    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The gun mechanics are horrendous. They try to force you to use eye tracking to shoot which eliminates any need for skill or room to grow. On top of that, using eye tracking for util makes it almost useless due to the time required to attempt to throw it where intended. Maps look great, except for some being entirely too dark.… Expand

    Firewall Ultra is a disappointing effort from FCE on the back of arguably the best game of the PSVR1 generation, Firewall Zero Hour. The amazing immersion of the first game is lacking in the second game. It has great graphics as a PS5 game running on Unreal Engine 5 but it's lipstick on a pig.     The game is early access it's ridden with bugs and unfinished systems comes with a 5$ wallhack dlc guns take hours upon hours to unlock and devs make fake reviews on this game with 10/10 this game is far from it this is probably the worst vr game if purchased and probably will ever purchase what a letdown. Weapons do not register when u press hold button or your hands get stuck.     Have been very patient and understanding, games do launch with issues. But the problems with Firewall Ultra go so far beyond just teething issues that I really wish I could get a refund. I had high hopes for this title, but it is a let down in almost every area. If you ignore the wonky character models then it does look quite pretty, i'll give it that.

    This game has 0 respect for your time or money. It's basically pay-to-win since the most useful and powerful upgrades are behind a paywall and it would take weeks to grind for them. What makes it more frustrating is that most of the things that you need to upgrade faster are either not working or have not been released. In complete game that should never have been released in this state.

    It's unbelievable how a company can put an unfinished product like this on the market, ignore the critics and the community and now ban all the people who dare to criticize the game on the official sites ( discord , fb, etc ) .
    Gave it a 1 because the maps are well made. Sign of times.

    This game is about as broken as it can be. 2 weeks after release still can't even join a game with your party without it crashing or booting you back to your own safe house. There are numerous bugs in this game that makes play difficult to near impossible. Knives don't work by swiping you have to hit the r2 button for it to count as a stab. Theres almost nothing that dont need fixed. I say almost cause atleast the flashlights turn off and on as they are supposed to when you hit the button for on or off. The list of issues with this game is so massive by the time it's fixed it will be ultra 2.0 cause they will of had to fix about all the code in the game. I gave it a 4.0 because the underlying game is good and if fixed properly this can easily be 1 of the best shooters out but honestly at this point it's so wrecked your better off waiting till they can fix all the problems this game has. It pains me to write a bad review of a series I truely love but right now im wishing I had kept my vr1 so I could go back and play zero hour till this game is fixed. Save your money , save yourself a headache and wait , only thing this game has done for me so far is make me decide to wait from here on out for player reviews and in game streams before I buy another one no more pre-orders for me.… Expand

    Horrible broken game from a studio that tries to cover this up by creating fake reviews on here, what a joke! Hey FCE, if you are going to make fake reviews, maybe do it more subtlety and don't make your VR title the number 1 game of all time on here.

    the only thing good about this game is it has a lingering smell of what firewall zero hour was. this game is in beta, has so many issues from matchmaking to shooting mechanincs, to progression...and we still have yet to unlocked most items in the game yet. with each new upgrade comes new problems. currently the meta in this game is shooting an AK47 with only one hand while your chasingthe only thing good about this game is it has a lingering smell of what firewall zero hour was. this game is in beta, has so many issues from matchmaking to shooting mechanincs, to progression...and we still have yet to unlocked most items in the game yet. with each new upgrade comes new problems. currently the meta in this game is shooting an AK47 with only one hand while your chasing around enemies outlined in red 50 feet away from you while you blind fire around a corner.     This game was released in bad shape. It is unfinished and buggy. All of the complaints that were voiced about the original game were carried over and compounded with new issues on the sequel. Too that off with terrible progression, broken matchmaking, weapon used wall hacks and pay to win and it’s a mess. Any reviews trying to make this game seem lanyable are deceptive. This is a broken game!

    This is the first next gen vr game that actually gets it! From the moment you begin playing you're immersed into the game. This is the best first person shooter vr game I've seen in a long time and hope everyone gets the chance to enjoy it!

    This game is exactly what people have come to expect with an FCE game, over promise and completely underdeliver. I supported the original Firewall game, which was not without its problems. Solaris was an absolute joke, and well, Firewall Ultra is no different. The game barely works and people should really be getting a refund.

    The game is a complete broken mess, DOA, They tried rewriting core fundamentals for a tactical VR shooter. They don't work for the genre and over complicated things Making gameplay frustrating. Gun handing/aiming, movement, and throwing grenade all have major issues.
    The devs are rude frauds, they deceived the community and haven't been able to deliver on anything. No matter how many times I attempted to connect, I never managed to find a match. The waiting times are long, resulting in a complete absence of players to compete against. This renders the game utterly useless for those, like myself, seeking the thrill of online challenges.

    In addition to the matchmaking, there are numerous other bugs infesting the game. Frequent crashes, connectivity issues, unbearable lag, and visual glitches are just some of the problems I encountered. It is evident that the game did not undergo adequate quality control before its release, which is unacceptable considering the price I paid for this experience.

    I attempted to contact customer support for assistance, but the responses were vague and unhelpful. I was promised that the issues would be addressed in a future update, but so far, I have not seen any significant improvement. It is disheartening to see how players are treated so casually after investing time and money into a defective product.

    In conclusion, I can only strongly discourage the purchase of this game. It is a frustrating and disappointing experience, with a completely unusable online multiplayer. I sincerely hope that the developers take these issues seriously and release timely and substantial updates to make their product playable.    … Expand

    I bought the game and was somewhat disappointed because it doesn't have a campaign. The real issue, however, is the bugs. Now I couldn't even get into the game as it freeze on the initial screen. I don't recommend buying it.

    This game should not be clasified as a VR title with locomotion controllers. You cant do there basicaly anything withou pressing a button. You want to reload your weapon? Sure, press a button and watch a laggy animation. Do you wanna stab someone with a knife? Press a button to see the animation. Do you wanna throw grenade? Oh sure, just press the button and see animation of throwing. DoThis game should not be clasified as a VR title with locomotion controllers.     This game was a clear money grab. A lot of essential contractor skills and guns are behind a paywall and the progression system is virtually non-existent. The game barely functions and I would strongly advise anyone interested to stay far away from it for the time being.

    So many bugs! I enjoyed the first one way better matchmaking is broken. The games keeps freezing I never experienced that on the previous firewall.

    2 weeks post launch, matchmaking still broken, servers laggy, people are staying AFK for the whole day because the progression system is so bad and things are behind paywalls and too many other bugs to mention. For god sake, just give people their money back, this is beyond ridiculous!

    I played FCE's first game, Firewall Zero Hour, and while it was fun for what was available at the time on limited hardware, they have carried over the issues from the last game while sucking out the only things that made it fun.     It is also disappointing to see their community manager is back to his old tricks. I was there for the Nightfall update that broke their original game and he acted in an extremely unprofessional manner back then, banning people who were critical from the FCE discord and harassing reddit mods from subs that were warning people of the issues that the game had , and guess what? He has been doing the exact same thing recently with the growing number of frustrated people who bought Firewall Ultra. To add insult to injury, he also clearly put up over 100 fake user reviews on here. I find this to be absolutely deplorable and I will never support another FCE venture.    … Expand

    The progression system is pretty slow and some of the contractor backstories are a bit strange. For example, one is called Frank, who's origin story is working in his father's Italian eatery, but then becoming a desperate Youtuber that setback Italian Americans decades by perpetuating played out "goombah" stereotypes. He then goes on to alienate himself from the larger VR community by spamming reddit with his mediocre guido vr content to the point where they had no choice but to ban him. This did not deter him though, he just created a bunch of alt accounts and continued spamming away.
    Once you reach level 20 Frank then gets a job as community manager at FCE, but does not disclose his dicey past to his future employer. If you disclose this in the game then your rank is reset and you must go back to making pizzas again, very painful!

    It gets even stranger at level 25 when Frank gets banned from an official FCE reddit AMA on his alt account. In order to reach level 30 you have to ban anybody who is critical of the host of problems that a typical FCE game has, from all FCE official social media outlets. You also need to harass anybody who is critical of you online.

    Once you get above level 30 the progression system gets quite repetitive and you are mostly just leaving over 100 fake reviews on Metacritic to try and sell a broken game to people who will not be able to ever get a refund.

    Once again, I am a little perplexed by the storyline and progression system of this game and can't say that I can recommend it to anyone.    … Expand

    Firewall: ultra is not an exceptional game like the first version and the most important game of the platform it was released on. But it’s definitely entertaining and fun (especially with friends) and you can spend a lot of time in it.

    An online team-based shooter that completely overlooks the potential of VR. Firewall Ultra provides a somewhat shallow experience, with matchmaking times often exceeding the actual gameplay, and meager rewards. Despite the relatively limited library of PS VR2, there are better titles available.
