The story of the game is a mediocre story, the gameplay is very enjoyable and attractive, in terms of visuals, it is equal to Cross Gen 2023 games and has a stunning visual, the main boss fights are very similar to each other. The sound design of the game is wonderful, the enemies have a good variety and only one new type of enemy has been added to the remake compared to the original version.

In the era of debate of what is a remaster and what is a remake, Days Gone Remastered does exactly what the title says. New modes such as the horde assault add variety and difficulty and the great accessibility additions contribute to an already strong package. The visuals and audio were already brilliant but the improvements to these departments help solidify their greatness. The story remains exactly as before, warts and all and still is divisive to this day, but to me, it’s a great adventure that tries to tell an intimate story in a vast and daunting world. Hopefully one day, Sony will greenlight a sequel, but for now and to me, this remains Sony’s most underrated game. See you on the open road!

I have waited for years in hope of TopSpin returning in all its glory and boy, has it delivered! A deep and robust career mode and an addictive online serving of tennis really make this game special. Coupled with gorgeous visuals and stunning sound design, this is the quintessential tennis video game. Some wonky currency issues and at times grindy levelling can hinder the experience slightly, but overall this game has reinvigorated my love for tennis in the real world and in the gaming arena. I’ll see you on the court!

To sum up, Directive 8020 is a brilliant new step in the Dark Pictures Anthology. It is a chilling, haunting sci fi horror mystery, with great twist and turns. Refined and polished gameplay and awe inspiring visuals help make this title the best in the series to date. Supermassive are the kings of the interactive horror genre and despite the short length and lack of shared story, this is my favourite entry in the series.

Monster Hunter Wilds isn’t just another entry in the franchise—it’s an evolution. It embraces the core identity of the series while pushing boundaries in ways that keep veterans engaged and newcomers welcomed. Every hunt is an adventure, every battle a test of skill, and every moment in the world a story waiting to unfold. While the difficulty may not be as punishing as past entries, the fluid combat, stunning world, and refined mechanics make it a joy to play.

Brutal, exciting and slightly unsettling, the second jaunt into Blasphemous' idiosyncratic world has tightened up the gameplay. The platforming is improved and the combat is fast and frantic. All in all, Synergy is a breath of fresh air in the city-building genre. It doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel entirely, but the way it rethinks environmental interaction and research injects a surprising amount of life into the experience. It’s not just about expanding — it’s about learning, respecting, and coexisting with your environment. The sense of discovery and stewardship that comes from studying the land around you is unlike anything else in the genre right now. Until Dawn is one of my favourite games of all time and thankfully Ballistic Moon have managed to craft a remake that keeps everything I love so dearly about the original. Great story additions add to an already brilliant horror tale, whilst small but impactful gameplay additions help keep the game fresh. Stunning visuals and voice work remain, along with strong sound design and score. It’s just a shame framerate issues take away from overall presentation and a truly baffling decision by Sony to price this game as a full price AAA game will stop old and new players from enjoying this seminal tale. But for me, this remains the king of narrative horror. See you at dawn!

The puzzles hold up better than the platforming, but it's a nice trip down memory lane for some, and an afternoon of light puzzle-platforming for everyone else.

Overall, despite my many confusions, I enjoy the game’s complexity. The narrative is super enticing and has my attention and is full of twists that I was not expecting—and I’m only a few hours in! The gameplay is yes, complex at times and can be slightly confusing in the beginning, but I think that’s part of the charm to the game. Once you get more comfortable with the many elements in play, things will start making a lot more sense. As someone who went in completely blind to the Pathologic series, I thoroughly enjoyed my time and will continue to play, potentially after I give the previous installments a try. This is one that I can happily recommend!

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is another triumphant return to a franchise dear to my heart. Superb campaigns remade in glorious visuals and a streamlined user experience help make this collection the definitive pro skater package. Whilst the changes made to THPS4 may upset some purists, this is still, for the most part, the games I grew up with fantastic modernised controls and gorgeous visual and animation design. Of course, the glaring omissions in the soundtrack soured my experience to some extent, but thankfully, not terminally. In an era of remakes or remasters, you can place this one squarely in the remake category. A fully remade game from the ground up. Tony Hawk Pro Skater games give you a little slice of nostalgia and they’re just downright fun!

Pokemon Legends Arceus delivers the kind of Pokemon game experience so many have been hoping and asking for such a long time and the potential to do more is huge. The satisfaction of the main story to the new style of battling and focus on exploring this world rather than just being in it gives it an amazing tone that is not about just “I wanna be the very best” and instead has a far richer “I want to learn everything to share that knowledge with everyone” goal that I thrive on. What an incredible way to kick off 2022 as a Nintendo Switch owner.

In the end, Sonic x Shadow generations is a must-have for Sonic fans. Sonic Generations remains one of the best Sonic games of all time, and the addition of Shadow Generations elevates this package to a whole new level. The new mechanics and collectibles in Shadow’s adventure add depth and replay-ability, while the visual upgrades and refined hub world make it clear that SEGA has learned from its past mistakes, especially when compared to Sonic Frontiers. This is a perfect time to hop in and catch up on Shadows story before the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie later this year.

Frostpunk 2 is a brilliant city-builder game. It is difficult but very rewarding to those who stick with it and learn from their mistakes. I am a newcomer to the series and I love it. While I struggled at times (took me 3 attempts to pass the prologue) I persevered and kept coming back. There is a steep learning curve here but it is worth getting through it. Veterans of these games will love the survival aspect of the game and building massive cities and challenging themselves in the Utopia Builder. Lots of freedom of choice present and you can play whatever way you want. Dictator or fair leader? Good or evil? Maybe in the middle? Up to you. Lots of replay value. An excellent game that is worth checking out for PS5 players.

Commander Quest is an addictive, polished strategy roguelite that understands the appeal of combining smart planning with unpredictable outcomes. It won’t replace the genre’s giants, but it carves out a niche with its breezy pace, clever mechanics, and bite-sized battles that beg for “just one more run.” Whether you’re a deckbuilding enthusiast, a tactics fan, or just looking for a fresh spin on strategy, Commander Quest is well worth your attention.

FF7R is a fantastic reimaging of the iconic title. Refusing to classify itself as a nostalgia act, it expands upon the original narrative in new and exciting ways. The combat system has a seamless fluidity to it, allowing for engaging and entertaining gameplay sequences. Artistically, FF7R retains the level of quality players have come to expect from Square Enix, but it does falter ever so slightly in some environments. The updated rendition of the classic OST is outstanding from start to finish, with the sound design team matching it in every regard.

There is no one puzzle repeated, each is with its own challenges and difficulties. So there is no way to expect the game is going to be easy, even if a few levels are a breeze. That is what makes this game exciting and great, it takes a little more planning and sometimes a few mistakes to survive. I honestly just love puzzle games and this one really keeps me motivated, engaged, and amused to keep playing.

Honestly, it’s hard to say that this one game is horrible because in total it was just so much classic FUN! Games back then use to be slower and the colors or way they move are very obvious in each game. Sometimes the sayings, as phrases are a little much and at that time the game was pretty much exciting. So modern games to classic will be hard to find it that entertaining and enjoyable as many would like them to be. However, they are collections of the past, not much changed, and really a blast from the past when playing.

What’s perhaps most impressive is how inclusive the game is without being preachy about it. The Vale was built from the ground up to be accessible to blind and low-vision players, but the experience it delivers is powerful for everyone. It demonstrates that great gameplay doesn’t need to rely on visuals—it just needs immersion, purpose, and heart.

Borderlands 4 isn’t just a return to form, it feels like the natural evolution of the series. A solid story, best-in-class side quests, rewarding loot, and some of the most creative Vault Hunter designs yet make this entry stand tall. Tiny Bookshop is insanely repetitive but with an addictive quality to it. The customization options reinforces the fun, and the slow narrative progression is rather soothing instead of boring. It’s a short and sweet, cozy time. Most of the gameplay is just waiting around though. Aside from the recommendations mechanic, I wish you could interact more with customers. I also wish that the environmental interactions could be more involved or elaborate. Regardless, I highly recommend this game. I think with the upcoming cold front and the tendency to become hermitic for the holidays, this is the perfect time to open up your tiny, digital bookshop.

Mission: Rift Seeker is a game that has launched in early access. The game has solid fundamentals and is a fun colony simulation game. The game teaches you how to start your base and gives you a solid foundation with room to experiment and learn how to let your seekers thrive. However, for a game that revolves around sending your minions to do things, I wish I had more control over my seekers. I also wish things in the game were more clear about how they worked.
