    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The gun mechanics are horrendous. They try to force you to use eye tracking to shoot which eliminates any need for skill or room to grow. On top of that, using eye tracking for util makes it almost useless due to the time required to attempt to throw it where intended. Maps look great, except for some being entirely too dark.… Expand

    Firewall Ultra is a disappointing effort from FCE on the back of arguably the best game of the PSVR1 generation, Firewall Zero Hour. The amazing immersion of the first game is lacking in the second game. It has great graphics as a PS5 game running on Unreal Engine 5 but it's lipstick on a pig.     Have been very patient and understanding, games do launch with issues. But the problems with Firewall Ultra go so far beyond just teething issues that I really wish I could get a refund. I had high hopes for this title, but it is a let down in almost every area. If you ignore the wonky character models then it does look quite pretty, i'll give it that.

    This game has 0 respect for your time or money. It's basically pay-to-win since the most useful and powerful upgrades are behind a paywall and it would take weeks to grind for them. What makes it more frustrating is that most of the things that you need to upgrade faster are either not working or have not been released. In complete game that should never have been released in this state.

    It's unbelievable how a company can put an unfinished product like this on the market, ignore the critics and the community and now ban all the people who dare to criticize the game on the official sites ( discord , fb, etc ) .

    This game is about as broken as it can be. 2 weeks after release still can't even join a game with your party without it crashing or booting you back to your own safe house. There are numerous bugs in this game that makes play difficult to near impossible. Knives don't work by swiping you have to hit the r2 button for it to count as a stab. Theres almost nothing that dont need fixed. I say almost cause atleast the flashlights turn off and on as they are supposed to when you hit the button for on or off. The list of issues with this game is so massive by the time it's fixed it will be ultra 2.0 cause they will of had to fix about all the code in the game. I gave it a 4.0 because the underlying game is good and if fixed properly this can easily be 1 of the best shooters out but honestly at this point it's so wrecked your better off waiting till they can fix all the problems this game has. It pains me to write a bad review of a series I truely love but right now im wishing I had kept my vr1 so I could go back and play zero hour till this game is fixed. Save your money , save yourself a headache and wait , only thing this game has done for me so far is make me decide to wait from here on out for player reviews and in game streams before I buy another one no more pre-orders for me.… Expand

    This game was released in bad shape. It is unfinished and buggy. All of the complaints that were voiced about the original game were carried over and compounded with new issues on the sequel. Too that off with terrible progression, broken matchmaking, weapon used wall hacks and pay to win and it’s a mess. Any reviews trying to make this game seem lanyable are deceptive. This is a broken game!

    This is the first next gen vr game that actually gets it! From the moment you begin playing you're immersed into the game. This is the best first person shooter vr game I've seen in a long time and hope everyone gets the chance to enjoy it!

    This game is exactly what people have come to expect with an FCE game, over promise and completely underdeliver. I supported the original Firewall game, which was not without its problems. Solaris was an absolute joke, and well, Firewall Ultra is no different. The game barely works and people should really be getting a refund.

Frequent crashes, connectivity issues, unbearable lag, and visual glitches are just some of the problems I encountered. It is evident that the game did not undergo adequate quality control before its release, which is unacceptable considering the price I paid for this experience.

    I attempted to contact customer support for assistance, but the responses were vague and unhelpful. I was promised that the issues would be addressed in a future update, but so far, I have not seen any significant improvement. It is disheartening to see how players are treated so casually after investing time and money into a defective product.

    In conclusion, I can only strongly discourage the purchase of this game. It is a frustrating and disappointing experience, with a completely unusable online multiplayer.     I bought the game and was somewhat disappointed because it doesn't have a campaign. The real issue, however, is the bugs. Now I couldn't even get into the game as it freeze on the initial screen. I don't recommend buying it.

    This game should not be clasified as a VR title with locomotion controllers. You cant do there basicaly anything withou pressing a button. You want to reload your weapon? Sure, press a button and watch a laggy animation. Do you wanna stab someone with a knife? Press a button to see the animation. Do you wanna throw grenade? Oh sure, just press the button and see animation of throwing. DoThis game should not be clasified as a VR title with locomotion controllers.     This game was a clear money grab. A lot of essential contractor skills and guns are behind a paywall and the progression system is virtually non-existent. The game barely functions and I would strongly advise anyone interested to stay far away from it for the time being.

    2 weeks post launch, matchmaking still broken, servers laggy, people are staying AFK for the whole day because the progression system is so bad and things are behind paywalls and too many other bugs to mention. For god sake, just give people their money back, this is beyond ridiculous!

    Mid game doesn’t make me wanna come back and play anytime as of writing this review, now if it receives updates and feels more polished and complete vs less demo like then I will update my review. But as of now I’m giving this game a solid 6 out of 10. Please Sony you guys have so much potential with the PSVR2 use it to the full extent, I love VR gaming but this isn’t it.

I was there for the Nightfall update that broke their original game and he acted in an extremely unprofessional manner back then, banning people who were critical from the FCE discord and harassing reddit mods from subs that were warning people of the issues that the game had , and guess what? He has been doing the exact same thing recently with the growing number of frustrated people who bought Firewall Ultra. To add insult to injury, he also clearly put up over 100 fake user reviews on here. I find this to be absolutely deplorable and I will never support another FCE venture.    … Expand

    I'm in disbelief that there isn't true manual reloading, you can't actually THROW grenades, and you can't physically press buttons/interact with the environment. I have no idea why these decisions were made--- don't waste your money.

    ORIGINAL REVIEW: Very broken game that has been released while it should have been in a early beta instead. A lot of potential, but so broken and riddled with bugs that it's frustrating to play right now and should not yet be picked up, especially not if you intend to play with a group of friends. A tactical shooter with a built-in wall-hack as a feature, hyper speed running, a button to disable recoil, and all of this is only applicable if you can get into a match at all, which often takes several hours.

    Developer has promised to fix some/most of this, hence my promise that i will update the rating as the game progresses. The developer (FCE) did a lot of patching on their previous games, so there is an expectation that it improves. Until then, points for fantastic graphics but otherwise utterly disappointing bag of bugs.    … Expand

    First Contact has hit it out of the park this time with Ultra. The new dedicated servers make finding a match really easy and fun. The weapon reloads and cool knife animations are really well done. It is basically the counterstrike of VR. The accuracy is a high point of the game as it feels where i point and shoot is where it actually goes. This is by far my favorite VR team based shooter.First Contact has hit it out of the park this time with Ultra. The new dedicated servers make finding a match really easy and fun.     The new gold standard for PSVR2 games. This was made from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5 and you can absolutely tell the benefits that brings. Visually it has no peers and the modes + gunplay are amazing. Great community too!

    Just a pure game with an excellent interface and gameplay. Highly recommend this to anyone looking to play VR FPS. Has almost like a halo 3 feel. Playing this made me miss what that was and thankfully this game brought it back for me. So happy to have come across this.

    Firewall: Ultra has exceeded all of my expectations. The eye tracking, the 4K resolution, and the gameplay is awesome. Any little flaws will be patched over in due time. 10/10

    I recently had more time to play and I am excited to see where future updates take this game so far the game play is very fun and tactical it feels like a fresh new take on the old Firewall! and it feels like a Rainbow Six in VR!

    They absolutely crushed it on this game. The most polished game I've ever played in VR. The graphics, gunplay and multi player is amazing. Eye tracking is also next level. I'm looking forward to manual reload which the devs said is coming in a later release.

    Firewall Ultra has raised the bar for VR FPS once again. The gameplay, graphics and eye tracking are unlike anything else in VR today. The game was built on Unreal 5 and is right on the cutting edge of what can be accomplished. An absolute must have for any VR enthusiast - -its the future of gaming.

    Absolutely loving Firewall: Ultra!! I’d say the game is very “VR Beginner” friendly, as it’s my first time really diving into VR after purchasing the PSVR2 and I’m having a seamless transition into playing the game/ using the headset and a very fun time immersing myself into the world!! Takes a while to progress in the game but I’ll be spending much more time playing it!! Super fun

This game is far from a ZERO. It’s really great and it’s clear the devs took a lot of time on this. Also love the new PSVR2 that I got!     Loving every bit of firewall ultra!! I bought the new psvr2 because I heard from my friend about this game being epic and we’ve both been grinding hard since the release. Convinced a couple more buddies to buy a bundle too because it’s so epic!! Not as fun playing by yourself so go get some friends to play with!!!

    This game is amazing. Eye tracking is incredible. All the new features make this game so much more immersive than anything else out there. I think the devs really listened to all the OG players and gave us what we wanted. Squad up!!

The weapons feel so great with the way the whole gun vibrates. You can really feel the resistance on the trigger. The game has a lot of cool touches, like how you look away or close your eyes to avoid flashbangs.

    This game is fantastic. Great mechanics and aesthetics; the developer(s) successfully created a unique style that fully immerses you into the game. This is what next-gen gameplay is supposed to be like! Great work 10/10.

    Firewall Ultra is a 10. The game's attention to detail is astounding, whether it's the meticulously crafted landscapes, intricate character designs, or the dynamic weather effects that make you feel like you're truly within the game. The gameplay mechanics seamlessly merge with the VR environment, creating a sense of presence and immersion. My squad is yet to lose a match in this game.

    I've had a decent amount of time lately to play this game and I am excited to see what the future plans for this game are. Gameplay is very entertaining and it feels like a lot of similar first person shooter games but in virtual reality!

    Been playing this with the homies and it’s way more fun than Fortnite or Warzone or anything else to play with the homies. We’re switching to VR full time because of FW Ultra.

    There has been lots of mixed messages about Firewall: Ultra. But the bottom line is that Most people complaining about the game are expecting the Devs to create a Black Mirror type combat simulation that’s just not possible yet and are pissed about (iT NoT BeInG FuLLy EmUrsive). This is a solid VR shooter with multiplayer combat fun. Pick it up and find out for yourselves.

    Graphics are insane for a VR game. It’s like you’re immersed in actual action scenarios. Gets my adrenal glands pumping HARD. It’s crazy how far this tech has come. Nice work first contact. The fact this just launched and it’s already this good is crazy. 10/10

    I am having so much with this game and I would of given it a 10 if the matchmaking was working properly. PvE is epic. PvP is epic with strangers. Just can’t play pvP with friends until the patch.

    I’ve played this game for two days straight. The eye tracking is awesome and the graphics are the best I’ve seen since RE8. I like the automatic reloads with the button instead of doing it manually. Definitely my favorite game on PlayStation VR

    The original Firewall game was really good... but this is another level. Eye tracking feature is cool, but the game play itself is full on intense. Excited to see the community grow!!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. For me this game gets a 10, ok there are issues which we all should be confident in that the First Contact team will sort over the comming weeks.
    Let's not dwell on the negatives as all games have them but focus on the direction the game is taking us! The playstyle has altered and we all need to adjust and give constructive feedback to the team ,after all the longevity of this game is paramount. For me I'm loving the detail , the light and dark areas add real immersion and all the little details in the maps that often get overlooked.
    I played with total random players last night and had game after game was very entertaining.
    So please I ask you before comming here to just moan about controls ,connection , and my favourite "oh it's too dark I can't see to rush"....let's get behind the team report any bugs and finish the game together.

    Despite some of the rough edges and bugs the actual gameplay is some of the best and most fun I have ever experienced in VR! If you want a super exact gun handling and door opening simulator it's not that but if you want a super fun tactical and strategic multiplayer shooter game in VR that keeps you wanting to play round after round then this game is THE ONE!

    Wow!!! The game was an absolute delight to engage with. Realism is next level as well as the gameplay and storyline kept me heavily involved and engaged the entire time. Clearly developers went all out on this one.

    I was very excited to play this game after I saw the trailers. The game exceeded my expectations with incredible graphics and eye tracking capability. This is undoubtedly my favorite VR game. Lots of fun playing PVP with my squad.

    I love Firewall. This is THE BEST GAME I have played in a long time. They really improved with the graphics and storyline. 10/10 highly recommend to everyone and anyone.

    Firewall: ultra is not an exceptional game like the first version and the most important game of the platform it was released on. But it’s definitely entertaining and fun (especially with friends) and you can spend a lot of time in it.

    An online team-based shooter that completely overlooks the potential of VR. Firewall Ultra provides a somewhat shallow experience, with matchmaking times often exceeding the actual gameplay, and meager rewards. Despite the relatively limited library of PS VR2, there are better titles available.
