If you missed this game on the previous consoles, now is the perfect time to buy as it contains everything plus RTX and more importantly, it is a fantastic story that draws you in and drives you on. If you are a fan of The X-Files or similar genre shows, material… I have no doubt you will enjoy this. An exceptional job from the whole team!

Control: Ultimate Edition is the definitive version of Remedy's adventure. Bringing together the worlds Remedy has created under one roof and looking stunning while doing so, Remedy has done a fantastic job of upgrading and improving the experience in meaningful, additive ways, such as the use of the DualSense controller and Ray-Tracing. There isn't a universe more worth exploring and losing yourself in than the one in Control.

Control: Ultimate Edition on PlayStation 5 is a real treat. Gone are all the technical issues that plagued the game on the old generation of consoles: loading times are lightning fast, textures load instantly, and the game runs smooth as silk. Ray Tracing is also an impressive addition to what is already one of the best games of recent times.

By combining elements of Neo-Noir, urban fantasy, and conspiracy theory science fiction, Remedy’s Control offers a lot for anyone looking for a piece of medium with a good dollop of old and experimental game mechanics mixed with fun combat and a great story. While the combat could use a little tweaking, there’s no denying how much the folks over at Remedy value and respect the lore and characters they’ve created. Here’s hoping the sequel improves upon this foundation and gives us something truly amazing.

This Ultimate Edition is the best way to play Control on consoles, with the best graphic quality available and solid framerates. It doesn’t address some of its issues, like the ridiculously large amount of documents you need to read, but the gameplay is still fantastic and it plays better than ever before.

The best version of Control so far, that makes good use of the PlayStation 5’s features and leaves plenty of hope and anticipation for a future sequel.

Without being a graphical revolution, Control Ultimate Edition's Next Gen patch freshens up the game a bit and gives good reasons to discover Jesse's paranormal adventures on PS5 or Xbox Series. The quality of life and immersion improvements are welcome, but the focus should have been more on solving some of the original game technical problems.

It's a perfect balance of simplicity and depth. Graphics are great, story is good, gameplay is fantastic, character progression (skill tree) is actually meaningful and changes the whole dynamics of the game. Very fun, very playable. Got the platinum trophy! Expand

    Control is great.
I loved playing it on the PS4 when it originally came out.
The game has a fabulous sci-fii/psychological twin-peaks esc tone to it that makes it stand out compared to over games on the market. I loved this gme so much that it was defintely my favorite realse of 2019.
In saying this, the base PS4 console really struggled to keep a solid performance. The game would dip consistently to roughly 23 - 30 frames and have this horrible stutter effect that would seriously break the immersion/mystery of the setting.

this next gen version of the game makes it seriously worth playing through again. Smooth 60 fps performance and also ray-tracing mode for extra graphical enhancements. It makes the kinetic movement and fast-past hard shooting action loop of the game much more enjoyable.

the actual narrative is weak (technically) but the setting is so captivating and oppressive. It truly is quite unique.

This is currently Free for PS+ members. I would highly suggest getting it now. Controversially I bought control when it first game out and was initially salty that I would have to purchase the game again for a Next Gen upgrade (it's absolute **** honestly?) This *for myself* is a nice mild ground however.

Hopefully they do eventually give people a free update and not force you to buy this Ultimate Edition.

despite this, I really love control. I am loving going back and playing through the game again. I would Highly recommend getting it on PS+

It’s got one of thr worst stories ever. Trust me, remedy even knows it’s awful. It makes no sense, and it’s so poorly written. The game gets very repetitive enemies-wise, and it’s unforgivingly hard. With all that being said, the controls are super tight and thr action is fun. The haptic feedback is amazing and the shooting is solid like returnal. The levitating is also so well done. Simply put, the gameplay is very good. The graphics are decent but nothing special. A couple of the puzzles are Also very random and not intuitive at all. It’s a good game, but I don’t see it being this award winning game the critics raved about Expand
