Sep 30, 2019Shinsekai: Into the Depths falters from time to time, but it more than makes up for its shortcomings with an original premise, immersive sound design, and expert worldbuilding. If you end up playing this game – and I strongly recommend that you do – just make sure to wear headphones.

Oct 10, 2019Shinsekai: Into the Depth is a good surprise. It shows that some mobile games can play on the same level as any console or PC game. Great progression, nice atmospher, the only issue is that the controls aren’t always reactive enough.

Oct 22, 2019In the time I had with it, I saw a lot of potential, but not too much interesting or challenging happening in the first hour or so. The slow pace is also a blessing and a curse: easy to handle with touch controls, but often dragging out basic movement in ways that kill the pace of the game. Your goals are also not entirely clear, which can be a motivation-killer in a wide-open game like this.
