If you were a fan of Innocence then you are going to adore A Plague Tale: Requiem. It’s a familiar experience but one in which the mechanics, visuals, sound, and story have all been ramped up. Lasting around thirteen hours, A Plague Tale: Requiem manages to eclipse the first game; pretty much every minute is heavenly.

A Plague Tale Requiem is one of the must play games of 2022 on the Xbox Series X and if you enjoyed the original or looking for something different yet totally enjoyable, this next-gen experience from Asobo Studio will keep you invested from start to finish. Highly Recommended!

A Plague Tale: Requiem is what we hoped for: a reconfirmation. Asobo has built a sequel in an almost artisanal way that knows perfectly where he has to bet his chips, where he has to stop and where there was no need to put his hand. The end result is once again a surprise, but for different reasons. A Plague Tale: Requiem has what it takes to make it better than its predecessor. It is true, I may have shown a certain mild disappointment on the graphic aspect but, given the starting point, signaling a slight improvement, even though it may be below expectations, still places the game as excellent example. Also because, A Plague Tale (the series) is not that, it never was. It has always been a memory to go through, it has always been the story of Amicia and Hugo. A story that, I bet, will remain in your memory. In the memory of the video game.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a sure candidate for GOTY because of how great it is. It's hard not to get hooked on its story or fall in love with its artistic direction, it makes us empathize with the characters and their experiences. Every player should give it a chance, even the first game.

A Plague Tale: Requiem develops the strengths of the first chapter to the full, to create a cinematically cut, emotionally charged adventure with satisfying stealth mechanics, action, puzzles, memorable characters, heart-pounding sequences and lots and lots of rats.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a mighty fine follow up to Innocence, and will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Sure, there’s the odd interesting design choice littered throughout and the game has the odd technical issue, but other than that, Requiem is a great way to spend a weekend.

A Plague Tale: Requiem has seemed to me an exercise as remarkable visually as irregular mechanically and narratively. A competent videogame that will please those who enjoyed the first one, but that repeats, and I would even say that it intensifies, some of the mistakes that were pointed out to the original.

The truth is that the game duo is excellent, the improvements they made to this game were incredible.

The story is simply magnificent, you get attached to all the characters that appear and suffer with them. Amicia's thoughts/feelings rub off on the player in a way I've never seen a game do that. There are hours when I thought "what a pain".

About combat, I believe they play a good role, demonstrating Amicia's fragility and at the same time her dexterity. Makes the game "real" in my view.
Stealth has some issues, but much better than many games I've played. It's a little hard to get used to, I think the difficulty progression was a little complex for those who don't "remember" the last game well. Stealth is slightly easier when you know how to use Amicia's tools correctly, but still with its difficulties of carrying only 2 arrows and the stone making a lot of noise. Anyway, just like in other games, you can go full rush burning the bush along with the enemies, exploding the pots with fire, throwing rats and so on.

The story of the game was able to revive and also complete the legacy left by the first part, and presented a very excellent story with a well built narrative, to say the least, despite the plot twist in the end, which succeeded in making us hate the game in a way. proving how connected we've gotten to the characters and the story as a whole, in the same way we felt towards second games with the same style as The Walking Dead and Life is Strange.
The game is the same as the first part, but with a greater expansion and much more freedom in a world that has lost the hope of a calm life. The game also gave us more freedom in playing as Amicia, and unlike the previous part, we were able to attack and defend and also repel the attacks of the enemies, and of course this is due to the removal some restrictions that were caused by Hugo's companionship, which resulted in a much more diverse and expansive gameplay. The graphics are perfect, and their beauty increases the cinematography of the game, which makes the player feel that they're living a movie rather than playing a game. The development of the characters is written very smoothly and presented in an elegant style throughout the game, and I personally liked the development of the character of Hugo, who had an increased sense of responsibility towards his small family throughout the course of the story, which ends with the great sacrifice, in order to save them and also liberate them from the restrictions of his protection, even though I hated him Somehow in the events of the first part.
The puzzles became more diverse than those in the last part, and this is good in my opinion, because it is better than just a game in which we just move forward and let the course of the narrative do the rest, but I also do not like repeating some of them, but nevertheless there was no big repetition because it was only in the first chapter that was introductory.
The game, in my opinion, deserves to be among the candidates for the game of the year award, even if it does not win, but I know that it will not take enough credit, especially in front of the two great God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring, who represent to many people the epitome of the story-driven games, but if it is up to me, A Plague Tale Requiem is my GOTY.
This game takes a solid 9.5/10.

After playing the original, being back with these siblings is fantastic. I highly recommend playing this game, especially if you have it for free via Xbox game pass! If you haven't played the first game, then I highly advise to look up on YouTube a story Recap of the first game so that you will feel the emotional strain and love between Amecia(sp), Hugo and Company that joined along the way. So again do yourself a favor and pkay this game! Expand
