Outer Terror is a cooperative or single-player horror-inspired rogue-like. Moreover, it is influenced by the 80s and 90s and the aesthetics will tweak at your nostalgia-infused heartstrings. However, it doesn't have the depth of its peers and this holds it back from truly excelling.

With a little more polish Outer Terror could have been a contender. As things stand, it is short of the utter addiction found in Vampire Survivors. It does a job, but is nowhere near as life consuming.

A game that needs to learn better about the use of gameplay elements of a genre, seeking to imitate other existing titles and needing to give its own value beyond just using a retro and nostalgic look. Still, it's not a bad interaction for those looking for similar experiences to which it is inspired, with an acceptable console version.
