Saints Row is set in Santo Ileso, a vibrant fictional city in the American Southwest and one of the most varied and diverse city locations ever built for a Saints Row game. Three friends join you on your incredible journey to become self made. Neenah, the driver and mechanic with Los Panteros, Kevin who is a DJ and a member of The Idols, and Eli who came to Santo Ileso to make his fortune as an entrepreneur. You play as The Boss and get to decide who you want to be, while building your very own criminal empire. Along the way you must take on three brutal enemy factions who currently control Santo Ileso: Los Panteros are the muscle and the power, The Idols are motivated by fame and notoriety, and Marshall Defense Technologies are a private military conglomerate. Players will be able to enjoy seamless and untethered two-player co-op together, whether they’re playing on the PS4 or PS5. In terms of PS5 specifics, we’re implementing features for next-generation consoles and can’t wait to divulge details closer to the launch of the game. Expand

It may not push your new hardware to the limit and is a little rough around the edges, but the latest Saints Row is everything it needs to be, delivering a wonderful comedic experience with plenty of depth. While a little irritating, I was never bored and wanted to see where my team’s goofy antics would take them next. The payoffs are often worth the time investment, and just veering off the beaten path pays dividends. I’m glad the Saints are back, hopefully for another long haul.

However, the bugs should certainly not remain unnamed and it stands in the way of an even higher final score. Saints Row really does a lot of good and Volition successfully uses the reboot to bring the best of Saints Row to the fore, namely building your own crime organization. The result is a game that is perhaps even closer to classics such as Vice City and San Andreas in terms of ambiance and structure than its successors, but in terms of finish it just doesn't come close to those games. Saints Row will also not go down in the history books as a classic, but there is no doubt that there is a lot of fun to be had with the game.

A fantastic addition to the Saints Row catalogue, though it’s marred by a bunch of glitches and bugs that keep it just shy of excellence.

Saints Row is fun, enjoyable experience to play, but in therms of innovation, Volition should have gone further, bringing new things to the Saints Row franchise. Even with that in mind, the game is a must-have for those fans who have been waiting to play another Saints Row game.

As a new start for the eponymous gang, Saints Row ticks most of the boxes, but falls short in offering up anything fresh. A litany of technical and visual bugs also conspire to spoil the party, making for a solid enough, enjoyable, but ultimately uninspired, return for the series.

While there are definitely elements of Saints Row that really annoyed me, I still generally had a good time with the game. It is great to have a game that is a complete package on launch with no microtransactions or exploitative monetization. If you consider yourself a Saints Row fan you’ll probably find plenty to enjoy in the newest entry, even if some of its elements are weaker than others.

Saints Row finds a better tone than its predecessor, but otherwise doesn’t deliver as a reboot, with gameplay and mission structures inferior to past instalments. With the right expectations, there’s still fun to be had, but the endless bugs, glitches and just awful AI make it hard to recommend at launch.

On the Xbox store it's at 4 out of 5 with 750 people rating it.
Sure helps when you can't rate it without owning it.

I did not find it repetitive at all. The only downside is that the game crashes a lot, but hopefully this will be fixed in a patch. Just play the game yourself before you judge it so harshly. Expand

This game could have been so much more but it's still fun and I'm enjoying it.

Bad: gameplay and activities are outdated, game is a little too glitchey and janky, and the core mechanics (driving, shooting, platforming( are a ll a little too one dimensional.

That said, this is still and interesting open world with lots to do, so I've enjoyed sinking a week into it.

This is MILES from a GTA level game - in fact I'd say this stacks up against San Andreas or maybe GTA 4 at a push but GTA 5 is in every way a much better game.

Still, GTA 6 is... where? So this game satisfies that itch yo me.

I will admit there are some fun parts inThis game is bad, like really bad, maybe not the worst game ever, but honestly it's not that far off. I will admit there are some fun parts in this game and the graphics are pretty decent, but the fun wears off quickly and you're left with a boring and repetitive game. Instead of a brand new game, it feels like some sort of SR3 DLC or what SR4 should’ve been instead of that president, alien and superhero abomination that was put out. If this was released in 2013 It maybe would’ve been exciting, but in 2022 it's a mediocre game with mediocre voice acting, cringe dialog, mediocre characters, boring and repetitive combat, a plethora of bugs (many game breaking ones) and the same animations and engine Volition has been using for over 10 years. It's also been very clear since the reveal trailer that this game is made for younger kids of this generation, it's obvious Volition and Deep Silver don't care about old SR fans. They would rather pander to kids who have never played a Saints Row game in their life than the actual long time fans. Volition had a great opportunity here to capitalize on the open world, third person shooter market with the absence of Rockstar over the past 9 years, but they would rather dumb down their games so that 13 year olds who enjoy Fortnite can hop on this game and have fun. We told them from the start, "this is not what we want" "this looks terrible" "bring back the old saints" and all they could do is call us haters, well as it turns out the fans and consumers of the product were right yet again. I hope that Volition & Deep Silver will one day realize that they messed up bad with this game and the 3 before it just because they outright refuse to listen to their fans. I would like to see them publicly apologize for this poor excuse of a "Saints Row" game, but that will never happen, they will never admit that they were wrong, even if this was the final nail in the coffin for their already downward spiraling company. This is not Saints Row it only has the name because they knew it would sell decent numbers and make them some money. If you are a true fan of Saints Row, save your money. Do not buy this game. Expand
