What if these bloodthirsty predators lived hidden among us, meticulously and skilfully hatching ancient conspiracies? And what if you became one of them? In Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong, you play as these alluring monsters in a sophisticated world where the lines between the real and supernatural are always blurred.

Hazel Iversen, the Swan, is the new Prince of the Boston Camarilla. An iron hand in a velvet glove, she intends to assert her power and respect the Masquerade, the vampiric law designed to ensure humans never learn of the existence of these creatures of the night. But nothing works as planned. With rumours of plots, murders and power struggles, you must work in the shadows to protect your Sect in a frantic investigation that plunges Boston into chaos.

Play as 3 vampires who are over a hundred years old. Progress through the game through their intertwined destinies, deal with their different points of view and use their character sheets to try to separate the truth from the lies. Each character has their own abilities and vampiric disciplines that you can upgrade individually to suit your preferred approach.
Will you choose intimidation, seduction or stealth? It's your decision, as long as you can sate your Hunger for blood.

With its unique approach to gameplay, Swansong puts emphasis on the consequences of your actions in both the investigation and your social interactions with characters. Analyse each situation carefully because your decisions can have huge consequences on your heroes' lives and the fate of the Boston Camarilla.

An engaging experience to sink one’s teeth into, Swansong may have its faults, but it offers a blood-curdling plot and amazing characters that simply can’t be found anywhere else.

Vampire - The Masquerade: Swansong offers a deep RPG game and an engrossing story, with some well-designed puzzles along the way.

Detective work with the three vampire protagonists is entertaining even without combat, as long as you can dodge the balance traps.

Gripping supernatural subterfuge meets perfunctory mechanics. Worth it to explore the World of Darkness, though.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong tells an incredible story, one the player can truly influence, but it falls short in many of the efforts to translate the World of Darkness into video game form. A must-play for fans of the universe, but fans of the narrative-driven RPG may find more frustration than enjoyment.

Moral murkiness helps preserve the tension across Swansong’s duration. There’s always something at stake – your life, the masquerade, your integrity – and that does a lot to infuse some meaning into all the talking and scouring rooms for notes. I doubt that Swansong is set to become a vampire RPG of legend, like 2004’s Bloodlines, but it nonetheless makes vampires scary again.

Swansong ultimately has little to recommend it. Its writing is stilted, its storytelling muddled, and its puzzle design is mostly unimaginative. Sadly, there isn't even any kind of worthwhile payoff if you do manage to see it through to its conclusion. I reached a point where I was thinking I'd hit the close of the second act, and then the game ended. Just like this.

The game is a challenge, it is not the typical game that shows you everything through arrows and glowing things. You have to look for answers by yourself, make your own conclusions and make your own decisions. You want a password? you have to pay attention, cause the password is not gonna be glowing in the darkness so you can see it.
The dialogs are great and they change depending on your attributes, abilities, etc.
It is a great game. It is not for everyone, of course. If you wanted an action RPG you WON'T like it, and I would recommend to wait for the Bloodlines 2 (Still hopeful T_T)

I know that I am in the minority but I really like this game. Ever since Telltale put the final nail in the coffin of adventure (quest) games I am trying really hard to find a game with actual puzzles. Well, this game has them. Yes, they are not the best, and the dialogue is far from perfect. But it's a nice vampire story with interesting characters. The skill system is also pretty good and is enough reason to replay the game in the future. Expand

Graphics and animations give away that the game's budget was likely rather limited, but I still find it a decent addition to the VtM series. Of course it can't stand up to the first Bloodlines' writing, but I've had little to no expectations for this game to begin with in light of all news related to the Bloodlines 2, so I was pleasantly surprised. Swansong is definitely a piece of good news to me since they announced a VtM battle royale, and Bloodlines 2 got stuck in the development hell. At least it actually feels like Vampire the Masquerade despite characters looking goofy.

A small (or not really) update after beating the game. I still like it, but I think ambiguous could the best way to describe it. Visually, it looks as if the game can't quite decide if it wants to be realistic or cartoony, and we end up with environments that actually look appealing, but with character models and animations which remind me of GTA "Definitive" Trilogy, it's more or less bearable in the beginning, but the longer you look at them, the more you cringe. The parts of the game where you have to play a vampire detective and confrontations are what I liked the most in this game, though I wish dialogues were treated similar to Disco Elysium, so that failing a check was also an interesting outcome rather that just a plain failure that doesn't lead to anything worth even trying if you don't have a 100% success chance. And most of the puzzles were really annoying, at least to me. Also, It would be nice if endings had epilogues that would show you more long-term consequences of your choices. There are a couple of those, actually, but they don't reflect like 90% (if not more) of the choices you've made throughout the game, and they are just plain text on a black (and red) screen, which is rather disappointing. I mean, is it so hard to at least put some artwork instead of plain text? But despite all that, this game somehow managed to convince me that this is actually a game set in the World of Darkness universe, you can feel that the devs cared about the lore and the atmosphere despite the lack of resources and likely experience. It's not able to fill Bloodlines' shoes by any means, not even close, but it's definitely better than 0. I think the developers of this game have potential. I would like to see what they would pull off if they were given a ton of money and a team of experienced artists and the like.

Нет графики. Нет геймплея. Нет сюжета. Но повестки больше чем эта игра весит.

Not a very captivating or engaging game. Unless you already are immerse in the lore of VTM, this is gonna be a slog of a game. I don't careNot a very captivating or engaging game. Unless you already are immerse in the lore of VTM, this is gonna be a slog of a game. I don't care about sjw politics or agenda; it doesn't bother me -- I just like good games. To immediately throw around terms like sjw really deflects from the low quality character designs in this game. It's as if the devs plugged in the characters in a random generator and said, "good enough". They have random blotches, or are just plain hideous looking. I mean, some of the nosferato or warlocks look better than some "human" characters. To top it all off, they all have wooden expressions and facial animations. Galeb is the only decent-looking character.

Want to make a game people want to play? Have some decent looking character designs. If you don't, then they better have some good personality to win people over. This game doesn't have any of it. And I know the dev can do it, since they made their previous game, The Council, have a decent looking characters (female characters, at least).

Now onto the story itself -- it's starts off with a boring investigation about a Code Red that goes off during a Unification party. I don't understand the stakes at hand here, so I don't really care. This is why it's so hard to get into this text-heavy game. Doesn't engage the player at all. There's a lot of politicking going on between factions, but you don't really care about any of it.

There's also a lot of dumb things in this game that needed to be cut. The first time you suck someone's blood, you've seen it already. I don't need to view the same scene again every time I drink blood, and to play that mini-game that isn't a challenge. It's such a waste of time. Janky controls add to the frustration.

Also, the publisher Nacon is very greedy. If you want to buy the PS4 version, you don't get the PS5 upgrade for free. If you buy PS4, there is no free upgrade which is now normalized, or even an upgrade path. You gotta buy the entire PS5 version. They have a "special" edition, called Primogen edition, that you need to buy if you want BOTH PS4 & PS5 versions. Honestly, the quality of this game is so poor, they really need to be giving out free or discount copies as much as they can. At least they can probably get some word-of-mouth out of it.
