Aug 10, 2023I loved Harmony: The Fall of Reverie. It spoke to me in a way that not a lot of games do. I was not really prepared for the feelings I had when I wronged someone I cared about, or when I used influence in a way I wouldn’t normally in my real life; I was left feeling uneasy with my decisions. I easily put over 100 hours into it over the past six weeks, and I’m sure I will put more into it still as I decipher other potential story outcomes. It’s a beautifully written story that I was fully invested in, although I will admit I found it stressful at times since I was responsible for decisions that affected both worlds with no way to reverse my choice if I made the ‘wrong one’. Harmony: The Fall of Reverie raises the bar when it comes to games that promise consequences based on choices made. I firmly believe this is DON’T NODS best game to date.

Jul 14, 2023Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is a stunning visual novel. With multiple storylines and 6 aspirations, there is plenty to see and do. Furthermore, aesthetically it is stunning. If you haven't experienced this genre before, then this is a great place to start.

Jul 3, 2023If we focus on the visual novel genre of gaming, then Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is up there as one of the most accomplished. The story is immense and engaging, the animation is outstanding and some TV broadcast quality is found in the cutscenes.

Jul 9, 2023Harmony: The Fall of Reverie immediately won me over with its beautiful art design, skillful writing, and high-quality voice acting. While the finished product doesn't quite reach the same level of magic, this is still an incredible choice-based, narrative game of hope, loss, love, and humanity.

Jun 29, 2023Harmony: The Fall of Reverie may have an original setting and good art style, but its uneven pacing and arbitrary gamification of player choice removes much engagement from the narrative.
-
Jul 3, 2023Summing things up, Whilst looking nice, the game is overly complex and pretty boring. If you don’t care about the story, characters, mythology, or plot branches which are on display from the start of each act, this soon becomes a slog to play through. If you are a fan of the genre, this would be worth checking out if it comes to Game Pass, but I cannot recommend buying it. Coming from Don’t Nod, this is a disappointing game.

Jul 10, 2023Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is aptly named as it is indeed, the fall of an unbalanced dream. The inspired artistic direction, the sensitive characters, the acting in the dubbing and the musical ambience all contribute greatly to the creation of this original and complex universe. Unfortunately, the title is mercilessly weighed down by an unnecessarily complex and ponderous game interface that constantly taunts us with poor gameplay and choices that were deceptive from the get-go. The promise of making “fully informed” decisions by allowing you to go to the other side of the stage and master the mechanics is far from being kept, and that is what makes the title so disappointing. Best reserved for fans of the French studio.
