Plainly put, Sniper Elite 5 not only managed to meet my expectations but far surpass them. What I thought would be a fun game for a couple of hours at most became quickly a phenomenal release I couldn't get more of. Whether I charged in guns blazing or tried to be the ideal sniper or I did the side quests or main objectives, I had fun.

Putting it under the scope, Rebellion Developments has delivered a coherent, open-ended stealth experience filled with plenty of freedom. This is peak Sniper Elite, with so much about the game inspiring tactical, sneaky gameplay that makes you feel like a real wartime marksman.

Overall, Sniper Elite 5 is a very high quality and very playable addition to the Sniper Elite series. It offers an interesting environment, great replayability, but also plenty of cooperation and multiplayer options. Really good choice.

Sniper Elite 5 excels at being an entertaining experience with a high level of tactical challenge that matches the player’s engagement. It’s a game that delivers on everything it’s trying to provide and doubles down with excellent sniping mechanics, gun customization, and gorgeous environments. It can be a bit overly complicated in some areas, and the random AI glitches can hurt the immersion, but this is the best entry of the series to date, and I don’t see it slowing down any time soon.

Sniper Elite 5 is the best game in the series so far. Its intricately designed levels, deep weapon customization system, and satisfying gameplay offer hours upon hours of entertaining ways to kill Nazis. After five games, the game’s story and character development still feel too underdeveloped, making every mission blend together in an unending series of contextless kill cams and gravelly voiced one-liners, but if you don’t care about any of that then you will still find a lot to enjoy.

Although technically dated, the game offers a neat aesthetic and is based on French landscapes (including the very vertical Mont Saint Michel) which will have a particular resonance with the inhabitants of France.

Sniper Elite 5 is a mission pack disguised as a sequel, with a bunch of small, unremarkable adjustments to the tried formula.

A couple nit-pics though, it does have that AA jank going on, especially with Karl sliding into enemies from behind for stealth take-downs way too often, and way too many invisible walls and uncreative boundaries. But if you're looking for a solid 3rd person tactical shooter, and already played Metal Gear 5 and the Ghost Recon open world games, you can do a lot worse Expand

The animations are Jank and the absence of a crouch sprint makes the game feel too slow. Not that being methodical and slow in a sniping game is a bad thing. But to go through each area without any choice of traversal speed, especially since most of the time if you play stealthily, can make it feel like a slog. Most of the time it comes down to CQC and the sniping feels like an after thought. The maps feel like there made of choke points guiding you from one area to the next with no feel of real openness found in Sniper elite 4. Once you reach an area there is a bit of freedom to infiltrate from multiple angles but it still seems very restricted more so than the pervious title. The AI is all over the place here. From starting combat when they were not provoked to just randomly running for no reason. When hiding bodies in crates, because sure why not, and reloading a saved game next to said crate sometimes the bodies will just fall through the side asking an invisible area that you can't walk though.  All in all it's not a horrible game but definitely a let down. Though the sniper elite games aren't known for there polish. This one at least looks and runs good. But with a myriad of negative changes it just doesn't feel as fun as the previous game. Expand

Kinda boring game even in coop mode, and this despite the fact that devs added red phantoms from "souls like" games. Weapon arsenal is alsoKinda boring game even in coop mode, and this despite the fact that devs added red phantoms from "souls like" games. Weapon arsenal is also strange thing in this game since you dont need all of this guns if it feels practically the same so you probably gonna pick one of them and complete whole game using only one rifle. The same thing with modifications for weapons you probably gonna unlock silencer for all your weapons (i mean sniper rifle, smg and pistol) and that it all another is kinda useless. The plot is present in the game, some but it is not memorable. Graphical and sound part also feels aceptable. The only strong plus of this game the can complete whole game in coop mode (it kinda rare nowadays). So as a conclusion acceptable game for coop with your friend but don't expect much about this game this just time killer while you waiting for new releases. Expand
