Firewall Ultra is the next evolution in the Firewall franchise.

Set 5 years after the original game, the contractors and locations you've grown to love have evolved and moved into the next generation. Since PS VR2 offers a much higher level of visual fidelity with 4K HDR, we've completely remade all character models. The maps have also seen a complete overhaul, with new areas and new textures. There will also be new locations and contractors, but it wouldn't be a Firewall game without the weaponry and equipment, which also feature a much deeper level of customization.

On top of all that, Firewall Ultra utilizes new PlayStation VR2 Sense Technology features like eye tracking, which enables you to intuitively swap weapons and bring up HUD indicators through cameras built into the PS VR2 headset.

Is it the system-seller that PS VR2 fans were hoping for? Not exactly, but there is plenty to like about Firewall Ultra. It’s an extremely comfortable VR shooter with fun tactical gameplay that uses the headset’s features in an interesting way, though it does take some getting used to. Sluggish progression and minor bugs need to be addressed, but First Contact Entertainment has been updating the game rapidly since launch.

Firewall Ultra have some noticeable issues concerning players' progression and matchmaking but, with the proper support from its developers, it has the potential to become an excellent multiplayer FPS for PSVR.

Firewall: ultra is not an exceptional game like the first version and the most important game of the platform it was released on. But it’s definitely entertaining and fun (especially with friends) and you can spend a lot of time in it.

Even if Firewall Ultra has some great ideas and makes good use of the PSVR2 hardware, the simplified gameplay prevents a greater immersion.

Could be one of PSVR2s best shooters, but is held back by some baffling design decisions.

Firewall Ultra is a simple game, with few modes at launch and a very long matchmaking. Furthermore, the gameplay barely explores the capabilities of VR. With the promised support, Firewall Ultra may be better in the future, but it's difficult to recommend it at the moment.

We had high hopes for Firewall Ultra, but it ended up being a deception. Playing together can still be fun and graphically it looks neat as well, but the rest of the game actually disappoints. The gameplay does not feel right, the menus are a disaster to navigate, the special VR2 features are not used, the sound is inconsistent, and so on. Alas, Firewall Ultra is not what it should have been.

First Contact has hit it out of the park this time with Ultra. The new dedicated servers make finding a match really easy and fun. The weaponFirst Contact has hit it out of the park this time with Ultra. The new dedicated servers make finding a match really easy and fun. The weapon reloads and cool knife animations are really well done. It is basically the counterstrike of VR. The accuracy is a high point of the game as it feels where i point and shoot is where it actually goes. This is by far my favorite VR team based shooter. I hate games with unnecessary story and this just gets to the action! Expand

For example, one is called Frank, who's origin story is working in his father's Italian eatery, but then becoming a desperate Youtuber that setback Italian Americans decades by perpetuating played out "goombah" stereotypes. He then goes on to alienate himself from the larger VR community by spamming reddit with his mediocre guido vr content to the point where they had no choice but to ban him. This did not deter him though, he just created a bunch of alt accounts and continued spamming away.
Once you reach level 20 Frank then gets a job as community manager at FCE, but does not disclose his dicey past to his future employer. If you disclose this in the game then your rank is reset and you must go back to making pizzas again, very painful!

It gets even stranger at level 25 when Frank gets banned from an official FCE reddit AMA on his alt account. In order to reach level 30 you have to ban anybody who is critical of the host of problems that a typical FCE game has, from all FCE official social media outlets. You also need to harass anybody who is critical of you online.

Once you get above level 30 the progression system gets quite repetitive and you are mostly just leaving over 100 fake reviews on Metacritic to try and sell a broken game to people who will not be able to ever get a refund.

Once again, I am a little perplexed by the storyline and progression system of this game and can't say that I can recommend it to anyone.
