Jun 18, 2025Siren's Rest DLC is a fantastic addition to the base game. If you have Game Pass, you can play the original as part of the subscription service. This additional content is both creepy and uncomfortable, yet wonderfully captivating. If you love the original, you'll adore this!

Jul 1, 2025Dive in to Still Wakes the Deep: Siren's Rest and you’ll be totally hooked by the few hours it takes to run. There are a few tiny bugs, and you can find yourself lost a lot, but overall the story is tight, exciting, and a great extension of the Still Wakes the Deep universe.

Jun 18, 2025Still Wakes the Deep was an incredible game. Siren’s Rest shows the aftermath and how it affected at least one family. For $13, I think it’s well worth checking out for anyone who’s beaten the main game.

Jun 18, 2025A too short affair with a real threat at the conclusion of Siren’s Rest means a lot of the game is spent swimming and gathering narrative exposition rather than fighting for survival as in Still Wakes the Deep. Luckily, the story told is engaging enough to pull us through the few hours it takes, and the sense of being at the bottom of the North Sea is convincing enough to be its own threat for those of us who aren’t super keen on the water as it is. I’m not sure if it helped or hindered my preparation for real life though…

Jun 18, 2025Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest DLC is tense yet unsatisfying in its encore.
-
Jun 18, 2025Its inevitable sections where you're beating a frantic escape are frustrating tests of trial and error, and, while developer The Chinese Room conjures some memorable sights and dreamlike weirdness, anyone expecting something on a par with the main story in Still Wakes the Deep will come away bitterly disappointed. Sadly, Still Wakes the Deep: Siren's Rest ends up feeling like an inconsequential two hours or so, failing to really add anything to Caz McLeary and co.'s surreal and superb journey. And those answers you’re looking for? Frustratingly, they never come. But, then, maybe that’s the point.

Jun 18, 2025Still Wakes the Deep was one of my favorite games of 2024. This expansion is one I never thought we’d get. I’m very glad that it exists, as it has the same level of tension and terror as the base game does. But completely submerged and even more claustrophobic. If you were a fan of Still Wakes the Deep, you owe it to yourself to check this one out. It’s just as strange and interesting as the base game. All while finding new ways to scare you.
