In the very near future... When Polly returns home after a few years abroad to look for her missing mother, she quickly realizes that her hometown has drastically changed. A megacorporation named MK is using its power to control the population, and her community is in danger.

She soon discovers that she has a gift of clairvoyance that connects her to Reverie, the realm of the Aspirations of Humanity: Glory, Bliss, Power, Chaos, Bond, and Truth. In this world, Polly becomes Harmony, a goddess who has the power to choose the Aspiration that will ultimately rule over Reverie and restore the delicate balance between the deities' world and ours.

The fate of humanity is at stake. To which destiny do you aspire?

Harmony: The Fall of Reverie from DON’T NOD plays like a proper branching narrative visual novel should play. The acting, writing, and general presentation are the icing on the cake to make this type of gameplay work very well. While it won’t be for everyone, it certainly is top tier for those who are looking for a good branching narrative journey.

Harmony The Fall of Reverie is an excellent narrative adventure: deep, mature, and exciting. It takes us on a journey about hardship, identity, and destiny, asking what role we want to play in a larger-than-expected story and in what ways we would like to shape not only the lives of a small group of people, but of an entire culture and in a sense even all of humanity. It is a game of pure storytelling, extremely focused on its strengths, even at the cost of limiting the pace and the introduction of any Life is Strange-style action gameplay mechanics.

A peculiar visual novel, which represents the most mature work made by DON'T NOD.

Harmony’s main problem is that it is restricted by its structure as a visual novel. While it makes no attempt to be anything else, due to its limitations, the game can be quite hard to recommend to those who wouldn’t normally enjoy visual novels. However, for those who the style appeals to, this is an excellent release you won't want to miss. The story is one of the most incredible and unique, with a great deal of thought put into every single twist and turn.

Don’t Nod ventures into the visual novel territory where decisions really matter, and that can be a good alternative if you’re looking for something closer to Western sensibilities.

The choices you make throughout attest to the game’s belief that logic and empathy aren’t mutually exclusive.

There is both too much and too little going on in Harmony: The Fall of Reverie at any given time. It is a game of many parts that don’t come together – an interesting design study packaged in a mildly boring game.
