Manic Mechanics is a hectic multiplayer title that treads familiar ground. I liked the interesting level design and the upbeat audio. However, its lack of originality and the poor plot were not as good as its peers. Though I was slightly disappointed, I enjoyed the casual and amusing action.

Andro Dunos 2 is an homage to side scrolling shoot’em ups and does most things well, the weaponry options are particularly impressive. So if you’re looking for some high octane action over a short period you won’t go far wrong with Andro Dunos 2. Unfortunately there isn’t much depth to Andro Dunos 2 in terms of modes so once you’ve completed it you won’t replay it.

Games don’t always require a complex and in-depth story to be great. This is proven in Hidden Shapes: Animals + Lovely Cats as it’s simple but wonderful at the same time. If you come to Bloodlines 2 purely for a moody, well-acted vampire story and some clever investigative beats, it’s worth the time. If you come for the old-school, systems-forward roleplaying that made the original a cult classic, you’ll have to make do with the first game. The mechanical scope has been narrowed, and the promise of freedom is more about moment-to-moment play than the long arc of building your unique vampire. In short, it’s a respectable vampire game with sharp writing and a few memorable moments, but it shouldn’t be wearing the “Bloodlines” badge.

I really wanted to love Gotham Knights, and mostly, I did. However, I can’t ignore its repetitive gameplay, awful vehicular control, and the inevitable complaints about the frame rate. Yet, this DC title is enjoyable. The combat is smooth and captivating; the villains are great, and the story flows nicely. What’s more, two-player cooperative action is the icing on the cake. Yes, it could be better, but hardcore fans won’t care.

Kofi Quest is such an interesting and original RPG-style game. It’s got plenty of great action-packed battles against a variety of monsters and creatures, heroic music playing in the background, an extensive world map to travel and explore, and plenty of unique friends to meet. I think, for the most part, the game brings such a wonderful array of side quests to tackle and can keep the player occupied as well as the freedom to do as you please. As a whole, I struggle to say that Rune Factory 5 was worth the 10 year wait. You’d expect such a sought after title would show some development since it’s previous title in 2012, but I can’t say this game delivers. There are definitely elements which are thoroughly enjoyable. The more time you put into the title, the more fun you’ll have. If you’re bored of every other farming sim and release from Rising Star, maybe this game could suit what you’re looking for. Heroes of Mount Dragon is a vibrant, ambitious start for RuniQ. It nails presentation and accessible brawling, with dragon transformations adding spectacle and depth. Co-op play, curses, and humour make it a fun pick-up-and-play party game, especially for fans of classic arcade beat‑’em‑ups. But it currently lacks sufficient content and variety to maintain long-term engagement. The gameplay, which conforms around well-paced platforming action, is both responsive, and surprisingly varied. A similar sentiment spills over onto the narrative, which I found to be rather engaging, though, at times, somewhat clichéd. Musically, the soundtrack is well put together and wholly inoffensive, but doesn’t do anything special to warrant being remembered. However, the same cannot be said about Somber’s artistic prowess, which is smartly woven into the core ideology of the game, and is downright gorgeous to look at. Unfortunately, Somber is currently priced at just under £6 as of writing this. While that isn’t an exuberant amount of money, it feels a little overpriced for how much time you’ll spend with it. As such, I’d recommend waiting until this goes on sale before considering buying a copy of your own.

Undeniably charming, with an interesting and inventive plot, even if the writing is a bit wonky at times. However, it poorly connects its plot and gameplay, leading to horrendous pacing that ends up dragging both sides down.

Motorcycle Mechanic Simulator 2021 has a great variety in the number of motorcycles, and each of these motorcycles has a unique, realistic and detailed arrangement of parts, but the lack of tools and annoying control is the negative part of its gameplay. This game is the only option for those who are looking for a simulator of motorcycle repairs and upgrades, and it is good and suitable.

El Gancho is a brilliantly dated action-platform title. With simple mechanics but addictive gameplay, this will keep you going for hours. A wonderful casual experience that will get under your skin.

For the most part, not to include the downfalls, this game could be a quite fun and unique adventure into the deep blue sea. It’s full of creative creatures you can learn about and some that might make you laugh or scare you. The combat using your friend is something original, especially when that friend is a swordfish robot, or whatever you’d like to think of this fish as. It really uses the main thing of teamwork when enjoying this game. I honestly found it quite entertaining, challenging, and remarkable with the display of art at every level as you swim through each section of this maze-like game.

Shinchan: Shiro and the Coal Town is a wild, whimsical ride through a charming Japanese village, filled with Shinchan’s trademark shenanigans. While some tasks might feel a bit mundane, the real joy comes from exploring this quirky world and meeting its eccentric characters. If you’re in the mood for a lighthearted adventure that captures the carefree spirit of childhood, this game is definitely worth checking out.

Terminal Velocity: Boosted Edition is an old-school title with a modern finish. Thanks to its simple approach and low-poly graphics, this is a wonderful trip down memory lane. Sadly, though, its limited appeal will only impress a niche audience.

SUNSOFT is Back Retro Game Selection is a niche product that will not impress everyone. However, if you love old-school gaming and you wish to play never-before released in the West games, then don't miss out. This collection is nicely varied and wonderfully dated. Yet, I'm not sure if it is a few decades too late for this experience.

Despite providing an impressive number of ways to adjust countless character stats, Disgaea 6‘s repetitive story and basic visual design fails to conjure up a personality outside of the menus, and with the 3D action a passenger to the all-consuming and overpowered levelling-up system, it feels like one of the more forgettable entries in the series.

The Smurfs 2 - The Prisoner of the Green Stone is a 3D adventure title that sticks to tried and tested mechanics. What's more, it has plenty of monsters, loads of crystals, and some simple puzzles. As such, it'll entertain you even if it occasionally outstays its welcome.

Finding Frankie is a fun game, but it has obvious shortcomings. It’s a little too easy, fairly short, and there’s not a whole lot of variety in its mechanics or courses. That doesn’t mean that there’s not some good here though. I think for the right price (I am unsure of price. The Xbox store doesn’t have a price listed and I can’t find any info online) you can have a good time with it.

Kejora isn’t loud. It isn’t flashy. And it isn’t trying to impress you with scale. What it does instead is quietly tell a story about change, fear, and the comfort — and danger — of staying the same. I do have to say however that although the game’s visuals are fantastic and story meaningful. Kejora is very short. Also compared to other Indie titles I have covered it’s price tag is unfair for ~3 hours of gameplay with no replay value.
