Jun 12, 2024Tour de France 2024 is a fun cycling experience that is hard to master. It takes patience to prepare well for a race and decide when it’s the right time to force the pace or attack. Sure, players can pick real-world teams featuring the best riders if they want to dominate competitions. But I had much more fun as the underdog, exploiting opportunities and celebrating third places. For anyone who’s not already interested in cycling, the game will take some time to learn. Play the tutorials and then ride Le Tour with a smaller team, aiming only to fully understand the mechanics and get a feel for how races develop. Tour de France 2024 walks the fine line between realism and fun and manages to create a cycling sim that feels true to the sport.

Jun 12, 2024Tour de France 2024 is a competent and enjoyable cycling simulation that caters well to its target audience. However, its failure to innovate and distinguish itself from last year’s edition limits its appeal. While it offers everything fans of the genre would expect, it doesn’t push any boundaries or introduce significant new features. For cycling aficionados, it’s a solid choice, but for still, it might feel like a ride they’ve taken one too many times.

Jul 9, 2024The gameplay of Tour de France 2024 is engaging, especially for road cycling fans. However, it's almost identical to its predecessor and technically outdated in graphics, animations, and basic physics, with issues like invisible walls. Various glitches, including game freezes, also detract from the experience. Due to these issues, it's hard to recommend the game to anyone other than hardcore cycling enthusiasts.

Jun 12, 2024Energy management decisions continue to sustain Tour de France 2023’s chase for the yellow jersey. But the game’s unsophisticated physics modeling and middling aesthetics don't help the sense of simulation. This season, there are actual athletes in Team mode and basic online multiplayer racers. But it's clear that Cyanide is coasting.
