Jan 26, 2026If you enjoy detective stories, narrative-driven games, or mysteries that reward careful thinking under pressure, this game is shaping up to be a compelling experience. Clue: Murder By Death understands the appeal of a good mystery and respects the player’s ability to solve it. Placing strict limits on time and information, it creates a sense of urgency that makes every choice feel meaningful. It is not about finding every answer, but about finding the right one before time runs out.

Mar 13, 2026Clue: Murder By Death will disappoint those looking for a direct adaptation of the very popular boardgame. It will also fail to deliver the level of humor and kitsch of the movie. But, with its simple mechanics and extensive storytelling, it does deliver a pretty cool murder mystery that starts off pretty slow and then delivers plenty of surprises. The presentation will be the biggest obstacle for detective game aficionados. Put on a crime-focused podcast and take breaks when the simple graphics start to grate. Clue: Murder By Death’s more than 100 rooms don’t all pack surprises, but they create a fictional universe with a ton of storytelling potential.

Feb 13, 2026Clue: Murder by Death seems perfect for a niche audience, as it offers a mystery that requires player commitment and meaningful deduction skills to solve, with very few tools to make it easier. For a general audience, however, the game is likely to feel slow, awkward to play, and full of distracting load times, which come together to make a game that’s hard to engage with.

Feb 13, 2026Should Clue: Murder By Death ever add in some quality of life basics, even just labeling the rooms, or allowing you add markers, this could be a wonderful mystery. For now, unfortunately, it's one where it feels fine to leave quite a few stones unturned.

Feb 22, 2026Clue: Murder by Death oozes charm and nails the whodunnit vibe, with clever companion mechanics and a ticking clock that keeps the tension high. Sadly, the bloated mansion, limited inventory, and forced repetition drag the experience down. The game is brilliant in concept, yet flawed in execution. However, for under twenty bucks, mystery fans might still find it worth the sleuth.
