Keylocker is a cyberpunk-infused title that has plenty of potential. However, awkward controls and tough mechanics prevent it from excelling. This is a shame as it could have been amazing. If you love the genre, you will enjoy what you see.

Aquarist is a niche simulation title. Setting up each fish tank and creating the perfect exhibition can be relaxing. However, the repetitive nature of the gameplay and the underwhelming aesthetics let it down.

Overall, Chocobo GP has a lot to offer for an alternative to such kart-based staples like Mario Kart. It’s vibrant, offers a good experience with slight variations on the genre’s norms. What lets it down, however, is the price point and reliance on microtransactions/season passes to experience the full game. If you’re a die-hard Final Fantasy fan then I recommend it, for everyone else there’s Mario Kart.

Synergia is a futuristic Cyberpunk thriller that fails to fulfil its potential. With heavy information dumps, and too many loose ends, this tells a confusing story. Furthermore, the romance element should have been brilliant, but its introduced too far into the story to make a positive impact.

With a simple story and a play time of roughly 20 hours, The Tarnishing of Juxtia is a fun bite sized adventure for those looking for something with a little difficulty to it. There aren’t too many gripes to be had with the game but one of the biggest flaws to be seen is the fact that combat can start to feel repetitive outside of boss fights and some of the enemies have some outlandish attacks that may feel unfair to some players. This is definitely a game worth picking up and is a wonderful addition to the ever growing genre of souls like games but with its own charm to make it stand out from the rest.

Overall this game is a great opportunity to pick up and play whenever, it may be quite difficult but it’s generally quite a short game. The art style alone is fascinating enough to recommend this game alone. The storytelling is very ambitious but overall wasn’t very engaging and I would have liked to hear more of that beautiful soundtrack. Altogether, I’m still very excited to see what Orangutan Matter makes next.

A Game About Digging a Hole is a minimalist experience that will not blow you away. However, it is enjoyable in small doses. I liked the straightforward action and the freedom to explore. However, a lack of structural items creates grind. If the developer expands the core idea, this could be something special.

If you’re familiar with indie horrors and have played many before, then this one is probably not for you. The game’s proportions of narrative and horror are heavily skewed towards the narrative with non-scary puzzle solving seated alongside it. I can see the many positives with Narin: The Orange Room and think that overall, it does deserve the positive reviews it currently has on Steam. It certainly is not the worst game I’ve played. On the flip side, it certainly is not the best either. Unfortunately, I think that’s just how things will stay too.

Bounty Hunter 2024 didn't float my boat. Sadly, I don't think it will resonate with modern audiences and that is a shame. However, if you love the original, or you adore Star Wars, you will fall for its dated charms. Not a game for me, but you may love to explore this sci-fi world.

Birdigo no doubt succeeded in being an enjoyable and addictive experience, on top of that it had some unique power-ups and it was a very calm and peaceful game. However, its difficulty and luck dependent system ruined the gameplay massively. It's no doubt one of the best word games I've ever played but at the same time the hardest and most annoying one too.

All in all, Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord is a solid TRPG with some peaks and troughs to its gameplay. I do feel as though those who have played the original title will get more out of this, so if Fairy Fencer sounds like your bag, I’d probably investigate the remaster; Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force before trying out Refrain Chord.

Pac-Man Museum + is a Game Pass title that comprises 14 classic Pac-Man games. The developers have tried to bring this much-loved franchise back to life. However, they have only succeeded in creating a padded-out and tired experience.

Kao the Kangaroo is a classic 3D adventure platformer. Sadly, its reliance on well-trodden mechanics hinders the action. Moreover, there are better examples of the genre. However, its graphics, audio, and variety of environments are fantastic. It's a shame that the rest of the game isn't as inventive or as polished. If they were, this would have been a great game.

Ambulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator is a bit of a mixed bag. The gameplay could have been fantastic if it were not for the bugs. Moreover, the repetitive and sluggish action holds it back. If the developer can iron out the issues this could be a thrilling simulation experience. If you adore simulation games and you want to become a paramedic, this will tick those boxes.

Tour de France 2024 is a competent and enjoyable cycling simulation that caters well to its target audience. However, its failure to innovate and distinguish itself from last year’s edition limits its appeal. While it offers everything fans of the genre would expect, it doesn’t push any boundaries or introduce significant new features. For cycling aficionados, it’s a solid choice, but for still, it might feel like a ride they’ve taken one too many times.

Little Orpheus is a colourful adventure title that plays it too safe. I loved its whacky story, interesting backdrops, and fun mechanics. However, its repetitive nature undermines its potential and this was disappointing.

Astral Takers feels like a deliberate “comfort JRPG” perfect for those 1-3 hour sessions to kill some time. A low-stress, linear romp with a likable party, dependable turn-based fights, and a summoning wrinkle that keeps encounters from going stale. It rarely overreaches and, as a result, rarely dazzles. If you grew up on 16-/32-bit RPGs and want something you can chip away at in short sessions on a weeknight or commute, this scratches that itch. If you’re hunting for bold narrative swings, open-ended builds, or modern design risks (think branching jobs, tactical grid depth, or roguelite-adjacent experimentation), you’ll likely bounce off its safe choices.

Moonrider feels like a nostalgic mish-mash of different ideas, with little care taken as to how each new idea will affect the whole. This game is very fun on a first playthrough, and fairly dull on any subsequent ones. The game is not open enough to appeal to exploratory players who want to find its secrets, and the game is nowhere near tight enough to appeal to old school arcade players or rank chasers. There’s almost certainly a plurality of people who fall into the middle somewhere and they’ll almost definitely love the game, but for me, it’s just a fairly good retro platformer; a game-type which I’m quickly becoming tired of.

A quite frankly crazy game which looked like a bit of a joke at first glance, but play through it and you’ll end up enjoying it and loving your hamster even more and just maybe, you might even start looking at it differently...

Days of Doom is a new IP from Atari. However, it lacks originality, and it is unfortunately repetitive. Yet, if you love the genre and zombies, then there is enough to keep you happy.

If you’re looking for a polished social deduction experience, you might want to wait and see how Zombie Within develops. However, if you’re willing to try and enjoy the thrill of a fresh concept, Zombie Within might offer a unique and suspenseful experience. Just be prepared for a few bumps along the way.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance remains an incredibly deep and interesting game, dogged by the twin bugbears of combat and saving. Unfortunately, the Switch isn't really the right home for it.

Dripping with atmosphere and a wonderful visual style, REPOSE sadly has little time for its own gameplay.

In the end, Monster Train 2 is a ride that promises hellfire and havoc but mostly delivers a slot machine in disguise. Beneath the bold aesthetics, catchy animations, and endless streams of demonic jargon lies a game that seems more interested in flipping coins than rewarding planning or skill. Sure, there are moments when the cards line up, your units hold their ground, and the monster library gets a new dusty entry. Strategy might give you the illusion of control, but don’t be fooled, this train doesn’t run on tactics, it runs on dice rolls. Maybe that’s enough. Maybe the spectacle, the lore, and the familiar mechanics still hold some spark. But for newcomers like me, Monster Train 2 isn’t a calculated journey through the underworld.

As a visual novel, it’s serviceable at best. If you can ignore the poor translation, there’s a good story in there somewhere. I enjoyed the endings. Going through the whole game again wasn’t too much of a pain and there’s a relatively satisfying, not too depressing, conclusion. Unfortunately, The Hungry Lamb just makes too many slip-ups on the way. If you’re looking for a polished and thought-provoking piece, this lamb may just be a bit too overcooked.

Around the World: Travel to Brazil Collector’s Edition is a solid hidden object game with good visuals and a charming atmosphere. The variety of locations, mini-games, and the bonus content in the Collector’s Edition make it a good value for fans of the genre. While the repetitive gameplay and lack of a deeper story limits its appeal to hardcore puzzle enthusiasts, it offers a relaxing and informative virtual escape to Brazil for super casual players.

The game does suffer from performance issues and a lack of variety, which may affect long-term replay-ability. However, for its price point, “Sky Survivors” is a worthwhile addition to any Switch owner’s library, especially for those looking for a quick and satisfying gaming experience during short journeys or flights.

Personally, I am not too attached to Burnhouse Lane. The chapters do not flow together well, the gameplay is sluggish, and the motifs are overly off-putting. However, the visual design is something to behold and the voice-acting is a great touch. The characters are dynamic and ever-evolving and the atmosphere will certainly get players into a dark, Halloween-ready mood.

Despite its basic design and old-school ways, Gruniozerca Trilogy is a great indie title. It was addictive, fun, and great to play. Moreover, its casual approach is a nice change of pace.

Hirogami can be a fun game at times but it can be disappointing in other areas. It is a visually stunning game. The paper changing mechanic where you can transform into other animals is a great mechanic and can keep combat fresh sometimes and offer different ways to play and fight. But a frustrating camera angle which causes more harm than good, disappointing boss fights and story, and some bugs like falling through the map really bring the game down. Hirogami ends up just being fine as a game, which is a shame. The game teases a sequel at the end so hopefully the sequel can build on this.

MACROSS Shooting Insight is a game I wanted to love but too many things just got in the way. A story left by the wayside, chaotic visuals and gameplay decisions lead to frustrating moments. Luckily, it’s not all bad, due to superb sound design and visuals that hold up for the most part. This, coupled with a truly unique ever changing gameplay style, means there is enough for some veterans of the franchise to love. A truly mixed bag.

It’s challenging when you continue to move forward and have to serve so many more customers. Just like a regular tycoon or sim-style game, it’s very demanding and in a way neverending. However, I don’t think this is the type of game for myself. Even if it’s well done on covering the horror aspects and business running routine, it’s just too dark and strange for me.

Charon's Staircase is a classic horror puzzle title with a thriller twist. It plays the part perfectly with cliched jump scares and a sinister atmosphere. However, its limited replay value and well-trodden mechanics leave you feeling underwhelmed.

Sephonie has a lot of interesting things to say but unfortunately isn't too great at the gameplay side. Musings on change, identity and place are good. Awkward platforming and oddly easy puzzles, less so.

This isn’t a management sim; it’s a waiting room with spells. It scratches the surface of genre expectations but never commits to depth or consequence. For players seeking an actual challenge or meaningful engagement, this is not your class. To put it simply: if you came looking to graduate from novice to master, you might want to transfer. In this school, the only lesson is how little a game can offer while still looking like it’s teaching something.

Electrician Simulator is a fun title that sadly misses the mark. It lacks the realism of its peers, and it focuses on too many elements that water down its quality. Consequently, I enjoyed it, but it didn't grab me like many other simulator titles.

Pets Hotel is a basic simulation game with limited depth. The action is great if you love pets and straightforward gameplay. However, if you want something to test you, this will leave you wanting.

The Unexpected Quest fails to reach its potential. This slow time-sink lacks challenge and is often repetitive. Though there were some glimmers of hope, they barely papered over the cracks!

Escape from Terror City is a low-poly 3D bullet help experience. Furthermore, this short title will drive you mad because of its odd depth perception. Consequently, you will become frustrated, and this is unfortunate. However, if you love old-school titles, you'll still fall for its charms.

Bunny Park is a cute and relaxing game all about rabbits. If you wish to succeed, you must clear debris, add decorations, and feed the animals. Sadly, this is the depth of its gameplay, and it offers little replay value or longevity.

Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx is a nice addition to the much-loved franchise, if you are a child. Consequently, it is aimed towards younger gamers, so it won't receive any major plaudits. However, my children enjoyed it, even if I found it to be flawed. With colourful graphics, interesting stage design, and the right blend of casual action, this will entertain the youngsters in your house.

Overall, Universe for sale is a cute little narrative game that does a wonderful job of bringing you alongside its simple story, even if there are a few frustrations here and there.

With decent core gameplay, but a discardable anime story and minimal depth, Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent is a game for casual strategy game fans who want to enjoy some lightweight mechanics without jumping in at the deep end, which – as a fan of this approach myself – there is certainly a market for, but just don’t expect to be wowed in any given area.

Tricky Thief is a colourful top-down puzzle experience. With simple mechanics and a gentle learning curve, it is pretty easy to master. However, the latter stages are much harder as more mechanics are introduced.

While the game initially draw’s you in, the lack of strategic challenge quickly turns the experience stale. If you’re looking for a quick, casual rogue like strategy game, To The Stars might scratch that itch. But if you’re after a more nuanced, challenging RTS experience, you may find yourself disappointed. To The Stars shines in some areas but ultimately falls short of the brilliance it could have achieved.

Fast & Furious: Arcade Edition is a fast and hectic racing game. It can be played alone or locally with another. Though I became tired of the shallow action, my kids enjoyed the simplicity and vibrant graphics.

As it stands, it earns a 6 out of 10 for its unique setting and ambitious design but falls short due to the control and technical shortcomings that hold it back from being really a good game.

Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril is an old-school platform title with hints of Metroidvania chucked in. Consequently, it is brutal, frustrating, but oh so moreish. You'll scream and want to quit as you die repeatedly. However, a hero is needed to save the day and you must step forward. This is a must-play for fans of retro gaming, but it may be underwhelming if you are on the fence.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a welcome attempt to reignite the spark of the older games in the series, refined by the techniques of the newer. Unfortunately, the end result is a shallow and poorly written affair, held up by an interesting setting and some thoughtful main missions.

Demolish and Build Classic is a fun and oddly addictive title. However, it doesn't reach its potential. Furthermore, the audio is weird and graphically it is dated. As such, it won't impress veterans of the genre. Even though I found faults, I still enjoyed my time with this rudimentary simulation game.

The Library of Babel is a lore-rich stealth adventure title. What's more, it incorporates some Metroidvania mechanics to add a layer of difficulty. However, its slow gameplay and confusing text make it challenging to play. Accordingly, it doesn't reach its potential and that was disappointing.

The entire game is quite fun with plenty of tasks to accomplish, and many locations to visit! Plus, being able to make one’s own routes and the freedom to roam a little is quite nice. I feel the only two problems are that I wish some parts could be a bit clearer and more realistic, with some more customizing choices. Also, driving up hills or sloped locations can be very horrible. When you have no speed it is like slowly crawling to get to the leveled road to be able to move with speed again. Otherwise, the game isn’t too bad. Especially, if you loved the classic PS1 style graphics and don’t mind a limited amount of originality to the background visuals, the appearance of passengers, and the bus or objects around.

Dungeon Munchies is an interesting concept and I always want to support indies where I can. However, Dungeon Munchies feels like it’s a game that needs a bit of work before it’s worth picking up. I will say it is fun in its food and crafting mechanics and the plot is great. If they can patch the control mechanisms to make them better, then this would be a solid platforming experience.

Metro Simulator 2 is a relaxing and challenging railway simulation title. This single-player experience lets you drive 2 different trains across the Russian Metro network. However, complex controls and problematic gameplay hold it back. Furthermore, it isn't as accessible as other train simulation titles.

With bland Souls-like gameplay and disappointing bosses, Watcher Chronicles joins the bottom of the pile in an ever-expanding genre with far better and more in-depth alternatives, ultimately leaving the game with nowhere to go but join the bargain bin of 2-minute platinum-chasers and mobile games.

This game is not terrible, however, it is not fantastic. This genre has to have a strong story to be remembered due to the lack of action, thrills, and spills. Martha is Dead just lacks that spark to make it great. The ending of the game is fairly predictable, and it was not the most enjoyable journey to get there. Unfortunately, it falls short of its peers but is still worthy of your time.

Ship Simulator is a simulation title that fails to reach its potential. Disappointingly, it doesn't reach the heights of other Ultimate Games SA games. With a lack of depth and slow gameplay, you'll be left wanting. However, there are fleeting moments of enjoyment that ensure you can see this one through.

Bunhouse is a fun but straightforward garden simulation title. It can be enjoyed alone or with others. However, its gameplay lacks depth and the textures are somewhat rough. Accordingly, it is a niche game that will have a limited appeal.

As a retro-inspired title, Super Onion Boy 2 ticks all the boxes. It’s bright, fun, and has a loud soundtrack. Furthermore, it’s easy to pick up, has secret locations to find. Yet, it lacks originality and depth. I wish the developers had tried something unique, but this never happened. I enjoyed it, but it could have been so much more.

Yomawari is a beautiful, unique game with a heavy atmosphere and a competent story, but it’s weighed down by too many gamplay issues to warrant paying the $40. Unless you are a pre-established Yomawari fan, or are just in love with this genre of horror, I would wait for a sale, or even scoop up the other games instead.

Although I found it partially enjoyable, No Place for Bravery ultimately didn’t do itself justice. Its narrative structure is more than a bit messy, and it often comes across as clichéd. The gameplay, while having a fair amount of customisation options, suffers from sloppy combat functionality. If nothing else, the visual and audio departments prop up the game to a slightly above average Souls-like. I really hope that Glitch Factory takes the criticism on board, and uses it to give No Place for Bravery the quality of life update it deserves. But, as of right now, I can only offer a light recommendation.

Leif’s Adventure: Netherworld Hero isn’t a bad game. It’s just above average. The story and Leif’s journey is very good and emotional. As a sibling, I understand his character and it makes him relatable. The themes of bravery and friendship are powerful and makes the game worth playing through. Exploring the map is fun and rewarding and the art style makes the world incredibly beautiful to explore. But the clunky combat, ghost guide mechanic and even camera at times can make the adventure tedious and frustrating. If you are into 2-D action games, it can be worth trying out but there are better alternatives out there.

Kaichu: The Kaiju Dating Sim is a strange game with an even more unusual concept. Can you find the monster of your dreams? Pick a date, answer some questions, and smash some famous landmarks. Some of you will love it, but I didn't appreciate its concept.

Broken Spectre offers a spooky atmosphere and a unique hand-tracked horror experience. However, technical limitations and a short playtime might be drawbacks for some.

Panic in Sweets Land delivers a delightful blend of action and charm, appealing to fans of side-scrolling action games and magical girl anime alike. Its vibrant visuals, engaging combat system, and humorous narrative create an enjoyable experience suitable for a wide audience. While it may not offer deep complexity, its accessible gameplay and replay-ability make it a sweet treat worth indulging in.

If time was given to clean up the inconsistent implementation and awful bugs in The Origin: Blind Maid, then the cheesy voice acting and reasonable scares might act as an entertaining interactive evening at home, just don’t hold your breath for it to come anytime soon considering the enormity of the task.

A nice central idea that's dragged down by a cluster of other frustrations. Shows promise but isn't quite ready for prime time.

The Last Cube is a clean-cut but challenging puzzle platformer. You must tackle many problems and avoid obstacles as you overcome each puzzle. Deceptively easy at first, however, you'll soon be screaming at its brutality.

Car Detailing Simulator is an addictive title that is tough to put down. Thanks to the variety of cars and tasks, you'll be kept busy throughout. However, annoying controls and tiresome bugs taint the end product.

Haunted House is a rogue-like title that focuses on stealth. Moreover, it utilises a repetitive gameplay loop and a simplistic approach. As such, this prevented it from excelling and that was disappointing. However, it is enjoyable on a rudimentary level and should be enjoyed casually.

Returning fans, I am sure will be able to salvage something from this title but good luck to those like myself who jumped head first into this title with limited pre-knowledge, you might struggle to understand everything going on.

The House of the Dead 2: Remake made me smile. However, I know it'll be niche. This genre is dying and that is a shame. This dated experience highlights the beauty of arcade shooters and the brilliance of retro gaming.

Wife Quest is a colourful retro and humorous platform title. It flirts with borderline inappropriate moments and therefore won't be suitable for younger players. Older gamers, however, will find it amusing, challenging, and addictive.

UFOPHILIA is an interesting and fun alien experience. However, the learning curve and lack of multiplayer action leave a lot to be desired. This holds it back, but it is still enjoyable, regardless.

Nova Antarctica looks very pretty and can tug at the heartstrings, but its chopped up level structure and awkward exploration build up the frustration.

I think my main takeaway from Deathwish Enforcers is that arcade games are not meant for me, it is a rare beast that comes along that tags my interest as I just don’t have the nostalgia to help me look beyond what I see as glaring design issues but are rather just features of games of that era. So it’s hard to criticise Deathwish for these design choices when that’s exactly the point they were going for. However, I can’t say I enjoyed my time with the game much but if you’re a fan of games in the style of Metal Slug then this is 100% for you.

I Am Future has a handful of interesting components, but the wonky progression and shallow mechanics hold it back.

There is so much to achieve and learn as days go on in this game. Much to be done and very easy to do. The game is filled with unique characters to meet and befriend, as well as cats that you will get to pet, feed, and befriend also. It’s a game that any cat lover or gamer who enjoys an easy and simpler tycoon, simulated, and the sandbox-style game would love to play.

Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi is an interesting, if not a generic, take on the dungeon crawler experience. While it has its issues, it’s a solid experience with a refined turn-based combat system. If you’re a fan of the genre and want some unique designs, this may be a title worth checking out.

Volgarr the Viking II is a cruel and often unfair game that will push your buttons. This extremely tough title will attract a niche audience. Accordingly, many gamers will be put off. Unfortunately, this sequel isn't as good as its predecessor and that disappointed me.

Blockbuster Inc. is a intriguing simulation game that can offer a fun time creating wacky scenes, but the fun ends fast when you realise it's lack of polish and depth.

The Knights of the Cross is a pretty but ultimately shallow card based battler. The ally system is a decent twist but the atrocious translation and lack of exciting details in the combat bring it back down. The peculiar choice of art style also makes it a game you might want to hide when a family member walks in.

Hammerwatch 2 has the feel of old school roleplaying games with its great pixel art and challenging combat. Where it lacks is in its horrible performance on PS4 and the tedious and sometimes difficult-to-find quest items.

Aside from the single-player campaign needing some development plot-wise to distinguish it from the online mode, Sky Fleet is an enjoyable, engaging and challenging action RTS game. With co-op being one of the main focuses of Sky Fleet, the addition of friends would absolutely improve any experience with this game and solve a lot of the issues regarding plot and storylines. With lots of room to grow in the future, Sky Fleet is one to watch if you’re a fan of co-op tower defence titles.

Vengeful Heart is a futuristic cyberpunk visual novel about betrayal and revenge. With a female protagonist at the helm, I expected an Otome approach, but this wasn't to be. Sadly, it evolves too quickly and this undermines the story while reducing its depth. Consequently, it doesn't reach its potential and that was disappointing.

Rugby 22’s solid gameplay struggles to carry an otherwise mediocre offering and the result is a game that feels like a missed opportunity. Whilst the initial engagement of the deep, well realised incarnation of the sport of Rugby had me excited, the game’s lack of polish in other areas severely hampers the overall experience.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown could be a phenomenal racing title. However, there are too many flaws and this holds it back. It was a shame as I wanted to love it. Despite the shortcomings, the open world is great and there was enough to keep me interested.

It is definitely a nice experience if this is the sort of game you are into. To me the walking back and forth and talking with the same no voice acted characters to see if there’s something I missed was tedious, but definitely rewarding when my brain finally clicked and I solved the puzzle / riddle. The game is sitting at $10.59 which in my opinion isn’t worth it for a 3 hour experience with no replay-ability factor but that may be due to me not being a fan of such games. With that in mind I still commend the game for what it is. A story focused puzzle experience, and this it does pretty well.

Trek to Yomi is a beautiful and sombre title that is full of death and destruction. Its story is amazing, as is the cinematic. However, the controls, combat, and repetition hold it back and are disappointing.

Overall Netherworld Covenant was all in all an okay game, despite the weak and basic narrative, average graphics, and the randomly generated labyrinths which become rather boring and tiring after a while, I still found myself getting some enjoyment out of it even if it wasn’t as consistent as I would have liked it to be. There wasn’t anything special about it, nor did it have anything which made it standout in its subgenre, making it average at best.

This game may be too unforgiving for a puzzle game, and too lackluster for a platformer. Otherwise, It’s a Wrap is full of charm and great ideas, providing a window for inspiration for games in the future.

What I experienced was a fun but short and undercooked title. It needed much more depth and a greater range of difficulty. None of the aliens will test you and this undermines the difficulty. I wish the developers had worked on the resource management and upgrade system some more. If this had been explored, the gameplay would be exponentially better. All things considered, I enjoyed it, but I wanted much more.

It is not a bad idea. It is just unfinished in spirit, like a proof of concept that made it out the door too early. With more time and clearer direction, this could have landed. As it stands, it just doesn’t.

Songs of Silence is a fun but challenging auto-battler strategy title. I normally overlook minor issues, however the frame rate and lack of balance make this a particularly tough game to play. PC gamers may not experience the same issues, but console gamers will need this ironing out.

In short, KillSquad is an okay RPG, but it doesn’t do anything special to keep my interest.

Mr Prepper: Animal Farm DLC is a great addition to the base game. However, it doesn't tackle the issues I previously experienced. This was frustrating as the developer should have tightened things up. Yet, if you can ignore these problems, you'll enjoy the aliens and the farming-related madness.

Overall, Empty Shell is an enjoyable Rogue-lite with a unique look and great horror elements. Reminiscent of past horror games, and with satisfying combat, Empty Shell is great to play in short bursts. While the gameplay loop may put some people off, if you are a horror fan, you could do a lot worse than Empty Shell. Furthermore, there is a wealth of lore hidden around the facility, and if you let the story ensnare you, you could get addicted to the experience of running through the facility narrowly escaping death at every turn.

While Trigon: Space Story could really have been something special, I feel it got stuck under FTL’s shadow. The gameplay doesn’t flow great, the additions don’t feel that impactful and the overall balance of the game is off. While the graphics and visuals are great, it is not enough to carry the whole game on its shoulders. I can recommend this game if you’ve experienced everything FTL has to offer and still want more like it. Otherwise I’d wait until a sale.
