Nov 25, 2025Anno 117: Pax Romana mixes the best of RTS design with the signature charm of the Anno series, resulting in a game that not only lives up to its name but also ranks among the finest city builders we’ve seen in years.
-
Nov 13, 2025As a newcomer to the Anno franchise, Anno 117: Pax Romana has completely blown me away. I've sunk days into this game, and still feel like I need weeks to get comfortable, and months to get confident - and I absolutely love that.
-
Nov 21, 2025A fantastic new entry into the Anno series, Anno 117: Pax Romana takes players back further than any game in the series. With deep, engaging mechanics, this is a must-play for both veterans of and newcomers to the franchise!
-
Nov 10, 2025Whether you're a series veteran or a newcomer, Anno 117: Pax Romana is a delightfully deep time-sink of a game. This gripping historical(ish) city-builder will have you hooked thanks to its complex drama and engrossing gameplay.
-
Nov 17, 2025Anno 117: Pax Romana is an incredibly rich historical strategy game that adapts to whatever the player needs it to be. Whether that’s a cosy city-builder offering boundless customisation, a deep economy management sim, or a competitive RTS, Ubisoft Mainz ticks all the boxes with flair.
-
Nov 10, 2025Anno 117: Pax Romana feels like an attempt by Ubisoft to find a happy medium, with a streamlined approach to the game that tells a compelling story and opens up the gameplay for more casual players. It’s overall a compelling move, helping keep the game pace strong while delivering on a polished and compelling game world. It’s easy to get lost in the story and worldbuilding, expanding into Celtic lands and debating the right balanced approach to assimilation and growth. While hardcore strategy games might balk at some of the simplification, it all makes Anno 117: Pax Romana a more entertaining title than many others in the genre.
-
Nov 10, 2025Anno 117: Pax Roma delivers the same satisfying city-building loop as Anno 1800 but offers little innovation beyond a Roman skin. While still fun and deep for newcomers, veterans may find it more like a reskin. The PS5 version suffers from mediocre graphics, hard to navigate UI, and awkward controller support - but keyboard and mouse are supported. Good game, flawed console port.
