I liked many elements within Kinduo, however, it never went far enough. It disappointed me because of the lack of depth but I enjoyed it on a superficial level. I wish the developers had made it harder, but this wasn’t to be. As a starter puzzle game, it’s great.

Little Witch Nobeta is nothing special. It does nothing better than any other number of games I could name. Its gameplay becomes fairly stale the moment you realise how truly limited your options are, there’s no sense of character building beyond flat stat upgrades, and the level variety is so stale that if not for some puzzles, I would have been convinced that the levels were randomly generated. The game has some love put into it with the unlockable costumes and the small lore tidbits, but I just can’t recommend this to anyone who’s played a souls/ soulslike game before. Sure it’s fairly cheap, but there’s no shortage of cheap (and better) soulslikes.

If you’re a big fan of roguelites and enjoy less complex indie ones then you might just get some value out of Bail Force: Cyberpunk Bounty Hunters. It will set you back £8 which considering how long it takes to beat the game with both characters is not the worst price, but I’d wait until it’s on sale like it is now for around £6. For that price I’d say it’s worth your money and short time.

The Redress of Mira is a surreal and strange walking simulation title. Furthermore, it has an amazing soundtrack and the first-person perspective is great. I feel the game has its good qualities and its bad ones. Maybe it just needs a little of these things fixed to be a brilliant game. However, it just can come off a bit less realistic. Even with a simple thing that acts as a meter to locate your next location. It tells you how close you are getting towards an object, well this blue marker does count down, but it never gets to 0 to tell you that you’ve arrived. it just gets to about 2 something, and that is the location. At first, I was thinking it would have to be further, then just right there, but it isn’t.

When the music gets going and you blast forward into the enemy lines, it’s exciting. Fun, even. To me, though, it just boiled down to locking on and spamming the trigger until everything died. It came alive most in the one-on-one fights. The final boss fight was the most exciting, as it used all ranges – even melee. Then it was done and the game was over. I felt like I was finally getting it and it was gone. What it left me with was a profound feeling that there’s an interesting core buried somewhere in Nimbus INFINITY. It’s just a shame it’s dragged down by everything else, leaving it simply sub-par.

To conclude my time with Monsters Domain I’m honestly just upset. I feel like every mechanic in this game is a promise of something great. Every minute of gameplay is like a sales pitch that gets you more and more excited about the final product and what you will get if you just stick around and then as soon as you go to grab this GOTY idea, it just walks away. If this was early access I would maybe suggest waiting and wish listing the game for later but since it’s the full release, I can only suggest giving it your time if it comes in a bundle you were going to buy anyway.

Compared with how much I loved the past two South Park games, I am deeply disappointed with Snow Day. Mindless, boring and repetitive, this game could have really been a cool and different entry into the franchise. Instead, the art style, combat and story leave the player wanting so much more. The result of all this is a singularly confusing experience. There are moments when Death in the Nile does shine, even in its new bits. It makes a mystery out of glass being added to a caviar verrine, for example, and it requires actual detective gameplay. But then it goes through a lengthy section where we stumble aimlessly across the rooftops of Cairo, looking for one interactable door. It’s bits like these that make Death in the Nile feel bloated. A classic Poirot tale that keeps getting interrupted by a considerably less interesting one.

Overall, I’d say Lawn Mowing Simulator is a serviceable simulation of what it is like to mow lawns. While this is not my kind of game, I can see why others would value it and become addicted to it with its wealth of game modes. However, the menus are clunky, DLC is offered as soon as you start the game, and the graphics are poor, despite doing their job. Any game’s value comes down to its gameplay elements and unlike the great titles out there, the core gameplay elements of Lawn Mowing Simulator are not satisfying, or addictive enough to make this game worth my time. As far as simulation games go, Lawn Mowing Simulator is an average title and should be avoided unless you are passionate about mowing lawns.

Curse Rounds is a somewhat difficult, repetitive time killer with more in common with the coin gobbling arcade cabinets of yesteryear. It’s very cheap (£3/$4) but on modern store fronts that constantly host much deeper games for a similar price point, it feels like an iPhone game in comparison. There’s a good foundation here, very nice visuals and solid game feel and I can see the retro loving crowd getting more out of it, particularly those on Switch and PC (it played okay on controller, but I feel the aiming mechanics were designed with keyboard and mouse in mind). Maybe I’m too young, maybe I’m too impatient, maybe I’m too much of a wannabe film bro and maybe my astigmatism didn’t agree with how many objects were on screen (I should get my prescription checked). The developers PHL Collective and the publisher GameMill Entertainment are known for putting out low quality licensed kids games. On top of that, the game also has a $15 USD DLC pack that seems to only provide cosmetics, a 3D model viewer, and a concept art viewer. Praising the game’s competency is difficult under the weight of its indifference towards anything but mimicry. It’s a title that more immediately identifies as a dime a dozen, uninspired app store experience more than anything else, one amongst many that are starting to populate platforms such as the Playstation Store, Steam, and the eShop. The dusty corners of these catalogs once fostered games capable of delivering on players’ faith that they might discover an overlooked gem. An overpopulation of undercooked experiences and titles drained of spirit has made a history of such hope, an especially harsh realization given how the niche audience for a series like Pilotwings genuinely yearns for a modern counterpart crafted with care. Pilot Sports is, unfortunately, not that game.

Not only is MalnaZidos an awful and poorly performing title, but it’s also incomplete and should never have been released in its current state.

Overall, I would say my time spent with Colossal Cave was well spent. It was a fun way to experience an older title brought up to modern times. Unfortunately, the charm is lost on those who don’t have any experience with this style of game and may be extremely off putting for those who like a little more guidance without having to be penalized for using the hint system. This is a wonderful nostalgia trip for many but unfortunately, Nostalgia isn’t enough for everyone.

Ario is a colourful 2.5D adventure title. However, much of its gameplay is lacklustre and the story is just as bland. Disappointingly, I was expecting much more, but it didn't deliver. As such, there are better alternatives available.

Ayasa: Shadows of Silence has some potential in its world and atmosphere but is so broken and awkwardly designed that it becomes a miserable experience.

Folly Of The Wizards is just a boring, repetitive game. Mechanics, relics and weapons are never fully explained. The affinity system is interesting but never becomes something good. Another confusing addition that is just confusing. All this makes the game frustrating. Graphics and the level design is good and some of the boss fights are cool and challenging. Unfortunately, this is one roguelike where you do not want to try again after dying. There are better options out there in this genre. Folly Of The Wizards isn’t one of them.

Thief Simulator: Mastermind edition has a nice enough premise, but it's dragged down by poor AI, ugly graphics and a loop that descends into tedious grind. Feels very much like quantity over quality.

A Dream about Parking Lots is a pretty drab affair. It is slow, repetitive, and a little tedious. Furthermore, the gameplay doesn't evolve and it is over in less than 2 hours. Though I like the dream-like design, it becomes stale very quickly!

Playing through this game, I am reminded of a similar game that came out last year. That being TCG Card Shop Simulator. The concept of a store management game isn’t new, but both games share that similarity and that you sell items of a specific hobby. While the gameplay loop was enjoyable, it sort of wears at a certain point. Sure, I’m making a lot of progress in improving my store, but it feels like a lot of the same for each in-game day. There doesn’t seem to be any unique events or changes throughout the days. Because of this, the game loses steam and ends up being very repetitive. As of writing this, the game is still receiving updates, so there may end up being improvements to the game.

My conclusion for Sherwood Extreme is that it is a grand concept but much less a game. The combat is fluid, the enemies, albeit easy, are very fun to fight and the map design for the very little there was, was very fun to navigate. In Short, this labour of love is in need of more time in the oven of Love!

The story is very simple and without twist, it does not make you curious about it and it is short. The gameplay is very repetitive and you only solve repetitive puzzles and sometimes you encounter sister Madeline. The map design is great and its shortcuts will surprise you. Visually, it is good and has stable resolution and performance. The sound design is not good and you can’t tell where Sister Madeline is walking by the sound of her footsteps.

Nitro kid does a wonderful job of standing out from other rouge-likes but some of the glaring issues prevent it from being a strong contender against other titles such as The darkest Dungeon and one of the more recent popular titles, Hades. It was a fun little adventure and could definitely hit the spot if players are looking for another game to add to their backlog but will certainly leave players looking for more after their initial run is finished.

In short, its attempt to be a party game is poorly executed as it sneers at the things that make party games fun: quick games, easy to understand, no cumbersome mechanics, a well-known cast, and creative worlds. Instead, Dokapon Kingdom Connect misses the mark in my opinion on pretty much all of these, too caught up in its attempt to be an RPG.

I really wanted to like The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. I genuinely wanted to enjoy a unique take on a game set in the Lord of the Rings universe. Sadly, Gollum misses the mark. While the story is actually interesting, the gameplay, bugs and mechanics make it a painful slog.

Offroad Truck Simulator: Heavy Duty Challenge should have been a great racing experience. It has so much potential that it left me annoyed. The hulking machines and high-energy racing should have been thrilling. Unfortunately issues and bugs hold it back!

Drywall Eating Simulator is a bite-sized comedic adventure. Developed and published by Peripheral Playbox, the game consists of four scenarios and plenty of contemporary satire. Players must manage their stress levels in order to complete tasks and find the exit. Interacting with NPCs and hearing the annoying things they say will increase stress, which reveals new walls to break down. To calm down, players can break these walls down and eat the pieces of drywall. Gameplay is simple and straightforward, but is a bit lackluster overall. This might be a game best played by content creators as a fun indie side game rather than having a large player base on its own. I remain hopeful for more content to be added in the future, but I suppose we will have to wait and see!

Lumberjack Simulator is a real-to-life simulation title. With vast potential and a massive world to explore, it sets out its stall pretty early on. Sadly, though, many glitches, bugs, and problems thwart its progress. Accordingly, there are limited redeeming qualities to admire.

The game itself is fun if players can overlook the bugs and issues. I believe the game is still patchable if the developer team still polishing the game. Thus, the game is still a recommended piece for souls-like lovers to give a try.
