It may owe a lot to Hidden in Plain Sight but Unspottable manages to elevate its gameplay to new heights with its super-fun gimmicks.

A very good pick for a sofa or remote night on the computer.

If you’ve got a few gamers in the house then I highly recommend picking Unspottable up. It’ll provide a good few laughs (and arguments) and is quite different to most of what is out there already. Hiding in plain sight while trying to suss out those around you is a lot of fun. Just bear in mind that this is a strictly local multiplayer title.

Overall, Unspottable is a joyful experience to have with friends and relatives on the same screen – as long as you can – and throw one or two (digital) punches at them with no real-life consequences – unless they are sore losers.

Unspottable on Xbox does bring some new ideas to the table which work in short blasts, or in longer blasts that are fuelled by social lubricant. But it does get quite old, quite fast. It's not that it is a bad game; it's just that the secondary objectives tend to go out of the window once the sleeves are rolled up, and every match fast turns into a slug-fest.

Blend the crowd of AI characters, track down other players, and use a number of different environment-specific rules to win the game. Walk like a robot and punch like a human being. Unspottable is a local multiplayer party game focused on deception. It's quite similar to the game Hidden in Plain Sight, except while the game focuses on more tactical, slow-paced gameplay, Unspottable focuses on quick and light-hearted gameplay. The basic concept of Unspottable involves players trying to fit in with a group of AI-controlled characters running around randomly. Each stage you are given a mission to accomplish, which is always a challenge to achieve without making it clear who you are. You can also win the round by reaching all the other human teams, so there are many pathways to Focusing on the challenge is a positive idea, but it still puts you at risk of being found out, because some players can want to track down others who do the task. It's a fun dichotomy that gives the game a lot of life and appeal to replay. Visually, the game is grim, but, considering the genre, it's passable. It's got a strange art style that doesn't work too well for me, but it's going to vary from person to person. The sound design is solid, but not the subject of the game, so it's barely noticeable. Unspottable isn't a full experience, but it's a memorable one. Sitting down with a few friends to chase each other in a crowd of spectators may deliver some amusing moments, but the limits of the game may make them few and far between. Unspottable is everything you want from a couch party game. It's easy to pick up and enjoy, and there's a potential for all kinds of shenanigans. Other party games may offer more variety and, most importantly, multiplayer modes, but Unspottable sticks to its heart and is a lot of fun. So if you’re looking for a great couch party game, look no further and head directly to the Xbox digital games store and download it today! Expand
