AI Limit is, at best, an okay Soulslike experience. The combat provides some enjoyable moments, especially when experimenting with different weapons, but the game is ultimately held back by its uninspired world and weak main story. If you’re a die-hard fan of the genre and are willing to overlook its shortcomings, you might find something to enjoy here. But for most players, AI Limit fails to stand out in a sea of better, and now cheaper alternatives.

Panic Porcupine is a tough and cruel precision platform title. With brutal traps and plenty of collectables, this is a hardcore experience. Collect the eggs and save the Chickabirbs as you try to defeat Dr Proventriculus.

High on Life is one of those games that punches hard with style and character. Once you’ve started playing, you won’t be able to stop. Perhaps some people may find the humor a little much at times, but I had a blast.

Maybe TRON diehards will get more out of Identity than I did. But to me, TRON Identity feels a lot like most TRON media: stale and running out of ideas.

Jurassic World Aftermath offers a thrilling, albeit brief, VR experience. The immersive atmosphere, tense stealth gameplay, and environmental storytelling will keep you on the edge of your seat. However, the repetitive nature of the core gameplay and the lack of combat options might limit its appeal for players seeking a more varied VR adventure.

Alone in the Dark builds its atmosphere competently but continually fails to pay it off. Okay puzzles and world design are drowned by flawed combat and dull writing.

Winters' Expansion is a great addition to the base game. With an interesting but short story option and the phenomenal arcade Mercenaries mode, there is something for everyone. Sadly, though, the third-person viewpoint created issues, and the atmosphere was impacted as a consequence. However, it is still a great purchase and is worthy of your money and time.

Guayota blends together some excellent puzzle mechanics, a nice setting and a lovely Lovecraftian story. Unfortunately, the final ingredient is a series of irritating traps, which hurts the otherwise stellar gameplay.

The result of all this is a singularly confusing experience. There are moments when Death in the Nile does shine, even in its new bits. It makes a mystery out of glass being added to a caviar verrine, for example, and it requires actual detective gameplay. But then it goes through a lengthy section where we stumble aimlessly across the rooftops of Cairo, looking for one interactable door. It’s bits like these that make Death in the Nile feel bloated. A classic Poirot tale that keeps getting interrupted by a considerably less interesting one.

I must say that RogueBook is one of those strategic action-packed games, with an adventurous journey and plenty of detailed graphics and entertaining scenes when moves are being made that I just love.

Swordship is a fun arcade experience with a rogue-lite twist. Furthermore, the fast-paced action and challenging experience will keep you busy for hours. However, the repetitive and brutal gameplay can sadly become frustrating.

Jumanji: Wild Adventures is a child-friendly title that utilises some classic mechanics. However, it is a little tedious for older gamers. Consequently, don't expect too much depth. As such, my kids adored every straightforward moment.

If you’re a fan of Visual Novels, then Still Joking is a must-play. It offers an intriguing mix of narrative depth, point-and-click mechanics, and puzzle-solving elements that keep you engaged from start to finish. While the gameplay might not appeal to those looking for more traditional or action-oriented experiences, the story’s complexity and the numerous choices available make it a standout in its genre. If you’re up for a surprising and engaging experience, give Still Joking a try.

Toads of the Bayou is visually charming and, thankfully, it has the gameplay chops to back it up. There might be a few quirks that need ironing out, but it's a gameplay loop that's equal parts simple and thoughtful.

Shredders is a beautiful snowboarding simulation title. Take to the mountain, wow the crowd, and get an invite to the kick-ass event. Fantastic solo, but better with friends! Pull off some gnarly tricks and be one with the snowy wilderness.

Elex II attempts to create a vast and beautiful game that juxtaposes the horrendous nature of the plot. Sadly, its delivery of key mechanics slows the action to a crawl. Furthermore, the terrible controls and archaic combat lack fluidity while stalling your progress. It should have been excellent, but it falls well short of its goals.

Serious Sam: Tormental is a great take of the rogue-like twin-stick-shooter genre. The theme of Serious Sam fits perfectly with this gameplay type. The dialogue is funny and the game is very addictive to play. If you played rogue-likes like Enter The Gungeon before, I believe you will love Serious Sam: Tormental.

Summertime Madness is a wonderful surreal puzzle adventure title. You must solve many problems as you venture through a selection of bizarre and beautiful paintings. Flip switches, stop cogs, explore never-ending stairs, and more. Will you escape before the time runs out and the Devil traps you?

All in all, Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord is a solid TRPG with some peaks and troughs to its gameplay. I do feel as though those who have played the original title will get more out of this, so if Fairy Fencer sounds like your bag, I’d probably investigate the remaster; Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force before trying out Refrain Chord.

Mia and the Dragon Princess is an excellent FMV title. Despite its minor issues, I loved this captivating and often witty endeavour. Its short playtime mitigates tedium and the colourful characters and fun acting will make you chuckle throughout. If you love the genre, then you must give this a go!

The Cruel King and the Great Hero‘s storybook narrative and great designs are a classic that arguably never should have left the page. With too many shallow gameplay and world elements, it’s hard to feel invested in anything but the main story cutscenes, but that said, as the game is aimed at a far younger age group, if you are in the market for an RPG for kids, you could do far worse.

VED feels like an intriguing D&D campaign, with our choices actually mattering. While the gameplay is a little on the thin side, the interesting plot and characters make up for it, and the story diversions kept me coming back.

Forever Skies stands as a bold and elegant entry into the survival genre. It doesn’t try to compete with the fast-paced chaos of PvP survival or the crowded silly co-op experiences of similar titles. Instead, it offers something quieter, deeper, and more reflective: a solitary journey through beauty and ruin, driven by discovery and sustained by curiosity. It’s a game that trusts you to take it slow, to get lost, and to find meaning in the silence. For those who love exploration, customizable bases, and stories told through the environment rather than exposition, this is a game that deserves your time. Even if the skies make your knees weak.

As a whole, Gal*Gun Double Peace is certainly fun. It is easy to pick up and definitely engaging in terms of gameplay. Even the simple story and sour outcomes will leave you wanting to try again. Be prepared to feel a little frustrated from time to time though, because the repetitive nature of this title will be the thing stopping you from a handful of attempts in one sitting.

For me personally, the lack of technical issues elevated the experience from “worth checking out” to genuinely engrossing. While others may remember their time with Echoes of the End as marred by stutter and frustration, I’ll remember mine as a seamless journey through a beautifully crafted world, one that managed to capture both my eyes and my emotions without ever breaking immersion. So here’s my verdict: if you’re fortunate enough to avoid the technical troubles that others report, you’re in for a rewarding adventure. Echoes of the End may not redefine the genre, but in the right conditions, it proves that sometimes a game doesn’t need to be perfect to leave a lasting impact.

Tour de France 2024 is a competent and enjoyable cycling simulation that caters well to its target audience. However, its failure to innovate and distinguish itself from last year’s edition limits its appeal. While it offers everything fans of the genre would expect, it doesn’t push any boundaries or introduce significant new features. For cycling aficionados, it’s a solid choice, but for still, it might feel like a ride they’ve taken one too many times.

A Pizza Delivery was a short narrative game which made up for that with its intriguing characters, appealing artwork, and landscapes. However, due to its short length and story which I felt could have been explored more in-depth I don't think the £12 price tag is justifiable, so you're better off picking this game up on sale. If you want a short yet touching experience then look no further.

For fans of the original film, this game is a true love letter to the original through wonderful sound and character design. Brilliant and innovative additions to the asymmetrical multiplayer genre and strong and unique map design help make this game stand alone in a plethora of available titles. Whilst the game can be frustrating at times due to balancing issues, its overall package is strong enough to overcome this. A relic of the past with a fresh twist. Send in the Klowns!

Star Overdrive is a game that’s ultimately too ambitious for its own good, collapsing under the weight of its ideas. It feels like there’s a talented team at Caracal Games, but the desire to capitalize on popular design trends was prioritized above forming complementary gameplay systems. The result is a project that never seems to mesh, creating a flawed, though functional, sci-fi experience.

Hammerwatch 2 is a fun little adventure that has a ton of potential but has a lot of minor issues that may be off putting for some. For those looking for a simple way to pass the time with some friends, this is definetly worth checking out but I hope you have someone ready to keep track of where you need to be going or else you will be pulling up the quest menu every other second. Combat is fun but the scenery can make it hectic to keep track of everything. Overall, Hammerwatch 2 does a wonderful job of being a mediocre adventure with promise.

Smurf Kart is a perfect family-style game that anyone can play. It’s amusing and easy, just what I expect from the Smurfs. The karts are all unique and have their own character that rides them, allowing the player a choice between 12 to decide upon. There is no wait to unlock a character, you get to enjoy all of them right away, which I love. Plus, even for an easy game, it could use some more classic Smurf sound effects from the characters and add a few new fun tracks or rewards to be achieved. Otherwise, it’s not a bad game, and maybe a bit easy for everyone to win a race for the first time.

AEW: Fight Forever is a sports simulation title that will appease a massive fan base. This excellent wrestling game has a deep career with excellent customisation options. Moreover, it can be enjoyed casually off and online.

Saints Row is a franchise that has its best days behind it. Consequently, the latest iteration is dull, dated, and lacking oomph. The open world is great, as are the side hustles. However, this doesn't make up for its many shortcomings. Fans of the franchise may overlook the tedium, but I could not.

It is important to remember that Best Month Ever is a student project. Therefore it shouldn’t be put in the same bag as a product of an experienced studio. Either way, I feel many of the game’s faults came from inadequate writing. It wants to say a lot but by the end it doesn’t much at all. If all the logical and realistic inconsistencies can be ignored. The game’s overall story isn’t that bad. Even thought they have failed to explore most of the themes, there are still some heartwarming moments.

Noreya: The Gold Project is a 2D pixel-art metroidvania game set in a dark fantasy universe, offering players the choice between allegiance to the Gods of Light and Shadow or the gods of Corruption and Gold. Decisions made in the game affect progression by changing the available paths and abilities.

Ninja or die is an interesting game that takes its simplicity and runs with it. For those looking for something quick and easy to pick up, this is definitely a title worth putting on the list.

Phantom Fury is a delightfully old-school FPS with a modern edge. This challenging title will test your resolve and your puzzle-solving abilities. Moreover, it demands that you explore every nook and cranny. If you want a retro game that will test your skills, then this one must be played.

It’s something that really captured my attention, on a daily basis. It has such an appealing allure and such a great story to playthrough. I honestly loved the art, the combat, and the huge bosses, literally huge! It’s just one of those games that really will leave a lasting impression and provide nothing but joy.

Syberia isn’t going to be for everyone, and it likely won’t be for you. Point-and-click games aren’t very relevant these days for a reason, and it’s largely because the industry has moved towards more player-friendly experiences. This remaster is a great opportunity to experience a bit of the past, but I doubt it will have many people reminiscing about the way things used to be.

I want to end by telling you that this game is one that probably took no time to create and is a waste of time to even play! It disturbing from the start! Even if you get past the text, it’s so horrible and boring.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is a wonderful RPG. A spiritual successor to Suikoden, that will capture your imagination immediately. I loved the plot, the characters, and the modern aesthetics. Sadly, it isn't as original as Suikoden, but it is still worthy of your time.

Although I found it partially enjoyable, No Place for Bravery ultimately didn’t do itself justice. Its narrative structure is more than a bit messy, and it often comes across as clichéd. The gameplay, while having a fair amount of customisation options, suffers from sloppy combat functionality. If nothing else, the visual and audio departments prop up the game to a slightly above average Souls-like. I really hope that Glitch Factory takes the criticism on board, and uses it to give No Place for Bravery the quality of life update it deserves. But, as of right now, I can only offer a light recommendation.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr Ultimate Edition doesn't fulfil its potential. With clunky controls, frustrating gameplay, and a lack of depth, it should have been much better. Sadly, I'm not sure that even the Warhammer fanboys/girls will forgive this mess of a title.

Pro Cycling Manager 2024 is an in-depth sports management title. The new features will impress fans of the franchise. However, some elements have been watered down and this will disappoint. Yet, the rounded gameplay and challenging races will get your heart racing. Accordingly, I enjoyed my time with this cycling experience.

Brokenlore: UNFOLLOW highlights the negativity of social media. Moreover, it has some horribly creepy moments as you search for clues and overcome an array of problems. Although it is short, it is great to play.

Trinity Trigger will certainly endear itself to fans of 90s JRPGs with its aesthetic and world-building for sure but do bear in mind that emulating the 90s isn’t always a good thing in video-game land.

The Casting of Frank Stone is a dark and twisted horror title that will thrill you. The graphics are fantastic and the audio is chilling. Furthermore, the protagonists add a layer of spice to this brilliant cinematic twist. If you like the freedom to explore, this game may annoy you. The cinematic and linear-focused areas keep you on track. However, the branching storylines and plot twists expand the action repeatedly.

This game is not terrible, however, it is not fantastic. This genre has to have a strong story to be remembered due to the lack of action, thrills, and spills. Martha is Dead just lacks that spark to make it great. The ending of the game is fairly predictable, and it was not the most enjoyable journey to get there. Unfortunately, it falls short of its peers but is still worthy of your time.

Starship Troopers: Extermination left me wanting. Though it is a fun multiplayer experience, it is flawed. There isn't enough polish and the single-player campaign is laughable. Furthermore, the Galactic Front element felt like an afterthought. It is a shame as the gameplay can be hectic, challenging, and rewarding. If the developers polish things up, then maybe this can reach its potential.

This game is quite amusing and entertaining. It’s full of beautiful scenes, nifty-looking characters that I’ve not seen in any other game, and a few minor issues, but everything is well-designed. I mean it’s practically perfect from start to finish and everything in between. The world is gorgeous and the characters fit the story quite well. Each with their own personal spicy attitude and mannerisms.

Industria blends dated architecture with cold and mysterious futuristic structures. Its gameplay doesn't break the mould but it is well thought out and enjoyable throughout. Fans of FPS and adventure titles will feel right at home playing this unusual game.

Pac-Man Museum + is a Game Pass title that comprises 14 classic Pac-Man games. The developers have tried to bring this much-loved franchise back to life. However, they have only succeeded in creating a padded-out and tired experience.

Gunslingers and Zombies is such a simple game to enjoy. It’s filled with a few weapons, plenty of planning, and a bunch of zombies to demolish. The game does require a little planning to survive each level and move forward. The challenging part occurs as you move on and go through different waves or goals needed to be done. However, it is still a very easy game to pick up and play, perfect for beginner strategy gamers. So if you are up to saving the town and love strategy games, then get ready to shoot down and stab every last zombie in the west.

AWAKEN- Astral Blade is truly a mixed bag across the board. Engaging combat and beautiful environments and design are real high points in this streamlined version of the MetroidVania genre. However, a forgettable and boring story which fails to build upon the promise of an intriguing protagonist, poor enemy design and a middling musical score stop this game from reaching its potential and make the game seem a cheap imitation.

Gambonanza attempts to merge chess and roguelike, and the end result is a mixed bag. A bright spark for the first few runs, but relentless repetition causes it to fizzle out in the end.

I really wanted to love Gotham Knights, and mostly, I did. However, I can’t ignore its repetitive gameplay, awful vehicular control, and the inevitable complaints about the frame rate. Yet, this DC title is enjoyable. The combat is smooth and captivating; the villains are great, and the story flows nicely. What’s more, two-player cooperative action is the icing on the cake. Yes, it could be better, but hardcore fans won’t care.

MACROSS Shooting Insight is a game I wanted to love but too many things just got in the way. A story left by the wayside, chaotic visuals and gameplay decisions lead to frustrating moments. Luckily, it’s not all bad, due to superb sound design and visuals that hold up for the most part. This, coupled with a truly unique ever changing gameplay style, means there is enough for some veterans of the franchise to love. A truly mixed bag.

Painkiller isn’t bad but it isn’t good either. It is another co-op shooter that has little content in it and doesn’t stand out from the other competition. Boss fights are fine, and the gunplay is decent. Unfortunately, they get old fast and the game just isn’t fun to put hours upon hours into. Honestly, just play Warhammer: Darktide or DOOM. They are more fun and worth your time.

If you’re a fan of JRPGs and are looking for a small time-sink whilst waiting for some of this Autumn’s more blockbuster releases then Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten will certainly pass the time, but there’s a chance that there’s something out there in the same space doing something more interesting.

Aquarist is a niche simulation title. Setting up each fish tank and creating the perfect exhibition can be relaxing. However, the repetitive nature of the gameplay and the underwhelming aesthetics let it down.

Despite the name, Lifeless Moon has a lot of atmosphere. Its magnificient desolation gives way to colourful environments and an interesting story. Unfortunately, the gameplay has been pushed to the background with unchallenging platforming and puzzles that never quite explore their own mechanics.

If you love the weird and wonderful world of Atomfall, Wicked Isle is more of what the base game delivered, with new intriguing quests and a fantastic new location. Sadly though, this expansion plays it safe and doesn’t add enough to truly make it stand out alongside the wonderful original title. A lack of new additions, reused enemies and some terrible quest design bog the expansion down. There’s still the British charm, but I wanted more.

Forspoken is an urban-come-high-fantasy open-world, action-adventure game played in the third person. Combining magic and parkour, you take on the role of Frey as she learns to understand her new abilities in a strange world that needs saving from disaster.

Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires is a fantastic hack n slash tactical game. You must spin many plates as you try to conquer each kingdom. Balance your people, food, captains, and battles as you progress across the empire. It's tough, addictive, and brutal as hell.

Overall, My time spent with Eugène on his journey was one that I found mostly enjoyable, even if I did find myself frustrated with a good portion of the adventure. I would spend countless minutes re-reading dialogue and documents in an attempt to find something that might have been missed and often would end up scratching my head at some of the solutions. While this might not be as strong as something like the Professor Layton series, I definitely would love to see something like this again from this team.

In deciding that ambition is the dragon that needs toppling, Shadow Warrior 3 is aggressively average, restricting its own potential with poor level design and underwhelming weapons and enemies. Quite how it manages to fluff its lines, despite having all the ingredients for success – humour, great visuals and Doom-lite gunplay – is frustrating, but if you are able to look past this, it does still provide an opportunity for you to switch off with some mindless entertainment in short spurts.

Overall, I’d say Lawn Mowing Simulator is a serviceable simulation of what it is like to mow lawns. While this is not my kind of game, I can see why others would value it and become addicted to it with its wealth of game modes. However, the menus are clunky, DLC is offered as soon as you start the game, and the graphics are poor, despite doing their job. Any game’s value comes down to its gameplay elements and unlike the great titles out there, the core gameplay elements of Lawn Mowing Simulator are not satisfying, or addictive enough to make this game worth my time. As far as simulation games go, Lawn Mowing Simulator is an average title and should be avoided unless you are passionate about mowing lawns.

This game is quite a nice idea, but it could require a bit more work. I liked the concept, and love the color graphics and cuteness factor, but the few issues that came up so often are hard to pass and forget about. I think I was half the time frustrated and getting a headache from how much I was going around in circles to select and try to do anything I could in the game. Unless a few things get fixed, this game may not be on my radar anytime soon.

Honestly I can say this game has some good. Like the fact, if you walk through a room once, the next time you click on the door, it will just take you to the other side instead of having to walk over. Also you can open a map and teleport to any location that you have previously been to and characters don’t repeat the same lines every time you meet them. These are some really nice features, such a pity they find themselves in a game like this one.

Kudzu is a non-linear adventure game for the Game Boy, inspired by old-school Zelda and "Metroidvania" titles. Play as apprentice gardener Max and find Master Zoen, who has mysteriously gone missing in the Kudzu Fields.

I really enjoyed my time with Bred and Fred, but the single player mode really makes it a more frustrating experience than it needs to be. This is a title that I can highly recommend if you have someone who wouldn’t mind sitting down and putting a couple of hours into it with you. Otherwise, I highly recommend that you prepare yourself for a frustrating time as you throw a rock around in efforts to achieve the same results as someone else who has a competent partner with them.

Call of the Wild: The Angler is a realistic fishing simulation title. With an expansive and stunning world to explore, you can lose yourself for hours. Fish, help others, or simply relax, the choice is yours.

It’s a flawed game that doesn’t always stick the landing. Yet still, there’s something endearing about the experience. Ellen’s core journey may be to find her grandpa. But as things progress the cleaning and healing of the world around her really becomes the star. It’s simple, but quite effective.

It’s a walking simulator with no soul, a puzzle game with no challenge. If you want to spend hours wandering an empty island trying to piece together a story that honestly should have been a movie or a short film, then sure, The End of the Sun might scratch that itch. But for me, this is a hard pass.

Overall, Goosebumps Terror in Little Creek was pretty lackluster. Looking at the devs and publishers of the game, it kind of checks out that this game turned out this way. The developers PHL Collective and the publisher GameMill Entertainment are known for putting out low quality licensed kids games. Not to mention the pricing for Goosebumps, in my opinion, is not worth $40 USD for how short and barebones the experience was. On top of that, the game also has a $15 USD DLC pack that seems to only provide cosmetics, a 3D model viewer, and a concept art viewer. I can only recommend getting this game on a heavily discounted sale if you’re interested. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend this game, even if you wanted to buy it for your kids.

In short, its attempt to be a party game is poorly executed as it sneers at the things that make party games fun: quick games, easy to understand, no cumbersome mechanics, a well-known cast, and creative worlds. Instead, Dokapon Kingdom Connect misses the mark in my opinion on pretty much all of these, too caught up in its attempt to be an RPG.

Overall, Chocobo GP has a lot to offer for an alternative to such kart-based staples like Mario Kart. It’s vibrant, offers a good experience with slight variations on the genre’s norms. What lets it down, however, is the price point and reliance on microtransactions/season passes to experience the full game. If you’re a die-hard Final Fantasy fan then I recommend it, for everyone else there’s Mario Kart.

King of the Arcade is a fun 80s-inspired romp. With colourful characters, interesting games, and an underdog story, this will make you laugh throughout. I adored the unique take on classic arcade titles and the short but sweet plot. My only complaint is that it isn't long enough. Consequently, I hope the developers add more content.

The DioField Chronicle is a Fantasy tactical rpg where the gamer controls a group of mercenaries called Blue Fox. The combination between the real-time battle system with the traditonal tactical settings gave the game a new and distinctive experience from both other SE rpgs and tactical rpgs.

Once Alive is a fantastic solo dev title that shouldn't be missed. The action is captivating and I loved the story. Moreover, it looks great. Yes, there are some minor graphical issues, but this didn't ruin my experience.

Ultimately these games come from an era that will always be overlooked before the likes of Nintendo and Sega came along and catapulted gaming along the path where it has got to today, and that is commendable. It is a backhanded compliment to the era that these games are so out of date.

If you come to Bloodlines 2 purely for a moody, well-acted vampire story and some clever investigative beats, it’s worth the time. If you come for the old-school, systems-forward roleplaying that made the original a cult classic, you’ll have to make do with the first game. The mechanical scope has been narrowed, and the promise of freedom is more about moment-to-moment play than the long arc of building your unique vampire. In short, it’s a respectable vampire game with sharp writing and a few memorable moments, but it shouldn’t be wearing the “Bloodlines” badge.

Boti: Byteland Overclocked is an adorable adventure for anyone looking to play through it alone or with a friend.

Wildcat Gun Machine is a brutal and hard-hitting bullet-hell adventure. You must scour dungeons searching for keys and killing your foes. Make your life easier by upgrading your hero and finding new weapons. It is tough, looks fantastic, but is also confusing as hell.

If all you’re after is a fairly mindless little tactical card battler/rougelike then this does the job, but there are other games in this genre that do it better, and if you come here looking for classic Three Kingdoms stories, there are others that do that better too. Also I’ve no idea why it doesn’t pluralise Kingdom in the game’s title. Drove me insane.

The Inquisitor is a dark and grim adventure title. Moreover, it seamlessly blends 2 unique realms. As such, it is an enjoyable investigatory game that combines puzzles, exploration, and combat. Yet, the latter of those elements is its Achilles Heel.

Autopsy Simulator is a grim experience. This simulation title lets you run wild in a morgue. Furthermore, there is an uncomfortable horror edge that keeps you on your toes. However, too much hand-holding and not enough freedom prevent it from truly excelling. If the upcoming "autopsy-only" mode allows more freedom, then this will excel.

Kaku: Ancient Seal is clearly aimed at kid gamers, perhaps those looking for a Zelda-like experience on their console of choice. I imagine that younger audiences will be very satisfied with Bingobell’s work, and older players may also find themselves hooked on the game’s various modes of progression or inviting visual design. Be prepared for some nagging performance problems, though if those don’t bother you, this is a great adventure to jump into.

I give it a 6/10 Not horrible, not amazing, dead straight in the middle. It seems like a good starting point; with plenty of opportunities to improve either their formula in this game or future ones.

However, if tight balance and gentler difficulty progression are your preferences, you may want to wait for post-launch patches or improvements. Shuffle Tactics has the spark of something special it may just need a few refinements to truly shine.

Things move extremely slow and while we have the ability to bump things up to three times the normal speed, there was nothing that really encouraged me to take those next steps. Homeseek is fun when you are locked into the gameplay loops but the moment you hit that first bump in the road in regards to waiting on something, the flaws start to come out. This is a major make or break moment for those who are on the fence here and nothing is really done to persuade you into continuing the game.

If you’re a fan of action RPGs with a taste for mystery and don’t mind a bit of roughness around the edges, Empyreal might just be worth exploring. But for players expecting a polished, emotionally resonant journey with rogue-lite and looter mechanics, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Firewall: ultra is not an exceptional game like the first version and the most important game of the platform it was released on. But it’s definitely entertaining and fun (especially with friends) and you can spend a lot of time in it.
