As much as I love the series I do think the next chapter should be the last. If they really wanted to I do think they could make way more chapters and honestly I wouldn’t complain because the games are great, but we all know that milking a franchise can come with some big drawbacks, and I don’t think Mob entertainment are silly enough to jeopardize the great reputation the series has built. But hey, I’m not going to complain if they make some spinoffs or even a few movies…

Yes, some edges might be rough. Some mechanics feel like they’re still being sharpened. But in a genre flooded with sameness, this one is different. It doesn’t just want to be another deckbuilding roguelike… it wants to be the one you remember. I didn’t expect much, but then The King is Watching had me unable to take my eyes off.

Welcome To Basingstoke is a fun, little roguelike action zombie game. The campaign is short but each level offers plenty of replayability and ways to approach. Stealth is great in the game but so is the combat option. Aside from the auto-aim system which can throw you off and lead to a frustrating death, everything is near perfect. Zombies able to kill with one hit leads to a lot of intense, scary moments so the best need to use all their skills to survive. At its best, Rematch shines as an absolute blast of a football game. Unique design, great controls and just downright fun gameplay will keep players coming back for one more match countless times. Stunning visuals and animations also help solidify Sloclap as true masters of graphical presentation. “Eresys” is a game with a lot of potential that is unfortunately held back by several critical flaws. The info-dump introduction and struggling performance are red flags, and the repetitive environments bore over the initial excitement. The game’s reliance on co-op play is both its biggest strength and its weakness, as the sparse public lobbies make it difficult to experience the co-op experience which was. However, effective horror elements and a faithful Lovecraftian atmosphere offer glimpses of potential in “Eresys.” For those with friends who also own the game and a penchant for horror, “Eresys” might offer some enjoyable moments. But for the average solo player, the experience is likely to be as frustrating as it is frightening. I would suggest proceeding with caution, and perhaps waiting for a patch or two to address some of the more glaring issues before diving into this eldritch world. However, for a diehard Lovecraft fan, this game is certainly capable of evoking a decent time.

I think the developers at Team Soda did a great job. I would recommend this to players who enjoy a grind and a challenge. If crafting, looting, questing and cute ducks are your thing, then Escape From Duckov might be the game for you. I’m also glad that Battlestate Games is embracing/promoting the game despite the obvious parody of Escape From Tarkov.

The platform genre is saturated. Therefore, you need something special if you want to stand out. I think Ayo the Clown does just that, as it’s an excellent title. Its story is fun, the environments are interesting and vivid; the gameplay is challenging but fair, and it has plenty of collectables. It ticks all the boxes.

Digital Eclipse did a stellar job paying homage to Atari’s rise and fall. If you’re a classic gamer/Atari fan you’ll have a blast. Outside of that demographic, I worry the $50 price point is a little steep. Having not grown up in the 80’s arcades, I rarely had a good time with most of the games. I never went into this review with a mindset that I would, nor did it cloud my judgement. Playing this game, I appreciated it for what it was. I love researching gaming, as a lover of the art form. Collections like this are important. For anyone wanting to learn about a pivotal era in gaming, check out Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration.

Steredenn: Binary Stars is a high-energy roguelike shoot ’em up with tight mechanics, endless variety, and brutal bosses. While it doesn’t take advantage of PS5-specific features, it runs smoothly and delivers pure arcade joy for fans of challenging gameplay.

Necro Story is a fun auto-battler with an interesting story. Moreover, I enjoyed the tactical approach and the interesting world. My only complaint is the slow opening segment.

Overall, the collection is incredibly accessible, easy to get into, and plays smoothly. There is a near-perfect balance of adventuring, puzzle-solving, and reading. I would highly recommend Ace Attorney Investigations Collection to anyone, whether you have never played Ace Attorney before, or even if you had played the original Investigations back in the day (if you were not a fan at the time, give this title another chance)!

It would have been nice if there were some special features, artwork from Steve Purcell or some of the original comics, but as the saying goes, you should never look a gift horse in the mouth, because this effervescent and evergreen title is an ageless wine with a comically-large gun, and one can only hope that this leads to not only the remastering of the entire trilogy of games on consoles, but also something new. Sam and Max are back, baby.

If you love a good whodunnit and a bit of research and puzzles in between, Cyber Manhunt 2 is an excellent game worth picking up. I have not played the first game so I can’t judge how it fairs as a sequel but I would say that I didn’t need any prior knowledge to be completely immersed into the plot of this game. This a really well-put-together game on the whole, it’s very clear a lot of thought went in writing this story and it’s a concept that could be reused again and again in different scenarios or environments– something I’m hoping the developers at Aluba Studio are planning to do.

Captain Wayne probably won’t appeal to everyone and won’t have the longevity with just this one game, and I think that’s okay. For Ciaran Games LLC’s first game on Steam, the game does its job and has a clear image of what it wants to do. The developers could focus on making new Captain Wayne games, each one playing like a new episode in the series. I could see a future where there’s an “Ultimate Captain Wayne” bundle with five Captain Wayne games together at a cheaper price than buying them individually. Personally, I’m not sure I will be tuning in, as its not my genre of game. However, I’m still hopeful that this is just the beginning for Captain Wayne.

Dagon: Complete Edition is a love letter to some of HP Lovecraft’s earliest tales. It tells gripping narratives across four separate tales with superb visuals and sound design. This type of media is certainly not for everyone but for fans of Lovecraft there is enough to satisfy your hunger with the in game collectibles on offer to uncover. It’s just a shame the experience is extremely short; I long for games that can tell these tales but in a AAA format. But for now, this will certainly do.

Finding the Flowzone is a fantastic addition to an amazing franchise. With zany characters, colourful backdrops, and fast-paced action, this is an incredible DLC that is great value for money. My only complaint, however, is that the gameplay fails to evolve as much as I'd have liked.

The Room is a classic for good reason. The nice puzzles and atmosphere have made the transition to the Switch relatively unscathed, though the controls have suffered a little.
