one another, largely indistinguishable in their structure; and boss battles—at times approachable, at others absurdly difficult—often force us to repeat the same routine ad nauseam. Fortunately, the gameplay—despite its minor flaws—constantly evolves, infusing the adventure with a cathartic, stress-relieving energy—something absolutely essential to help digest the puzzles devised by the development team. Inconsistent—much like the rest of the game—these puzzles nevertheless have the merit of bringing players together and fostering a genuine sense of community engagement. Add to this an astronomical amount of content—enough to make any completionist’s eyes light up—and you end up with a title that will keep your mind occupied for hundreds of hours. Yes, the journey is enjoyable, exotic, and even stimulating from time to time; yet, Crimson Desert ultimately lacked the structural fortitude to support the lofty pedestal upon which it was placed.

Lone Echo II is in the right lineage of the first episode and above all enhances a formula that has proven itself. We therefore find a very endearing duo, an ultra-immersive weightless control system, a clever scenario and a classic science-fiction universe, but well developed. However, he can be criticized for relying a little too much on the qualities of the initial game as well as a jagged pace, in particular because of a somewhat sluggish start to the adventure. Still, this is a must-see sequel if you loved the previous game and are eager to uncover Jack and Liv's fate.

Anno 117 Pax Romana is superb, well-balanced, and rich in options. While the campaign is rather disappointing, its management mechanics are well-oiled, and building beautiful, balanced cities is a pleasure. But once the comfortable routine of a functional city is established, interest wanes due to a real pacing problem. Salvation comes from the ability to manage both provinces simultaneously, which greatly revives interest. Far from other mobile adaptations of successful manga, the title offers a richer than average combat system as well as an open-world that we rarely see on these media. Unfortunately, despite these qualities, the game is nonetheless a gatcha which relies on frustration mechanisms based on energy gauges and lotteries to recover characters. To be reserved for MHA fans who are not allergic to mobile free-to-play therefore. It remains to be seen whether the title will offer enough content in the future to keep players in suspense.

Certainly, the single-player open-world RPG has evolved a lot in 20 years. Even if The Elder Scrolls IV remains an incredibly rich title, various elements remind us that we are indeed facing a software released in 2006. But what we must not forget is that Oblivion was ahead of its time and that it still has serious arguments in 2025. Virtuos' love letter to Bethesda's work is in any case very strong: it's beautiful, it's intelligently renovated and it remains faithful to the soul of a creation that marked its time. With Marvel Future Revolution, Netmarble has given itself the means to achieve its ambitions. Pushed graphics for mobile, dynamic gameplay, mechanics of numerous evolutions, dimension MMO and open zones ... The title wants to exceed the limits of its support to the point of being particularly greedy in terms of resources and battery. If the title has something to keep players in suspense thanks to its content, once the "whaoww" effect is exceeded, we are a little more cooled by the progress at times tedious and the overload of menus which make the experience less pleasant to browse. It remains to be seen whether the game will be entitled to a follow-up as exemplary as that of Marvel Future Fight to become in turn one of the essential Marvel games on mobile.

Nice and smooth in 720p, Overwatch on the Nintendo Switch is a good experience, but keep in mind that you'll need a Pro Controller to handle it well, because the Switch Joysticks definitely aren't made for FPS gameplays.

Just Cause 4, on PC, is a totally free sandbox experience where physics matter. Unluckily, the repetitive aspect of missions objectives will disappoint those who seek more than a physic playground, even if its combat system has evolved.

GRID isn’t a revolution for the racing games genre but that’s not what we asking him to be. It’s a cool little racer with clean visual, accessible driving and a good variety of races.

The big disappointment comes from the lack of inventiveness of the title, whether in the course of the career or in the articulation of the modes of play. The body of DiRT is rather nice this year, but the engine needs a supplement.

Even if Tails of Iron has some flaws, starting with its back and forth and its combat system that lacks evolution, the title is simply charming. Helped by its panoply of charismatic characters, its sumptuous visuals and its successful fights requiring precision and coordination, the creation of Odd Bug Studio offers a magnificent journey that we can only recommend ... at least, if the difficulty does not suit you. Don't be afraid.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties could well be a model for all remakes. Imperfect in many respects, particularly technical ones, it distinguishes itself through its commitment to enriching its narrative and gameplay experience, and its wealth of additional content. It's undeniable that SEGA and the Ryu Ga Gotoku studio rolled up their sleeves to offer players the best and most comprehensive experience possible. However, this third installment in Kazuma Kiryu's adventures fails to overcome a narrative that overshadows the gameplay and to break free from the limitations of the aging Dragon Engine.

Pacific Drive must be given the time it deserves to understand its myriad parameters and be able to appreciate them properly. But the atmosphere and the special relationship you create with the car really elevate the experience to a thoroughly enjoyable level. Naturally striking with its attractive concept, Ironwood Studios' game compensates for a redundant gameplay loop with a unique character.

The concept remains the same and wisely: the formula works, it allows you to exercise, to work your cardiovascular system, even to strengthen your muscles for the most motivated and this without having to move away from home.

As you will have understood, with the Nintendo Switch version and this move to free-to-play, Fall Guys is in perfect continuity with what it has always offered: a pleasant and fun game, which is now possible to take everywhere with you. A new era that makes it even more mainstream than in the past, especially with the arrival of cross-platform and cross-progression. With that in mind, Fall Guys' new business model isn't intrusive at all, with real-money purchases being for cosmetic items only. What to enjoy without worrying about the levels already added and those that are coming. We just regret a slightly disappointing Switch version. In short, this is the perfect opportunity to launch the crazy races of Fall Guys.

Scarlet Nexus is a big hit when it comes to the action. With its nervous and supercharged fights, you quickly become powerful controller in hand, especially when you can borrow the power of your allies on the fly. This action is helped by framerate which does not falter on next-gen consoles despite the deluge of effects on the screen which can cause readability concerns. If the proposed universe is visually attractive, we regret not being able to enjoy it anymore because of a cruel lack of additional content. Ditto for the story which is certainly interesting but which is served by a more than minimalist staging. A good first draft which, we hope, will serve as a solid basis for a more ambitious sequel in the years to come.
