  • Summary: The world has been thrown into chaos by an ancient evil from another dimension. As one of the last remnants of humanity, you must set out alone or alongside up to two other survivors to face down hordes of deadly enemies to try to carve a foothold, rebuild, and retake what was lost.

    As a fan of these kinds of games, I can say that Remnant: From the Ashes is a type of soulslike that I would have probably passed over in favor of something more traditional, but after giving it a fair shot I’m glad to say that it’s the successful spin on the genre that I didn’t know I wanted.

    Remnant: From the Ashes lies somewhere in between Dark Souls and your typical randomized rogue-like. It features an intense co-op PvE combat formula, mixed with a beautifully crafted world and a smart understanding of the RPG features. As a result, it will give you a nearly infinite amount of satisfactory playthroughs.

    Remnant: From the Ashes is an entertaining and challenging game, that also give us some options to try its gameplay and challenge its enemies. However, you should not forget that it's mainly a coop game, and playing alone can be tough or even frustrating for the most part of the journey.

    Remnant is a cool co-cop TPS experience that is difficult for newcommers but really immersive, while offering great bossfights and an adaptative skill-system.

    Remnant: From the Ashes is a brilliant game that will undoubtedly satisfy the masochistic urges of all those Souls-Like (really can't apologise enough) fanatics out there that need their next fix of brutal punishment in the form of a video game. The game is let down by a few minor faults and won't provide the same amount of gameplay that the majority of Souls games deliver to players, but the positives of this game far outweigh its negatives and the ability to replay it and take it on with friends negate the admittedly short standard campaign time.

    I had been mulling over whether or not to play this game for a while. I dont play a lot of co-op games but a couple of friends of mine areI had been mulling over whether or not to play this game for a while. I dont play a lot of co-op games but a couple of friends of mine are always wanting for us to play together, so I suggested this while it was on PS+.

    It took a little while for my friends to warm up to it, while I was thoroughly enjoying it from the first minute. It didnt take long though and both of my mates (who are regular co-op game players) were all having a great time with the game.

    The graphics and music are okay... probably a little above average, and the sound effects are better, helping to deliver a proper impact when your bullets etc. connect with an enemy. It is the gameplay where the game truly shines though, it all just flows extremely well and with the exception of being unable to 'shoot-from-the-hip' (the main frustration my friends encountered during our first session) it all controls precisely as you would want a third-person shooter to do so.

    It is easily both, the best game I have played so far this year... and the best co-op game I have ever played. My friends also rated it extremely highly in the vast list of co-op games that they have played. An absolute hidden gem of a game and I so hope that Gunfire Games will make a sequel one day.    … Expand

Combat is great, ranged weapons feels so satisfying to use, melee combat feels good too. Remnant has it's own unique style. Art and vision of Gunfire Games are incredible, if you played Darksiders, you know what i mean. It's surprisingly challenging and fast paced at the same time. Multiplayer is fun as hell. First game in long time that I enjoyed with my friends. Solo is great too. Don't miss it, it's hidden gem, especially if Souls genre warms your heart.… Expand

    In General, the game is wonderful, it has never been so interesting to explore the world as after the games from Fromsoftware. The game often throws you excessive complexity, motivating to farm, and this is best done in coop, because then you can not move forward alone, and your world researched and collected resources. And yes, don't wait someone connect to your game! ;) And so I'm going to play on the network to collect resources and level up. I get into a random game, a random location where I may not have the resources I need. I get on the bosses, which can be trying for hours or even the last boss in the game! Matchmaking it just does not hold water! In this case, if you leave the game, no matter for what reason, disconnect, exit, you was kicked by another player - there is a timeout few minutes during which to go to a new or create your own session you can not. "You already in session!" And so can occur over and over again, so instead of playing you will observe a menu or repeatedly trying your own game alone. I write this review just in one of these moments. Developers, please fix the network! Make matchmaking closer to your current task and remove unjustified timeout on creating network sessions! If two players in squad don't need third player - make it possible to restrict number of players. There is nothing more annoying than a good game that you can't play!… Expand
