Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 is a fun but oddly addictive simulation experience. Though the action is repetitive and rudimentary, I couldn't put it down! If you love compelling visuals, enjoy shorter roguelike sessions, and don’t mind leaning into the meta, it’s absolutely worth it. In summary, while “Hive Jump 2: Survivors” doesn’t reinvent the genre, it offers a solid, enjoyable experience for fans of bullet-hell roguelites. Its jetpack mechanic adds a unique touch to the action, and the upgrade system provides enough depth to keep players coming back for more. However, the limited weapon and map variety, along with some restrictive mechanics, hold it back from being truly exceptional.

The Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is a stunning tribute to one of the most influential RPGs of all time. While not without its flaws, it successfully captures the heart of the original while offering a polished, modern experience. Fans of the series and newcomers with an appreciation for retro-inspired games will likely find this remake a worthy addition. However, for those seeking a more action-packed or dynamically animated experience, the game may not fully meet expectations. It is a nice RTS spin on the roguelike genre that is starting to feel crowded. However, there are drawbacks, such as some stagnant moments in the run where you are waiting for more resources or enemies to appear. Building different body combos to create the best minions to fight off enemies is fun, but it can be annoying when you’re close to having a good minion but are one part off. The ability to play both online and in local multiplayer is something I would love to see in more games moving forward. Exo One is a tremendous title that stands out from its peers. Its easy controls and excellent aesthetics make it a joy to play. If the developers had added extra elements to the latter stages, then it would have been perfect.

An emotional story presented in a unique way. Bizarre and fascinating visuals give way to an interesting gameplay mechanic that's never quite used to its fullest.

Fading Afternoon tells the interesting story of Seiji Maruyama, an older Yakuza trying to re-establish himself in the newer world. There is a lot of interesting commentary on aging and reflections on the life you live, which I liked. To get to these moments, you have to battle through repetitive encounters. The game doesn’t give you much direction, so sometimes you aimlessly explore, hoping to trigger another cutscene on Seiji’s journey. If you can get through the repetitive combat, Fading Afternoon is worth checking out.

VORON: Raven's Story is dazzlingly beautiful and makes flying around a delight. It's only fault is that it doesn't dive enough into either its world or its puzzles.

Just Dance 2026 is great if you love the franchise. There is a nice library of songs to select and a new central hub to enjoy. Furthermore, the mobile phone controller system was an interesting concept. Although I'm not a massive fan of yearly franchises, this one does a nice job.

In deciding that ambition is the dragon that needs toppling, Shadow Warrior 3 is aggressively average, restricting its own potential with poor level design and underwhelming weapons and enemies. Quite how it manages to fluff its lines, despite having all the ingredients for success – humour, great visuals and Doom-lite gunplay – is frustrating, but if you are able to look past this, it does still provide an opportunity for you to switch off with some mindless entertainment in short spurts.

The Rogue Prince of Persia is a fluid and fun-filled parkour experience. The movement is great and it has that "one more run" edge. However, it isn't as memorable as other titles from the franchise. Furthermore, there are better and bigger games in the genre. It is still worthy of your time, but it won't stay with you forever.

Saborus is an interesting horror experience. It combines many genres to great effect. The result is an uncomfortable game that'll keep you guessing throughout. My major complaint is the short playtime, had it been longer and more expansive, it would have thrived.

The Plague Doctor of Wippra is a clever critique of the global pandemic that hasn’t quite gone away, told through the lens of late medieval Germany dealing with the bubonic plague. At its’s surface though, it’s a great point-and-click adventure game with interesting dialogue, raised stakes, alternate endings and enough puzzles to feel satisfying. Sadly, it is on the short side and can be completed within a couple of hours. But it’s a couple of hours well spent.

Whilst it’s certainly interesting, it remains largely incoherent. Subsequent playthroughs, which are mandatory to experience all the game has to offer, don’t really clear up any of the confusion either. Still, Moonscars does offer something worth playing. If you’re in the market for a new Metroidvania or Souls-like game, then I’d recommend giving this one a shot.

Smash Boats Waterlogged Edition is a fun and colourful nod to arcade gaming. The arena-based combat is simple to understand and will entertain you throughout. What's more, childish humour is apparent in every chapter. Though it lacks depth, the casual approach makes it attractive and moreish.

Sam & Max: Beyond Space and Time tries to be too clever for its own good, expecting the player to follow long-winded and sometimes-incomprehensible logic of its puzzles, and with its dated references and cliched characters, although this entry might still be enjoyable, it is one of the less memorable Sam and Max entries.

Demoniaca: Everlasting Night is a fantastic old-school Metroidvania title. Played solo or with a friend, you must explore a maze of interconnecting rooms as you collect items while trying to escape the tower of Babel. With a mixture of elements, this is a tough but fair retro game that will test you throughout.
