May 6, 2025It could have benefited from more sonic variety and a bit more fluidity in certain animations, but none of that detracts from what Amerzone – The Explorer's Legacy offers: an honest, restrained, and very well-crafted adventure. A tranquil gem to disconnect from the noise, enjoy the silence, and let yourself be carried away by the ruins of a forgotten world.

With its sumptuous graphics and Jules Verne-esque universe, the story imagined by Benoît Sokal is enhanced by an approach that manages to modernize the formula without betraying the original. A successful immersion thanks to the quality French voices, the music of Inon Zur and his son, and a fluid and interesting progression. A masterstroke for the Parisian studio of Microids.

What Microids has created here is a great tribute to Sokal's original work, producing something far more lavish and accomplished that manages to carry the charm and emotion that the storytelling deserves.
