Athletic and agile, sneaky and cunning. Driven by the desire to once again hold in his hands what he lost, Gollum is one of the most fascinating characters in the world of The Lord of the Rings.

He has seen things that others can not imagine, he has survived things that others would not dare mention. Torn by his split personality, he can be vicious and villainous as Gollum, but social and cautious as Sméagol.
While being vital to the story by J.R.R. Tolkien, many parts of Gollum's quest have not been told in detail yet. In The Lord of the Rings: Gollum you get to experience this story. From his time as a slave below the Dark Tower to his stay with the Elves of Mirkwood.

Use stealth, agility and cunning to survive and overcome what lies ahead. Climb, leap and grapple your way past dangers or into advantageous spots.

While Gollum might not be a fighter, it is not unlike him to assassinate a careless enemy when the chance presents itself or dispose of them in more creative and villainous ways.

The decisions you make and the way you play have a direct influence on Gollum's personality: Always struggling between the two sides embodied by Gollum and Sméagol, it is up to you to decide whether the darker side of Gollum takes over or if there is a spark of reason left in what once was Sméagol. One mind, two egos - you decide!

The Lord of the Rings Gollum is a game that has a lot of technical issues that also ultimately drag its presentation back. However, it still is a charming game in its own way with its setting, writing, and some incredible environment design that can catch your breath at times. This game is a cautious recommendation for players that aren't Lord of the Rings enthusiasts.

It's heartbreaking because the project is courageous and good approaches are recognizable. However, the technical problems are hard to ignore, as is the stale gameplay. Still, we think the game is worth a look for fans of the franchise, if only because of the story.

We were very sorry not to give at least the sufficiency to The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. But the limits are too many. The unpublished portion of the story is not up to Tolkien's saga and the playful phases are imprecise and obsolete. A thicker graphic rendering would have at least allowed fans to better enjoy some flashes of the pleasant artistic direction. In short, we hope that future patches will solve, if nothing else, the technical stumbling blocks. In any case, even if the stability of the game will improve in the future, Daedalic Entertainment's one is unfortunately not the treasure we wanted it to be.

Just like the character at its center, the game is in sad, broken shambles, held together only by the faint belief that the good things about it are enough to make its existence worthwhile.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a poorly designed, bug-ridden, untested game that’s only redeeming quality doesn’t matter in the whole picture.

A monotonous, frustrating adventure game that wouldn't be fun even without the severe bugs and performance problems.

    20
A derivative, uninteresting and fundamentally broken stealth action adventure that fails to capture anything interesting about Tolkien’s fiction.

Gollum is a very good game for the game it wants to be. You climb the whole time, move with gollum and have the lore around.
It has better graphics, hard riddles and a good gameplay feeling. The story is LOTR. All in all great game, you could buy the hardware for it, but also playable on lower. Way better in relation to titles that get hype bot ratings.

Truly one of the worst games I have ever played in my entire life. A disgrace to Tolkien and a disgrace to mankind in general.

Expensive and poorly done everything! Young games and indie studios must watch. A vivid example of how everything that can be done through the ass.

    Absolute piece of ****
The idea is idiotic, the gameplay is horrendous, oh and the performance! It runs bad, but the graphics are good right?

The idea is idiotic, the gameplay is horrendous, oh and the performance! It runs bad, but the graphics are good right? HAHAHAH no, ps3 graphics with awful texture load times and your favorite, stutters. Game 'reviewers' had the audacity to give it a 4/10 or even 6/10 in their 'reviews'. This game is just another proof that gaming journalists are utter clowns who shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion.
